November 3rd 1954: The beginning of the so called Daikaiju age commences with the now legendary destruction of Tokyo by the monster known as Godzilla alpha, also known as Gojira in the Japanese language. Despite the best efforts of the JSDF and the American garrison in Japan, Tokyo is destroyed and hundreds of thousands are left dead and many more are homeless and turned into refugees in their own country as Godzilla leaves deadly radiation in its wake. Initial fears of a communist superweapon are dismissed when the USSR, PRC and other Communist governments express shock and confusion at the events. Attempted location and destruction of Godzilla by the American navy leads to the loss of three destroyers and two submarines before America calls off the search.

February 30th 1955: As the world is still reeling from the Tokyo attacks, Santiago in Chile is rocked by the sudden emergence of Anguirus whose arrival is heralded by a powerful earthquake as the enormous reptile plays havoc with the fault line before attacking the Chilean capital. The Chilean military deploys all available assets but proves unable to even slow down Anguirus whose destructive rampage leads to the greatest loss of life in Chile's history.

April 11th 1955: Adelaide in Australia is suddenly struck by a mated pair of Kaijus later identified as "Rodan" whose very fly overs can cause massive devastation; engaged in a territorial squabble with another mated pair of Kaijus of the Varan species. The destruction caused across southern australia defies comprehension and the Australian military is left a ruin in the aftermath. The clash of titans is left without a clear winner and the Rodans claim the australian outback as their nesting grounds.

August 30th 1955: Initial thoughts that these were merely pacific phenomenom were dispelled when America is greeted at 6:00 AM eastern standard time by the horrific sight of Bagan emerging from the sea and tearing a path through the deep south in a beeline to the American heartland. The American military expends vast resources attempting to stop the creature, only for the reason for Bagan's arrival to become clear as Mt. St.Helens erupts to release Obsidius, who largely travels underground before smashing its way out of the earth and meets Bagan in a destructive battle in Ohio. Nuclear force is deployed, but Obsidius retreats beneath the Earth and Bagan withdraws to the sea.

January 11th 1956: The Soviet Union is not exempt from these attacks as a new Kaiju known as Lightning Bug makes an appearance in Leningrad, pounding its way through the Soviet Navy. However, a second Kaiju called Gamera arrives to drive Lightning Bug away in a destructive battle that devastates much of the city; both Kaiju retreat into the skies before reaching a safe distance for Soviet bombers to deploy nuclear force.

April 11th 1956: A colony of Meganulons lead by a fully grown Megaguirus emerge in the Korean countryside; causing widespread decimation as the KPA and ROKA in a rare moment of cooperation try to kill the swarm; however an alliance of two new Kaiju, Pulgasari and Yonggary manage to drive the swarm away with the Megaguirus seemingly killed by being burned to death.

July 17th 1956: An Emergency session of the United Nations is held for discussing what is a rapidly escalating Kaiju crisis, especially as it becomes increasingly clear that conventional military force is proving inadequate for the task.

September 30th 1956: Rio De Janerio is treated to the pleasant sight of Zedus emerging from the sea, having acquired a taste for human flesh from preying on Brazilian shipping. The Brazilian armed forces are repeatedly routed by Zedus who goes largely unopposed before finally withdrawing back into the sea after consuming what is estimated to be over a hundred thousand humans and killing many more with collapsed buildings and its fight with the Brazilian armed forces.

March 17th 1957: The British Royal Navy's sonar detects something massive in the channel and elects to engage with the aid of the French channel fleet. A vicious battle ensues as the two navies take on Crustaceous Rex who forces a landing in Cornwall before the world's first glimpse at mankind potentially not being alone appears as Megalon, the guardian of Seatopia; bursts from the ground to join with Crustaceous Rex in laying siege to the area. The two depart Cornwall and attack Britanny; where NATO forces are waiting, but are overwhelmed when a third Kaiju; Zigra, appears to join them. In their retreat back to the sea, the USS midway attempts to engage them, but is lost along with its entire carrier group when Megalon wades into the deep water to cut it in half with an energy beam, followed by Megalon, ZIgra and Crustaceous Rex destroying the rest of the carrier group sent to intercept the Kaiju.

September 20th 1957: Baragon and Barugon both appear in the American midwest, leading President Eisenhower to declare a state of emergency. But as they head south, they're confronted by the enormous rotting form of Grimmgarl, buying American forces enough time to evacuate the civilian population.

June 30th 1958: Obsidius and Anguirus reappear to engage in battle in the Siberian Traps, leading to the Soviet Union to try and destroy them by nuking them both; Anguirus was confirmed as surviving, but Obsidius was nowhere to be found until his later attack in Kashmir a week later.

August 15th 1958-February 2nd 1959: Canada becomes ground zero for humanity's first encounter with alien Kaiju as Demagorah, Gigan, and Megalon appear a thousand kilometers due northeast of Ontario and embark on a massive rampage; destroying everything in their path as the Alien Nebulans demand the surrender of the North Pole. However, another Godzilla; referred to as Godzilla Prime due to being the first of a different subspecies of Godzilla, appears, accompanied by Gamera. Reinforcement soon arrives in the form of Anguirus and Rodan, who engage the Nebulan military while a fifth Kaiju; Mothra joins the fray; forcing the Nebulans to deploy their trump card in the form of a pair of additional Gigans. Though Gigan 2at first helps sway the tide to the Nebulans' favor, Rodan and Anguirus return to attack the Nebulans' Kaiju, forcing a rout of the Nebulans while NATO sees the odd situation of accepting Warsaw Pact aid as American and Soviet bloc aircraft fly together against the Nebulan invasion.

June 3rd 1959: Obsidius appears in the Kashmir region after emerging in the Himalayas, drawing fire from Indian and Pakistani troops alike, with even Chinese jets attempting to harass the enormous rock monster as it is then confronted with the mystical guardian of China; the Fire Lion, who engages Obsidius in a fierce, stalemated battle that drags across many kilometers before Obsidius retreats back into the earth and the fire lion disappears as mysteriously as it appeared.

October 9th-12th 1959: Leif Ericson and Columbus Day is ruined for everyone when El Guasano Gigante appears in Guatemala and pushes northwards, disappearing somewhere in mexico and then reappearing again in the southern united states. Strom Thurmond among many others are killed as it rampages in Columbia of South Carolina, and the monster's proximity to a populated area makes Eisenhower reluctant to use nuclear weapons. However Godzilla Prime reappears, moving inland from the Atlantic ocean and handily drives back the enormous worm; earning him the sensational name of "king of the monsters" in a now famous news article showing it flipping the worm over its head.

October 30th-January 25th 1960: The Insectoid Nebulans deploy Gigan and a monster known as the Visitor to try and seize control of Japan along with an invasion force; but two new Kaiju, Ultraman and Zone Fighter; appear in time to thwart the Kaiju while Mothra makes her appearance to wreak havoc on the Nebulan assault force, leading to another swift withdrawal by the Nebulans to cut their losses.

April 21st-July 30th 1960: Forewarned of their arrival by Soviet naval forces, the Chinese army army joins forces with the Soviet army to prepare for the arrival of one of Seatopia's beetle gods; the enormous Megalon and their allies in Manda from the city of Mu and the vicious creature Dagahra. This time, Seatopia officially announces its presence and its hostility to the world of the surface dwellers, but this time Communist Chinese and Soviet forces are much more prepared than in prior attacks; having brought extremely heavy artillery to the fray. However, it's the appearance of Fire Lion, Pulgasari and Gamera that pushes the Seatopians back, while their military forces are pushed back to the sea by the PLA.

August 1st 1960: Nikita Kruschev makes a speech concerning what he calls the "greatest threat to humanity", which would be later called the "Common cause speech", requesting that the nations of the world try standing together in these trying times. But as he makes his speech, terror erupts in the middle east as the IDF spots the titanic form of Iracundus, though she initially diverts course to Lebanon, prompting the IDF to leave the Lebanese to rot as they try to force the titanic monster back. However, Iracundus marches southwards and the IDF is caught in a struggle with the creature that it cannot win. Whole divisions are wiped out before Iracundus heads into Jordan, where a British bomber finally mobilizes to deploy nuclear force against her; only to be shot down by her eye beams before it can arrive. Iracundus returns to the sea leaving a trail of destruction and a quarter of a million corpses.

August 15th 1960: Victory day celebrations around the world are soured with news of another Kaiju sighting as Titanosaurus emerges in the Black Sea and attacks Istanbul, with Obsidius tearing his way out of the earth following an earthquake caused by its presence to attack the European side of the city. Desghidorah also arrives from space and Lightning Bug from the sea, seeming to join the other two Kaiju in laying waste to the city. More than a million inhabitants of the city die, but more would have perished were it not for the sudden arrival of Mothra, Gamera, Anguirus, and Godzilla Prime who seemed to be attracted by the Kaiju. Gamera tackled with Titanosaurus while Mothra battled Desighidorah and Anguirus clashed his spikey shell with his electrified opponent, and Godzilla wrestled with his fiery opponent. The attacking Kaiju are driven off.

August 16th 1960: The first congregation of the church of Mothra is held in Istanbul.

November 8th 1960: John F Kennedy is elected President of the United States on a platform promising defensive spending, with massive increases in the American Anti-Monstrosity program.

December 11th 1960: The Nebulan invasion of the Soviet union and Europe begins as the Nebulans deploy Moguera, Gigan, Demagorah, Guiron and the Visitor are deployed to try conquering the USSR for the Nebulans' own purposes while Megalon, Titanosaurus, Desghidorah, Ikameijin, and Bagan are deployed to attack western Europe. Once again, Godzilla, Mothra, Gamera, Rodan and Anguirus appearr in the Soviet Union. Varan, Battra, Mothra Leo, Baragon, and Tornaq appear to fight the other thrust of the Nebulan invasion.

March 15th 1961: After numerous engagements with neublan coopted Kaiju and Nebulan forces, the Guardian Kaiju and the human militaries manage to rout the combined forces of the Nebulans and Seatopia and acquire a great deal of scrap for their own purposes; though the lack of American involvement in the defense of Europe has lead to many European nations deciding that they should look to their own defense as they study the remains of the Nebulans. The Soviets; with the acquisition of Moguera, also look into creating their own version; interested in an anti-kaiju weapon. Similar efforts are being made in the PRC, America, and Japan.

April 20th 1961: All contact with all antarctic research bases is lost as the continuation Reich decides to consolidate its grip on Antarctica with the increasing global chaos being used as a cover for Nazi activities formed by a cabal that made a secret pact with the Xiliens in the 40s, including the commencement of their own colossus and even Kaiju breeding programs.

July 4th-September 11th 1961: The Nebulan army once again strikes, this time deploying three gigans, the visitor, two Mugueras, Demagorah, and the Visitor and a host of other Kaiju meant to occupy possible interventions and a large invasion force attack and conquer what was once South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana and Rhodesia; Hendrick Verwoerd dies begging for his life before being disintegrated by Nebulan ray rifles and the Nebulans establish a colony that they settle en masse to establish a presence on the planet from which they can subvert more kaiju and construct weapons of war locally.

September 13th 1961: Britain unveils the world's first anti-Kaiju mecha ahead of expectations. Named the HMC(Her majesty's colossus) Queen Victoria. Fitted with a Nebulan derived power source and an array of powerful weapons and heavy armor, the Queen Victoria sparks an arms race of Mecha to defeat Kaiju; along with an array of smaller weapons such as the French MASER tank derived from Nebulan designs. At the same time, the Nebulans launch attacks into Angola, which is rapidly crumbling before their Kaiju advance while the rest of the continent struggles under the weight of a mass of refugees fleeing from southern Africa while the Nebulans begin probings of South America with air assets.

November 11th 1961: The Soviet Union launches the Lenin; based on studies of the captured Moguera robot. The Lenin is fully autonomous, and is accompanied by the Hammer; which is a piloted Mecha in case the Lenin's A.I proves to be less than reliable. The Lenin is equipped with powerful electrical and thermobaric weapons as well as a chest mounted railgun that can be deployed from the chest and both bludgeoning and cutting weapons for use in close quarters. The Hammer is identically equipped, but it somewhat bulkier to accomodate its crew.

December 1st 1961: Japan, France, and China enter the arms race within hours of one another, with Japan unveiling the size changing Jet Jaguar which while less fomridably equipped for ranged warfare than some of its counterparts, is both fully autonomous and is limber enough to engage in human like martial arts. China unveils the Steel Comrade, which is designed to focus on melee and taking hits more fragile ranged weapons platforms cannot, though it maintains a number of ranged weapons to deal with Seatopian or Nebulan combatants. France commissions the Jeanne D'Arc which incorporates powerful nuclear ordnance and GRASER weapons and is decried as being irresponsibly liberal with its usage of radioactive weaponry, to which President Charles De Gaulle dismissively replied "Better to die later of cancer than to die now of a giant foot."

January 20th 1962: America finally enters the arms race with the commissioning of the USC Davy Crockett, which packs a well balanced, take all comers package meant to handle any foreseen kaiju threat and be mass produced, with military planners envisioning the production of dozens if not hundreds of Davy Crocketts to ensure America's defense against giant monsters. Kennedy's approval ratings; having used considerable amounts of finance and his family's political capital to ensure the first Davy Crockett was ready for action. And not a moment too soon, as Obsidius has once again been spotted in America, this time near Dallas.  Kennedy, against recommendations pilots the Davy Crockett in its first fight with Obsidius and is mortally wounded, though Obsidius is driven back underground

-Western European Union

[I]With the withdrawal of American forces to better defend American shores, Europe has been left to fend for itself; whether it's against the Warsaw pact, stray Kaiju, the Nebulans or Seatopia.   Or whatever else may rise to the occasion to bring sorrow and devastation.  Primarily influenced by Britain and France, the WEU must stand together or face annihilation as the world goes increasingly mad with every single passing day.  And yet, many are looking into past legends to see if there may yet be guardian Kaiju like the Fire Lion of China while others entrust in Europe's military force to safeguard her shores.  [/I]

France:  Lead by Charles de Gaulle, France was quite pleased with the withdrawal of American forces from Europe, believing this to be the opportunity for France to form its own independent bloc and seek its own destiny.  That this took a number of attacks and conflicts with the Nebulans that caused staggering losses to the Americans and Canadians is of little consequence.  France is a firm believer in the power of the atom as a safeguard against any threat; whether its Soviet, American, Nebulan, Seatopian, or Kaiju.   However with the Nebulan assault on Europe still so fresh, many in France are demanding that the aliens pay in blood before their hold on Africa grows any more than it already has.

Britain: The world's first producer of Colossi, Britain is once again building up the royal navy to better defend its own shores and those of Europe as a whole.  Britain's current government has recognized that the split with America is very real and likely irreversible; even as it condemned America's withdrawal of troops from Europe and the functional end of NATO as anything more than a piece of paper.  Still, with the increasing refusal to share resources over the Atlantic out of both a need to protect their own and suspicion that America may be infiltrated by Nebulan shapeshifters; Britain has taken a leading role in ensuring Europe's defense and the promotion of its interests.

West Germany: Devastated by the Nebulan invasion, with Hamburg once again being devastated as Gigan destroyed the area, West Germany is a struggling state with many fleeing into France, the low Countries, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, or even east or just inland.  Still, Germany managed to recover from both world wars, and refuses to be bowed by the ever growing threat of Daikaiju and strange forces such as the hostile Seatopia-Lemuria-Mu troika and the Nebulans or even the forces of the Continuation reich that holds to principals that Germany has sought to break with.  Interested in creating its own colossi and manufacturing new weapons based on Nebulan and Seatopian technology; West Germany is about ready to announce the launch of the prototype for its  Stahlmenschen class Koloss.

Italy: Always something of a secondary power in European politics, the attack on the eastern Mediterranean states by Kaiju have caused a great deal of panic and disconcertation in Italy, even though it was subject to relatively light attacks by the Nebulans.  Though the Italian communist party is increasingly agitating for all the things it typically agitates for, Italy's government has embarked on defense spending unlike any seen since the fascist era.  With even the Mafia swept up in a wave of fear at the shapeshifting Nebulans and the threat of a giant monster unstoppable to conventional arms, the Italian state is in some of the worst panic it has ever had.  Currently looking to build its own Colossus, currently Italy's anti-kaiju defense relies on reverse engineered humanizations of Nebulan and Seatopian weaponry and hoping that they can drive away a Kaiju through sheer weight of conventional arms.

The Netherlands: Desghidorah's romp through the low countries has induced a widespread terror throughout the Netherlands.  Even more than a year after the first Nebulan attacks, the Netherlands remain terrified at the thought of anything coming from the sea.  Not only did the lesser Ghidorah raze the land, but it also pulverized the dikes that kept the sea at bay, flooding much of the country and killing untold thousands of people while the Nebulans brutally occupied the country for months.  Now under a shaky recovery; the Netherlands considers stopping monsters out at sea to be of the utmost importance for national security and has elected to fund a huge increase in its navy's capacity and to hold a contest between Colossi manufacturers to see who can give the Netherlands the best possible security.

Belgium: Also a victim of the Nebulan contingent vanguarded by Desghidorah, Belgium is housing a number of refugees from it's more devastated northern neighbor and is seeing an economic boom as Belgian industry is called upon to manufacture weapons of war; ranging from Centurion tanks to military jets and munitions.  Belgium is most strongly considering the French model of colossi for purchase, but there are persuasive arguments for German or British designs.
