Mafia Rules

There are two main factions: town and mafia. Town must discover and eliminate all the mafiosi (scum), while the mafia's job is to simply kill members of the town. When the number of mafiosi is equal or greater than the number of townies, then the mafia wins. On the other hand, if the mafia is eliminated, the townies win.

Roles and alignment of players is initially unknown, except for members of the mafia who know who each other are. Town must use their judgment and information acquired to identify the members of the mafia among the players. Meanwhile, mafiosi will try to stay undercover and blend in with the rest of the crowd.

There are two "cycles" in the game - night and day. During daytime, people discuss in thread who they should lynch and everybody votes for someone to die that day. When a majority of players (50%+1) vote for someone and said person is lynched, we enter the night cycle. This is where mafiosi discuss between each other through a monitored group PM who they should kill. When they all agree on someone, they PM me who it is and I declare the death of that person here. Then the next day cycle starts over and it all loops again until one of the town or mafia meets their win condition.

If you are considered dead, you can't take part in the discussion in any way until the next round or you are somehow brought back to life. You can, however, win if your alignment wins at the end of the round.

When you sign up I will randomly assign you your role. I will then PM you your role and the game begins. The number of townies/mafiosi/third parties will depend on the total number of people.

During daytime, when you all finish discussing or when you decide who to lynch, you may place your vote. Please bold it so it is easier for me to find it. After that, any day end actions are calculated and night begins, where mafiosi will send in their actions and target. When the next day begins, any relevant deaths are announced and the cycle repeats as thus.
