Mars vs Venus War

The war occurs because the king of Mars, Roman, needs resources from the abundant Venus, however he believes negotiations will lead nowhere. One of the main problems with this is Venus (contemporary name for the Venecian leader) is a very diplomatic person who knows Roman quite well, and knows this is out of his nature. However, the army - which consists of the entire Martian population of only 2,500 - is highly loyal and will do as Roman says despite the protests of others. Their battle-hungry, and prefer sword-to-sword instead of word-to-word. The Venecians are fighting to protect their home, and are kemonomimi essentially, with control over the elements. In comparison, with abilities, each family of Martians has a specific ability dedicated to them.
