  1. Hey guys, it’s been some time. I’m sorry for disappearing. I didn’t wanted to post an update on what was going on because I didn’t wanted to disappoint the people who supported me all
  2. these years. I tried to find a solution for this but it’s too late. you guys deserve to know.
  3.
  4. We were progressing with the crossover video. I had a lot of people who wanted to work on songs for it, people for particles effects and all the stuff. It was going like expected and it was
  5. awesome!
  6.
  7. Then the guy who was writing the story disappeared.
  8. Gone. I think he just didn’t wanted to do it anymore, I don’t know, he was gone. I ended up finding other guys to do it, but we weren’t pleased with the results. It was either not interesting, or it made the video look like it was supposed to be funny, which is not what I wanted. We all wanted something awesome.
  9.
  10. But I realized a few days later that no matter how awesome the script was, the video would be bad. Not because of mine’s, the music people’s or the particle people’s skills. But because SFM Dota doesn’t have the atmosphere for a major, serious video. Valve can do it because they have the assets for it , but we don’t have super high poly models, the map textures are low quality, League’s models quality are crap compared to Dota’s and the overall SFM lightning seems to only look perfect with TF2 models. We would need Valve’s assets from the Gamescom trailer, but we couldn’t contact the right guys. No matter what I did, it would look like a joke. I didn’t wanted that...
  11.
  12. A solution that I found was to drop SFM and make the thing on Max. It would be no different from the League trailers that Blur do, but it wouldn’t solve the model problems... And hell, a full video on Max with that quality would take me an entire year.. I have a job and go to college on the night, it would never be finished.
  13.
  14. I realized that I would have to drop the main idea and do something different. Because of that, I couldn’t accept the money you guys donated to me. You guys donated me a lot of money for
  15. this, thank you so much for that, but I couldn’t use it. I returned everything by closing my Patreon account (I don’t know if it works this way, please tell me if you guys got it back), and begun searching for a way of doing the video in a different way.
  16.
  17. Instead of doing a huge serious video, one of my friends suggested that I did several, small videos with interactions between characters. It was cool, he even did a badass storyboard of a video called “The only king that matters” which featured Wraith King fighting Jarvan, Tryndamere and Braun at the same time. It could work, but then I discovered what the true issue was.
  18.
  19. I wasn’t happy doing videos. I didn’t enjoyed it and felt depressing for me. The thought of working months on something that people will see once in 4 minutes and forget it the next day prevented me from enjoying the art of it. The first few videos were fun because they all took me 30 minutes to make, but as I kept experimenting
  20. with SFM to see it’s limits (at the time, I was the only SFM Dota creator), I accidentally turned the channel into a place where people come to expect high quality stuff. I don’t like doing those, I enjoy doing dumb, retarded on purpose videos, and even that is not something that I truly like, and damn, I would need a
  21. separate channel if I ever did that at this point.
  22.
  23. If you are wondering what I do for real, is programming. It’s what I work with and enjoy doing. But I didn’t wanted to give up on you guys like that. I made you a promise.
  24.
  25. And suddenly the Workshop tools came out. It instantly came to my mind that I could transform this video into a Dota 2 custom map. Not just a campaign, I wanted to do something that had this theme, but that you could replay several times and still have fun with it, like Wintermaul and other WC3 maps. It would also have
  26. SFM cutscenes in the middle of it, just like a real campaign. Since this is all programming, I would enjoy doing it.
  27. And I did enjoy it, I managed to program a 100% working Garen inside Dota, and also managed to make the SFM cutscenes work. I never gave up on this idea to be honest, but I had little
  28. time to work on it recently.
  29.
  30. But someone was much far ahead on developing a Dota
  31. x LoL map, so instead of finishing it and making it look like it was a huge plot twist (“haha, it was supposed to be a map all the
  32. time!”), I figured the right thing to do was to tell the truth.
  33.
  34. What happens to this channel? I don’t know. I will still be with you, maybe streaming, or maybe getting into the workshop scene somehow (I was supposed to make custom ability animations for certain items once, but unfortunately that never went through),
  35. but I don’t think I’ll ever make a SFM video again. I wanted to do other styles of videos, but if I do this, I will create another channel. I will not ruin this one.
  36.
  37. I took too long to realize I was not happy and ended up here. I’m so sorry for disappointing you guys.
  38.
  39. I failed.
