  3. Risk 2 tournament mode is a single player 16 mission campaign where each mission features a different objective that the player must complete to move on to round 2. Missions use both the classic and Same Time Modes. You get points in each mission. Missions consist of tasks such as: conquering a certain % of the map, conquering certain countries, capturing capitals, as well as few other objectives. If you fail to knock out an opponent, don't complete the objective, or get knocked out yourself, you lose the mission and must start all the way over. No redoing the same mission over.

  7. I once did a "run" of this game years ago where if a turn was going poorly, i would simply exit out of the mission. Exiting out would allow me to start over from the previous turn and try again till i got rolls that I was happy with. It was a mechanic in the game, and even with this "broken" mechanic, winning was incredibly hard. This time around, I won't be using that mechanic and will simply play with what is given to me. This means that the likelyhood of actually beating this challenge is very very small, and will take me many many tries. I love a challenge though, and will do my best.

  9. What is Same Time Mode?

  11. Same Time Risk is a completely different concept, and mostly suited for digital play. A player may use two or more different armies from one or more different territories to attack a bordering territory.

  13. After placing reinforcements and making a move, the map will show the moves of all players and where they will attack. Then, each battle is fought battle individually (unless AI are battling each other; in that case, it is automatically resolved) until all moves have been played.

  15. The Same Time concept requires dynamically different strategies from that of the Classic game. An attack from 2 or more territories to a single enemy territory is called a 'Mass Invasion'. If two different players attack a territory that fails to defend them, then a 'Spoils of War' battle ensues at the end of the turn between the two armies who fought for the territory in question. A player may only move through one territory at a time when attacking, although each player is granted a 'Surge Attack', which can be used to thrust a designated amount of soldiers from a newly acquired territory into a neighboring one. If two armies meet when attacking, a 'Border Clash' battle occurs, which is the first to be resolved.

  18. What are the cards for?

  20. Everytime you take at least one territory in a round, you receive a risk card. Cards can be turned in through sets of 3 to receive more reinforcements depending on the game type. Sets are: All infantry/Horsemen/cannons, one of each of infantry/horsement/cannons. There are also wild cards that can be paired with any of the cards to work. In classic mode, each set makes the next set worth more reinforcements. In sametime, all sets have pre determined ammounts of reinforcements.

  30. While I am using splits, and while I might appear on SRL, this is more of a challenge run than anything. It's an incredibly long category and will take a long time. My decisions won't be lightning quick and i won't always have the optimal path, but I think it would be fun to time it and see if first I can do it, and secondly see if I can beat my own time.
