  1. >Be Aria
  2. >Opening the door to the apartment you realize just how much things have changed since the battle
  3. >Before all of this happened Sonata would have eagerly greeted you in a matter of seconds
  4. >But now She lay on the couch, watching television without giving you much thought
  5. "Where is Adagio?"
  6. >Sonata merely points to Adagio's room, eliciting little more than a groan
  7. >As you made your way to the door you couldn't help but wonder what she had to be watching to have that much of her attention
  8. >Adagio hadn't been herself since the battle around a week ago so you thought it was about time to look a bit more into the matter
  9. >But...
  10. >Opening the door your eyes befell a sight of which you never could have fathomed
  11. >Curled up in the corner
  12. >Quietly sobbing
  13. >Sat Adagio
  14. >You wanted to call out to her
  15. >You wanted to help
  16. >...But how?
  17. >Instead you simply closed the door
  18. >Trudged to the living room
  19. >And sat next to Sonata without uttering a word...
  20.
  21. >Be Sonata
  22.
  23.
  24. >You expected a reaction from Aria
  25. >Though what you expected, not even you were sure
  26. >Even if you had a list this wouldn't have been on it
  27. >Aria had just sat and began watching television alongside you
  28. >Guess there really is a first for everything
  29. >It wasn't that Aria particularly disliked you, in fact Aria and Adagio were like sisters to you
  30. >But Aria always preferred having her personal space
  31. >Nevertheless you rest your arm around her, still not sure of how to comfort her
  32. >She hadn't even eaten since she got home
  33. >So you pull her close and say the only thing you deem appropriate
  34. "Dinner is ready.. you'll never guess what were having."
  35. >You try to flash her a smile of reassurance
  36. >But you couldn't even do that much
  37. >Still, she didn't budge
  38.
  39. >... If only Aria knew how to ask for help...
  40.
  41. >Aria
  42.
  43.
  44. >You wanted nothing less than leaving Sonata's warm embrace
  45. >Although after a slow work day your stomach had other plans..
  46. >And it refused to be ignored after around 10 minutes
  47. >Sonata couldn't help but smile and laughingly said
  48. "Well what are you waiting for? Go find out already!"
  49. >Walking into the kitchen you already had one guess to what you'd see
  50. >Bingo! you saw partially what you expected...
  51. >There were three prepared plates,
  52. >They were warm enough that you expected that they were ready moments before you walked in
  53. >Perhaps Adagio chose to wait until they cooled?
  54. >...Not likely
  55. >But Sonata?
  56. >She'd normally have finished hers at the very least before you even arrived
  57. >She is probably just as hungry as you are, just as unnerved as well
  58. >Grabbing two plates you head back to the living room
  59. >You were much more calm than you had been half an hour ago
  60. >Suppose you owed it to sonata for that
  61.
  62.
  63. >After you finished eating you'd have to attempt paying Adagio another visit
  64.
  65. >Adagio
  66.
  67. "It's not fair!"
  68. >It would be hard to put your frustration into words
  69. >How could you let them down like that?
  70. "Why do they have to suffer from my mistake?"
  71. >Only a week ago everything had been alright
  72. "Why was the one time I screw up the time that they suffer!?"
  73. >When was the last time you cried?
  74. >You honestly couldn't remember
  75. >Since the banishment you had always been the strong one
  76. >When Sonata couldn't maintain a smile you had gotten her a small bear, ithad an even smaller red bowtie
  77. >And although it didn't solve your problems it raised her spirits
  78. >Which in turned raised Aria's mood as well, even if she won't admit it
  79. >Sadly the bear disappeared nearly a month later, Sonata hadn't the chance to name it
  80. >But by then the three of you had been able to get an apartment
  81. >You and Aria worked jobs while Sonata watched over the place, Though that meant tuesdays were hardly a surprise
  82. >Everything had been generally going well with you making the plans for restoring power
  83. >Had been...
  84. >Then you screwed everything up at the battle
  85. "I had everything planned!"
  86. "Everything should have been accounted for and they escape!?"
  87. >It had been a week since the battle
  88. >Since you lost the amulets
  89. >And as those days passed your positive attitude and your esteem dropped
  90. >...It showed
  91. >Any normal day you would have heard your door open
  92.
  93. >Or the Footsteps that followed
  94. >And perhaps the feeling of someones arms surrounding you
  95.
  96. >Aria
  97.
  98. >You were still unable to speak
  99. >You were also new to this concept of comforting someone, though you had a few ideas
  100. >If it were Sonata perhaps tickling would work, it didn't take much to set her off before anyway
  101. >But... This was Adagio
  102. >You still felt you should say something and yet, you couldn't
  103. >Perhaps it was better this way?
  104. >You think back to Sonata
  105. >Her initially quiet hug was exactly you needed
  106. >Still.. This whole experience was new to you
  107.
  108. >What if it didn't work?
  109.
  110. >What if you weren't doing it right?
  111.
  112. >What if you were doing it wrong?
  113.
  114. >What if you were somehow making things worst?
  115.
  116. >All of these thoughts were not helping your sanity
  117. >You were just as nervous as she was upset
  118. >It was a miracle Adagio didn't feel your heartbeat
  119. >If she did she made no sign of it.
  120. >After a few minutes of crying into your shoulder, she finally made eye contact with you
  121. >Her eyes were bloodshot
  122. >Tears still streaming down her face
  123. >And she was still uncontrollably weeping
  124. >But even through her sobs she was able to choke out a single low but audible whisper
  125.
  126. "...Thanks"
  127.
  128. >Well Didn't you have the weirdest feeling of deja vu
  129. >It was funny in a way
  130. >You had spoken these exact words to Sonata before walking in
  131. >The quiet hug must have been effective
  132. >Without the slightest thought you say
  133. "Whats the matter?"
  134. >It was a dumb question, you had caught the last few things Adagio mumbled to herself after entering the room
  135. >The look on her face told just how reluctant she was to speak
  136. >Still this was something you felt you had to go over
  137. >So after gathering your thoughts and with a sigh you finally speak again
  138. "Look, Adagio you can't blame yourself for what happened."
  139. >Adagio's grip on your shoulder tightens
  140. "But it's my fault that we no longer have our amulets, I let you both dow-"
  141. >You didn't let her finish that sentence before interrupting
  142. "You didn't let anyone down Adagio"
  143. >It was slowly becoming clear what it was that had her upset
  144. "Ever since we were banished from Equestria you have done a great job leading us up to now"
  145. >That last part hadn't sounded the way you meant it to and Adagio was quick to hang her head
  146. "That doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself,Sonata and I are and always will be here with you thick or thin just like you were with us"
  147. >This seemed to catch her attention as she finally returned her gaze to you accompanied by a small smile
  148. >There wasn't much else you could say and thinking back to not long ago you remember she hadn't eaten
  149. >Grabbing her hand you stood her up and began to lead her out of the room
  150. "Come on, lets get you someth-"
  151. >She didn't move
  152. "Adagio?"
  153. >She hugged you once again much tighter than before and from the feeling you had on your shoulder it was obvious that she was crying once again
  154. "N-not yet.."
  155.
  156. >Sonata
  157.
  158. >Minutes ago the show that had enraptured your attention finally ended and Aria still hadn't returned
  159. >You wondered if she had gotten stuck in the doorway again but that thought was immediately dismissed as you turned to look into Adagio's room
  160. >Leaning against the door frame you believe things are going to change, for the better
  161. >A chill sends shivers down your spine
  162. >You swear you feel someone watching you, but as you turn you only catch the weather changing
  163. >It had just began snowing
  164. >Looks like it'd be a white Christmas this year
