  1. Session 2
  2.
  3. Pilots begin their day in their hospital beds, in separate rooms. Fabian gets a flower, as he can’t use it as a weapon; Celio gets Chanukah presents from Sharon, because he’s always the favourite, and Ryuzaki may or may not have got a sexy visit from Dr. Long.
  4.
  5. MEANWHILE, Riku gets dragged in front of his bosses, clearly not for the weekly poker game. He gets offered coffee. Not the good kind, the awkward, you done goofed kind of coffee. He ends up completely agreeing with Sharon, rather than attempting to defend himself from her accusations. Finally he attempts to try to play the “I’m new” card. She throws the logs and his chest-high wall fetish back at him. While trying to reply, the matter of Ryu’s EVA regrowing legs is breached, which he finds very hard to explain. He also finds it hard to explain why he seemed to ignore the pilot’s welfare in the situation. At which point he tries to break the awkward silence which follows with an awkwardly long coffee sip before asking what the question was again. Long pipes up for the first time in the scene to remind MacArthur of the Tokyo-3 explosion under Riku. MacArthur makes completely unveiled threats towards Riku’s job position, while citing Finn’s condition as a chicken mcnugget. After many times where Riku manages to corner himself in bad discussion, MacArthur finally points out her belief that Riku doesn’t respect his job, and neglects it accordingly. More awkward silence, eventually broken by “….Huh.”. As he’s almost let free, Long reminds him that he could easily be sent back to the Hague. He then visits the four kids, beginning with Ryuzaki. He then proceeds to just stare through the window at the child as if he’s some public masturbator, rather than attempting to enter and comfort or apologise to the boy he has now allowed to get sent to hospital twice.
  6.
  7. He heads on to Fabian’s room. He decides to actually bug this child he has no previous experience with, and knocks and enters. This makes Fabian MASSIVELY NERVOUS. He blatantly lies and says he is fine. They then proceed to compare the merits of Fabian’s favourite wall against the other three. Riku tries to tell the boy who has always been anxious that he doesn’t have to be anxious. Blatantly bullshitting. Fabian, being the good robot he is, tries to resume his training immediately. Riku, learning to be a human being, decides he should wait for the nurses to agree with his discharge. Fabian returns to his riveting past-time of watching dried paint dry. Nurse can’t let him leave, needs his psyche-tests. Fabian keeps itching his face, as if he’s not sure it’s there. Riku scares away the nurse with a horrific grin. He then, eventually, apologises for possibly the first time ever, to Fabian. Who proceeds to largely ignore it. He runs from the room, wishing kids could be more like his bumblebees.
  8.
  9. He looks in on Ethan. The room is packed with staff, with charred flesh just occasionally visible. Decides to leave, not wanting to bring infections into the room, before checking on Celio and his presents. Celio’s tossing pens around the room like a tard. He immediately loses interest once his feelings are brought up and returns to tossing pens. And acts completely up himself while being self-demeaning. TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. Celio tries to leave, but gets DENIED. They reach a compromise, and Riku even manages to get him to stop throwing pens. He tells Celio not to leave before the nurses allow him, and to pick up the pens he’d thrown. As Riku leaves, Celio uses the excuse to climb out of bed and begin practising firing positions.
  10.
  11. While Riku is distracted, Fabian manages to sneak out, trying to get to his EVA. Somehow, despite having only transferred here days ago, he manages to find his way to the EVA pens, and his still headless EVA, where he curls up on the catwalk beneath. MEANWHILE, Riku heads back to the Operations Center to celebrate by doing stacks of paperwork. After doodling Bumblebees on half the papers, he gets an intercom message about Fabian being missing within the Operations Center. He gets the doctor to begin searching the hospital for Fabian, while he suddenly remembers the base has security cameras. He manages to somehow reach Fabian before Dr. Long, as Fabian fails to hear him coming. He yells at the incredibly anxious and nervous boy, who hadn’t noticed his presence, who starts to panic. Fabian attempts to be self-sacrificial, while freaking out. It doesn’t work well.
  12.
  13. Fabian claims he’s in peak, physical condition and that the EVA was calling to him, Riku explains his mental condition counts too. Riku pulls Fabian back, trying to sneak past as many people as possible. Riku then extends his awkwardness about walking around with a semi-naked boy to Fabian.
  14.
  15. Of course, as he gets back to the hospital, he walks straight into Sharon. With the semi-naked Fabian. Riku manages to avoid making an arse of himself in front of the Commander, but she literally turns Fabian into a mass of nervous jelly. She takes Fabian from Riku, and wanders off.
  16.
  17. ONE MONTH LATERRRRR
  18.
  19. Ryuzaki is still paranoid of nurse-gypsies. He isn’t able to leave his room without supervision, so he goes over the results of the last Angel-fight. He begins yelling into the empty room angrily. He isn’t allowed anything which he could easily turn into a weapon. Before the dashing Dr. Long enters. And acts like a dick. But he brings Ryu out of his hospital room, so he puts up with him for a while. Long asks him what happened during the Third Angel fight. Long has a problem with him allowing the beast to go berserk, effectively wasting multi-billions of dollars worth of equipment. He then takes Ryu to task for being so insubordinate. And then takes a dig at Riku by shaming Ryu. Before swaggering off. Ryu then wanders off to a training area to punch up bags. Celio heads over to the training area to start shooting down the rifle range.
  20.
  21. Fabian also seeks to train, and starts stealing hungry glances at Ryuzaki’s sweaty, muscular form. Ryuzaki quickly recognises him as the “wimpy kid” who seems fairly boring. They fail to interact at all beyond this sighting.
  22.
  23. Riku has somehow managed to go a full month without being fired. He then starts staring at the children creepily. SUPPOSEDLY to make sure Fabian hasn’t escaped. He checks on the newly-released Ryuzaki as he’s punching. Creepily. He asks Ryu how he’s feeling, and for once a child manages to answer the question normally, without any evasion or other dickery. Ryuzaki shows actual compassion for his fellow pilots, and asks how Ethan is doing, who is still in hospital. Riku explains the depressing truth, which leads him to awkwardly leave. Celio, completely undistracted by visits, blows off some steam by full-auto bullet hell’ing from the hip at the range.
  24.
  25. Riku returns to his paperwork, more depressed than ever, only to receive over an intercom an “Orbital Proximity Alert”. The satellites reveal a fast-moving object which appears to be consistant with Orbital debris. After some calculations by the supercomputer, the projected impact point is the Ural mountains. “The fuck is going on?”. He tries to contact the nearest Nerv base, Berlin. They agree to full disclosure to try and stop this meteor. He tries to get the EVAs ready, only for Impact. The machine takes an error – impact error. Cameras reveal the debris stops just moments before. The Berlin sensors pick up a massive AT spike. Berlin loses visual contact. The creature seems to have vanished.
  26.
  27. Riku preps the pilots as best he can, as a massive AT spike is detected above Anchorage. The creature blasts away the rock, revealing its granite form. It features no neck, arms bent over the tors, and no legs, with big, black wings. Riku scrambles Hornets, arms Celio with an M-7 Handcannon, Fabian with a Pallet Rifle, and Ryu with a hammer. He sends up the EVAs and the Hornets to scout the reaction of the monster.
  28.
  29. The EVAs prove slow to muster. As the Hornets approach, their fire proves completely ineffective. After crossing a certain line, they seem to shut off entirely and crash. The Angel suddenly launches a beam which Fabian barely dodges. Another beam is fired, which Fabian barely dodges again. Fabian manages to dodge the third, but is clipped in the Head by the fourth.
  30.
  31. Fabian neutralises and cowers behind Celio, while Celio neutralises and hip fires his hand cannon. The Angel manages to dodge. Ryuzaki charged the beast, as Riku was distracted by a sudden call about how Ethan had awoken.
  32.
  33. Ryuzaki’s last samurai charge is quickly shot down by the Angel’s beam, scoring a devastating hit against his EVA’s body, the force of the blast knocking him backwards in a single hit and defeating the EVA instantly. Riku ejects Ryu’s pod, which for once actually launches almost properly, going 58 decameters.
  34. The Angel tries to beam Celio, but his lightweight EVA manages to dodge.
  35.
  36. The Angel suddenly vanishes, taking its AT Field with it, as a secondary AT field is detected suddenly around where the Angel was, with the Angel seemingly phasing in above Ryuzaki’s crashed Entry Plug. As the SOLOMON super computers quickly analyse the situation, they correctly identify the Fifth Angel in the area where the Fourth had been before it teleported away.
  37.
  38. The Fifth Angel, while not visible to the visible light spectrum, is spotted by Celio’s Cyclopean EVA doing a wide-spectrum scan. Fabian charges in, while Celio neutralises the creature to shoot it, but misses due to its unnatural camouflaging. Riku deploys Ethan who launches an AT Flare to taunt his opponents. Meanwhile, he potshot’s the Fourth Angel and clips its wing.
  39.
  40. The monster approaches Ethan, while he manages to dodge two beam-attacks. Fabian can’t see the 5th Angel, and so full-round aims at the 4th, while Celio full-round aims at the 5th. Ethan shots the 4th in the face with the Hand Cannon, leading Ethan, Riku and Celio to circle jerk over the weapon across the comms channel.
  41.
  42. The 4th Angel fails to hit Ethan, but the 5th advances and beams the EVA of Fabian’s Arm, leaving it barely hanging on, while shooting Ethan’s EVA through the chest, leaving a solid hit. However, Fabian scores a legendary hit against the 4th with the Pallet Rifle on full-auto, absolutely defeating it. Celio feels shamed by the amazing performance of Fabian, and tries to one-up him by bringing down the 5th Angel – which, due to its size, predictably misses. Celio starts acting like a dick to Fabian. Like more of one, at least, while Riku’s Bumblebee arrives in time to evac Ryu’s Entry Plug.
  43.
  44. Ethan, still stunned, spreads his AT field quickly, and misses the prone 4th Angel’s core. Fabian manages to dodge the 5th Angel’s beam, while Ethan gets clipped in the chest., causing the EVA to begin overheating.
  45.
  46. Fabian, despite not aiming, with unnatural luck, manages to clip the 5th Angel, destroying it. Celio goes full mad, throws away the hand cannon and leaps upon the 4th seeking to rip and tear with the EVA’s bare hands. He manages to destroy the core, but giving in to his darker side and his close exposure to an Angel may lead to problems further down the line. Riku loves Fabian, but is not happy with his Neo-Spartans, after the shit they pulled (Ryuzaki having punched one of the other people in the Bumblebee for no good reason).
