  1. We today live in a system which is the result of a democracy and capitalism compounded over time. This system envelops practices one could consider good, or bad, in a working society. That there's any doubt between either accounts for your greediness. This money-oriented system we've developed greatly promotes materialism and consumption, which begets a cycle stimulated by commerce and, extensionally, government. Due to its large influence on our productivity and progress, this cycle can be very vicious.
  2. The government is one of the biggest and most important purveyors in this cycle. Because it currently has greater influence and power over a majority of the population it also has a lot of accessibility and control over it. History has shown us now and again anyone with power ought to be mistrusted. The government as a whole is no exception of this, with so many agencies and corporations aiding it violating general civil rights, waging war against itself.
  3. More designed his Utopia with ideas which were at the time controversial. However, many of the ideals he presented regarding rights and equality have had similar implementations by other countries, such as the United States. Because of this, they are viewed today as equal rights rather than utopian concepts. And despite progress, we still have many problems concerning corruption, trust, and greed. This continually happens due to lack of trust, a core problem in any working society that implements separatory powers. In spite of this, I designed two versions of a modern-day Utopia. One devoid of treachery, and one devoid of falsity.
  4. The former, as indicated, would be a society where ethics are a principle of every member, the government, and other powerful parties such as corporations. The rest would remain the same, however, with proper investment in different fields of the country, rectifying things such as impoverishment, instead of the alternative weapon research and development, or other corporate interests.
