  1. >trudging through the muk on Taris
  2. >fetid standing water, rhakghouls and their victims
  3. >Lana doesn't complain, so you don't either
  4. >kill 100 rakhghouls and complete what you came here to do, get back to the ship
  5. >notice Lana has a claw gash on her shoulder that she was trying to hide from you
  6. >tell her you should look at it, since you're a Consular
  7. >she says no, the Force will sustain her
  8. >as true as that may be, there's no reason for her to go it alone, you can make it easier
  9. >she says no, and that enduring hardships makes you stronger
  10. >sometimes you forget she's a sith
  11. >tell her that your relationship makes you both stronger, and that together you are greater than the sum of its parts and stronger than either of you could be alone
  12. >she realizes you're right, and shows you her shoulder
  13. >her robe is hanging low on her back and chest, but you don't look because your waifu is hurt and your mind is focused
  14. >you both sit quietly for a moment, your hands glowing a bit over the injured area
  15. >when the wound closes after a moment, you rub it a bit to make sure bloodflow is adequate and everything went back together properly
  16. >she exhales and relaxes her shoulders a bit when you rub the injured area
  17. >not in pain, but in what looks like relaxation
  18. >you realize you've almost never seen her actually relaxed
  19. >you decide to keep going
  20. >you start massaging around the injured area, but then slowly outward to her shoulder and back
  21. >she closes her eyes and leans back a bit, towards you
  22. >you've now reached her upper shoulders, a hand on each one, and are rubbing and squeezing and working knots out of her muscles
  23. >you can't help but notice there is a ton of tension in her back and body
  24. >her job probably involves constantly watching her back, other sith probably don't like her, both because of envy and because of her moderate views
  25. >realize she may have realistically never had a back massage in her life, or at least not from someone she could fully trust
  26.
  27. -------------------------------------------------
  28. >a couple days later
  29. >events on Iokath were stressful, but you guys made it out
  30. >next evening, back home on Odessan
  31. >give everyone some time off, everyone still recovering in the ways they know how
  32. >Gault is in the cantina swindling people out of hundreds of credits, until Hylo shows up and starts cleaning him out in return
  33. >Blizz is standing in a circle with other Jawas in the hangar, excitedly talking and quipping back and forth with each other, which worries you a bit so you tell Beywan to make sure no parts "gets lost" from any of the ships in the hangar
  34. >Torian is cleaning his guns, and actually seems the same as he always is
  35. >You notice Lana is nowhere to be found
  36. >after looking around for her in her usual haunts, like the CIC, and not finding her, you decide to check your room
  37. >Sure enough, she's sitting cross-legged on her bed, eyes closed and face serene
  38. >"Good evening, Commander" she says, without opening her eyes
  39. >"Hello Lana, enjoying your R&R?"
  40. >"I've never been one for idle time" she replies, flatly
  41. >Ohh, there must be something you like to do. Something that's not work related, that you simply enjoy?"
  42. >"I enjoy my work. I work and then I work more. A job well done is what I simply enjoy"
  43. >"You know what they say about all work and no play..."
  44. >"I do. But Directors of Sith Intelligence are exceptions to many platitudes"
  45. >"I have something in mind, if you'll humor me?"
  46. >"Of course, Commander"
  47. >"I told you, please don't call me that. At least not when it's just us"
  48. >"But it's cute when you get embarrassed"
  49. >so she does have a sense of humor....
  50. >you leave the room together, and she follows you through the hangar to the forest below the Alliance base. not far from your showdown with Volkorion actually
  51. >as you navigate through the trees, ducking below branches and around the foliage, she asks you if you found something out here, and if we should alert Ogorubb first
  52. >"not exactly"
  53. >as you speak, your destination comes into view
  54.
  55.
  56. -------------------------------------------------
  57.
  58. >a bright red square sits in the middle of a bright green grassy field
  59. >as you approach, you both recognize that the red square is a blanket, laid out on the grass, next to a large wooden box
  60. >right where you left it all
  61. >"What is all this? Who put it here?" Lana asks, looking around at the treeline, that starts about 50 meters from where the blanket is and forms a circle around the little clearing
  62. >the picnic clearing, if things go according to plan
  63. >"who knows? It could have even been the Force. I guess we'll never know" you say as the wooden box's lid gives a creak as you open it
  64. >from inside, you take out the two chilled glasses and the bottle of Corellian Ale you got Hylo to smuggle to you
  65. >it cost half your annual pay, but apparently it's the only bottle of its kind, and some fancy Corellian vintner who died famous in the right circles made it
  66. >Hylo suggested it when you asked...
  67. "Are you serious...."
  68. >"what?" you ask, suddenly worried she'll think this is all silly or childish
  69. >why did you think someone as serious and no-nonsense as Lana would enjoy this
  70. >she's going to think I'm dumb
  71. >fuck, why can't the Force rewind time
  72. >I wish I had just let her meditate
  73. >why do I always do this
  74. >I'm not cut out for this
  75. >dating is harder than fighting millennia old Sith
  76. >let me just fight Rancors or something
  77. >hopefully one attacks right now and gets me out of this
  78. >hopefully I'll get a quick death
  79. >"I love it" she says, taking one of the glasses from your hand and holding it tipped forward for you to pour the supposedly fancy wine into it; "This is great Commander, let's enjoy it"
  80. >you manage to shove the spaghetti back into your pants and manage to pour her a glass, despite your slightly trembling hands
  81. >you've handled being force choked better
  82. >hell, Volkorion babbling on inside your head wasn't even this stressful
  83. >as she takes a seat on the blanket and takes a sip of the wine, her face brightens up a bit
  84. >"oh! This was my mother's drink of choice. I had it often, when she was still alive. She would always grab a bottle from the vendor on her way home, and the three of us would share it that evening. How did you know?"
  85. >You were going to have a word with Hylo later....
  86. >"A lucky guess..."
  87.
  88.
  89. ----------------------------------------
  90. >a sith lord is acting against the Alliance, took some science teams/explorers hostage
  91. >normally just send a diplomat, the command personnel not even involved
  92. >but this one demands to only meet with Lana Beniko
  93. >apparently, he knew her on Dromund Kas and has a vested interest
  94. >he says to not bring any Alliance personnel or guards
  95. >hasn't killed anyone, so hopefully this is just some Dromund Kas politics ploy to get to Lana
  96. >but that's hardly reassuring, considering how Sith are always trying to kill each other
  97. >she decides to go, since we can't just leave those people
  98. >but she can't go alone obviously, that's foolish
  99. >you, Lana, Theron, and Hylo working on a plan
  100. >Theron naturally suggests various listening devices and covert agents trailing her in the city and things to that effect
  101. >Lana says that would be expected and found out
  102. >after a while of planning, every idea is not good enough
  103. >finally, the thus-far quiet Hylo chimes in
  104. >"Don't you Sith have slaves with you a lot? You know, carry your baggage, open the door, pour your drinks, those sorts of things?"
  105. >"Well, some Sith choose to partake in those practices, yes" Lana stammers, unsure
  106. >"Welllll? Why doesn't the Commander just pose as your personal slave? That gets her into the meeting without suspicion, and we get to see her in one of those cute dancer outfits"
  107. >You and Lana both blush and avoid each other's gaze
  108. >"I...suppose that might work" Lana says hesitantly, but then quickly adds "If the Commander is ok with it, of course"
  109. >"Of course Lana, you're the one who knows if this would work or not." you say, seriously
  110. >"Great!" Hylo beams with a smile, "It's settled then. I happen to have an outfit you can borrow!"
  111. >"Do I want to ask how that is?" Theron asks, sarcasm unmistakable
  112. >"Hey, you never know when you're going to need to steal from a lazy Hutt and need a way in!" she says, on her way out the door
  113. >"There is one part of this plan you might not like, Commander..." Lana says with hesitation
  114.

  123. >dating the Director of Imperial intelligence
  124. >waiting for her to get out of the shower so you can meet your reservations at a fancy restaurant on Dromund Kaas
  125. >her terminal is still on
  126. >decide to take a peek
  127. >find some work files
  128. >dossiers on all your Jedi council friends
  129. >pretty detailed, all the way down to what they eat for dinner and when they wake up and stuff like that
  130. >find your file
  131. >same sorts of things, where and when you were born, when you joined the jedi order, some of your missions you've been on, all pretty accurate
  132. >she's wrong about your favorite color though
  133. >last line in your profile is "pretty cute, for a Jedi"
  134.
  135.
  136. ----------------------------------------------------------------
  137.
  138. A quiet evening at Alliance command on Oddessan. After a night celebrating the Alliance victory over Volkorion, the music has died down and most Alliance personnel have gone to bed. Gault was one of the last awake, having gotten into an extensive series of games with Hylo. Not accustomed to losing, he lost more and more over the course of the evening, refusing to accept his losses, until he finally fell asleep at the table. An empty bottle and an empty cred stick his only companions.
  139.
  140. But now all is still, and only a few sentries stand at their posts throughout the base.
  141.
  142. Suddenly, the incoming unknown fleet warning klaxon blares, and Gault awakens with a start. With no idea who could be incoming to Odessan after the seizing of the Eternal Fleet, he throws his jacket on and rushes towards the command room.
  143.
  144. Along the way, ducking and weaving through Alliance personnel rushing to their assigned stations, he meets up with Koth and Senya who are heading to the same destination. The commander's quarters are on the way, so they'll meet up and continue on.
  145.
  146. But when they reach the Commander's quarters, they are empty. No sign of anyone, no sign of anyone having slept there, and no signs of someone having hastily left during the alarm.
  147.
  148. Theran steps up behind them, seemingly having had the same idea to meet up with the commander. "Well, I hope the alarm doesn't have anything to do with the missing commander" he says, as the quartet turn to head towards the command room. "Let's grab Lana and then figure out where the commander is".
  149.
  150. When they reach Lana's quarters, the door is closed. Normally, Lana is seemingly preternaturally ready for crises and events like this. It's very unusual for her to be slow on the draw to being ready. In fact, she's normally the one waiting for everyone else to get to the command center. But as they open the door, the answer to where the Commander is, and the question to why Lana isn't ready are answered simultaneously.
  151.
  152. When the door opens, the Alliance command personnel are relieved to see both Lana and the Commander alive and well. The other details of the scene, however, are less than reassuring.
  153.
  154. The apparent cause of delay was wardrobe malfunctions. As the door hisses open, Lana is in the midst of unlacing a black corset, a time consuming process. She looks taller than usual, which is quickly explained by the 6-inch heels on her feet. The black lacy stockings and long black opera gloves finishing off the ensemble. The commander is equally inappropriately dressed, wearing a dancer outfit like the dancers on the holos wear. Her delay seems to be related to the metal collar and chain around her neck, the lock of which seems to be jammed or stuck in some way, her facial expression seemingly one of annoyance as she fiddles with the key. As the door opens, both of them spin around in surprise, their facial expressions changing to a deer in the headlights look. "Oh shit" the Commander says quietly.
  155.
  156. Around this time, the alarm klaxon ceases. The PA crackles on briefly, simply saying "False alarm folks, sorry about that. Technical issues. Return to rest ready duties".
  157.
  158. All 6 people in the room are standing completely still, staring at each other, and not knowing what to say. To say the scene was awkward would be an understatement. The Commander's face turns bright red, and she eventually jumps off to the side into the bathroom. "Sorry guys! Be with you in a minute!", as if things were normal. Lana methodologically folds the article of clothing she was holding onto the bed, and politely says in a voice that betrays none of her embarrassment "Hello everyone. If you could excuse us for a moment...". The rest of the Alliance command personnel break out of their shock induced stupor and quickly apologize and step out of the room and close the door.

  166. >married to Lana for a few years
  167. >love her with all your heart
  168. >absolutely devoted to making these years the best of her life
  169. >always do nice things for her, help her with her work, give her back rubs when she's stressed, listen to her vent about stupid sith, generally be a very compassionate, considerate, and loving partner for her
  170. >meditate with her and grow in the force together, establishing the strongest force bond to ever exist
  171. >she smiles and laughs a lot more these days
  172. >when you first met she was a bit serious and work driven, but now she loves the walks you take together and the fancy romantic dinners you set up for her
  173. >this goes on for a few years
  174. >then one day, unexpectedly, you wake up and you are met with her beautiful blue eyes
  175.
  176.

  178.
  179.
  180. >married to Lana for several years
  181. >your force bond grows ever stronger over these years
  182. >it's gotten to the point where you can feel the emotions the other feels
  183. >you get butterflies in your stomach when you see her because you're so in love
  184. >she giggles when she feels it through your bond
  185. >she laughs and teases you over the fact that you're still so nervous and excited just being around her even after all these years, but she secretly thinks it's sweet
  186.

  189.
  190.
  191. >One quiet evening, at Republic Military Command on Courascant...
  192. >"Sir, the Bar'sen'thor appears to have joined the Empire!"
  193. >"What? That doesn't make any sense...why save the republic and the Jedi Order a dozen times over, just to defect?"
  194. >"I don't know sir, but she's not exactly being subtle about it. Reports indicate that she and that Imperial Intelligence agent she spends so much time with have been touring around the Empire, visiting...uh what appear to be vacation spots, sir?"
  195. >"What? There must be a mistake. She's a hostage, or she's being coerced!"
  196. >"Apparently sir, they had a very public wedding ceremony a few days ago...Master Shan of the Jedi Order and one of our agents, Theron Shan, were in attendance"
  197. >"Why am I only hearing about this now?!"
  198. >"Well, apparently they didn't attend as infiltrators....but as guests"
  199. >"Well call the Bar'sen'thor on the holo, I want to hear it from her directly!"
  200. >"right away sir....she picked up. Line's open Sir"
  201. >"What are you doing in Imperial territory?! I've been told you've defected!?"
  202. >The young woman on the other end of the call looks surprised, then laughs slightly,
  203. >"Oh goodness no, I'm still friends with you guys. I just have friends here too. Lana thought it would be a good idea to spend some time where she grew up. You know, introduce me to her old friends and stuff. I won't be gone long!"
  204. >A second woman comes into view of the holoprojector, puts her arm around the woman to whom the SIS Director was speaking, and begins to drag her away off screen
  205. >"I promise I'll call soon!" she says, half out of view, her voice trailing off as the call ends...
  206.
  207. ---------------------------------------------------------
  208.
  209.
  210. >spending time with Lana on Dromund Kaas after your honeymoon
  211. >fun days exploring the city, fun nights in her fancy apartment overlooking the rainy highrise buildings
  212. >your presence is technically supposed to be a secret, since the Jedi and the Sith would both object to you being here, but only some basic considerations have been made, like fake names and passports
  213. >one day, she comes home from work a bit early
  214. >she seems to be in a bit of a rush, and says that some Sith from work are coming by
  215. >"When?"
  216. >"They're in the lobby"
  217. >"Oh. I can try to escape, I've snuck past plenty of Sith in my day"
  218. >"I'm sorry honey, but you're actually as clumsy as an oaf. Besides, they're likely in the elevator by now, so unless you want to scale the outside of the building, there's only one way, and that's into them"
  219. >Ignoring the clumsy oaf comment, you look around for a plan. Even just a hiding place would be fine
  220. >"They might be here a while, since they're from another department and we're going to be going over the plans for several joint operations for the near future. Might take all evening. So hiding under the table or some such might not be viable"
  221. >"Well I'll just say I'm your cousin or something, and excuse myself to the other room"
  222. >"Won't work, the Ministry knows my family history and my living relatives. They would know it's a lie. I do have a plan though, if you trust me"
  223. >"Of course I do, Lana"
  224. >"Ok, wait here"
  225. >she steps into her bedroom for a few seconds, and you hear her rustling with what sounds like a suitcase
  226. >When she emerges from the bedroom, she's holding a dancer's outfit like you've seen on the Hutt holorecordings for dancing advertisements
  227. >"Uhh, what is that for Lana?"
  228. >"It's your cover. Metaphorically and literally. You can pose as my slave that lives with me and serves me while I'm home. Lots of Sith have slaves, and it won't be noticed. You'll be out of sight and out of mind serving drinks while they're here."
  229. >"I don't know about this Lana..."
  230.
  231.
  232. >"Hurry! Put it on, they'll be here any minute!"
  233. >You quickly undress from your loose comfortable robes, and stash them in the bedroom
  234. >Naturally, the dancing outfit is quick and easy to put on, since it's basically bits of metal and cloth held together by strings
  235. >Somehow, being naked in front of Lana was less embarassing than wearing this outfit
  236. >Having grown up in the jedi order, anything involving sexuality or nudity is new and scary for you, and now suddenly you find yourself waering this of all things
  237. >You faced down Rancors, ancient Sith lords, armies of Rhakghouls; and yet being intimate with Lana over these last few months has been one of the most frightening endeavors of your life
  238. >Not that you regret any of it, of course
  239. >As you finish dressing, Lana takes just a second to look you over
  240. >"Wow, better than I imagined"
  241. >"Hey! What doese that supposed to mean!"
  242. >"I mean it as a comliment love. But wait, there's one more thing. You know, to make it convincing" she says, with a hint of nervousness, or perhaps excitment, that is very uncharacteristic for the normally very urbane Sith
  243. >She steps very briefly into the bedroom, and you hear a jewelry box open and close quickly
  244. >She emerges with a golden metal band in her hands
  245. >The color matches the metal of the outfit, so you assume it's an asseccory, but it's far too thick and heavy looking to be a necklace, perhaps it's a garter of some sort...
  246. >Your thoughts are interrupted by Lana stepping over to you with a huge grin on her face
  247. >"The finishing touch! Your collar!"
  248. >"M-my what?"
  249. >"Your slave collar! It signifies that you are my property! You know, to fool our guests, of course..."
  250. >She's oddly enthusiastic about this, and she has a huge, suspiciously huge, grin on her face
  251.

  255.
  256.
  257. >A rainy night on Dromund Kaas
  258. >one can barely see 20 meters the rain is so heavy
  259. >thunder and lightning in the distance
  260. >A lone robed figure walking on the sidewalk towards a big tall building
  261. >wearing a black robe and hood so one could not see the individual or what else they were wearing
  262. >the figure arrives at the door and gives the gate guard a letter with an imperial seal on it, but says nothing
  263. >the guard reads the note, and opens the gate without a word
  264. >the lobby is red carpet and black furniture, with obsidian walls with alternating red and white lights for a dark atmosphere
  265. >the robed figure enters the elevator and pushes the top floor button
  266. >looking out at the lightning and rain outside as the elevator rises, the rocks and cliffs around the city edges are only barely visible in the weather
  267. >the elevator stops, and the doors open into a long dark hallway
  268. >darker than the lobby, the corners of the hall are in shadow and the floor is obsidian accented with red carpet
  269. >black statues on either side all the way down the hall
  270. >but the robed figure seems to know where to go, and follows the hall to the end, stopping at a large door
  271. >the oversized cloak stops waving behind them as they stop at the door
  272. >A press on the door's control panel, but no response
  273. >a second passes, then another, and the door opens
  274. >the robed figure silently walks inside
  275. >This room is brighter, with a red carpet and the same alternating red and white lights and black furniture as the lobby
  276. >a large obsidian desk sits by a window that spans the entire back wall
  277. >the robed figure walks to the middle of the room, still roughly 10 meters away from the desk at the end of the large open room
  278. >Lana Beniko swivels her chair around from looking out at the rain
  279. >the robed figure lays their hood back to reveal the Barsen'thor of the Jedi Order
  280. >Neither woman says a word, but they both smile to each other
  281. >The Barsen'thor lets the cloak fall the rest of the way off, to rest in a pile around her feet
  282. >The red and white lights circling the perimeter of the large room cast a glint on the gold bikini the Barsen'thor wears, complete with dark purple cloth and a shiny metal collar and several inches of chain hanging from her neck
  283. >With a smile, she begins to emulate the dancers on the holovids she studied for this event
  284. >The Director of Imperial Intelligence sits back in her chair to enjoy the show
  285.
  286.
  287. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  288.
  289.
  290. >There's a spy in the Alliance
  291. >everyone is suspicious of each other
  292. >for the past few days, people have been socializing less and sharing their work less
  293. >Lana's and Theran's agents have been monitoring communications, which is awkward since a lot of outgoing transmissions are personal messages to off-world family
  294. >no one is above suspicion, not even the Commander or her colleagues
  295. >Having some trouble sleeping, Hylo Viaz finds herself taking a walk around the base
  296. >Out of the corner of her eye, she catches a figure moving through one of the side hallways
  297. >In the darkness, she barely recognizes the Commander herself
  298. >Normally she would catch up to her and say hello, but given the circumstance of seeing her out at night during a spy scare, she decides to wait until she sees what the Commander is up to
  299. >She hates being suspicious of her friends, but "better safe than sorry" has saved her more than once in her life
  300. >That, and the fact that the Commander is wearing a dark jacket and seems to be nervously looking around a lot
  301. >Sure enough, after just a few minutes of following her, the Commander enters one of the less busy sections of the base that has areas still under construction
  302. >It makes no sense to be here
  303. >The Commander stops suddenly, and looks around a bit
  304. >Hylo hides behind some crates about 20 meters behind, still able to see
  305. >Another figure wearing a dark jacket emerges from some nearby shadows
  306. >When the new figure lowers their hood, she can see it's one of the Commander's colleagues, Lana Beniko
  307. >Hylo knows that Lana used to be director of Imperial Intelligence
  308. >Why is the commander meeting with an Imperial spy in the middle of the night in a dark corner of the base?!
  309. >Hylo's heart rate increases as her mind starts thinking of how people can even go about accusing the Commander herself, and what she can even do about this
  310. >Who would believe her? Everyone likes the Commander and they're one of the last people on the list of suspicions, even though everyone is technically on it
  311. >but just as she is lost in these thoughts, the Commander and Lana lean into each other and kiss
  312. >What
  313. >they're still at it, this kiss is clearing more than a greeting
  314. >Hylo is frozen, just watching them
  315. >after some seconds, Lana steps forward, still locked in a kiss, and the Commander finds herself bumped into a wall
