- >You kneel down to a glass viewing booth.
- >In front you is ghastly sight, the shell of your former love.
- >Her body is torn and contorted.
- >Unhinged, her flesh and organs hang against her ribcage.
- >Yet she’s moving, still breathing.
- >Flashbacks of the previous night come to mind.
- >Rumors of the changelings, missing ponies… It all floods back.
- >Luna’s guards … twilights long nights in canterlot.
- >Last night, terror came to Ponyville.
- >You place your palm against the glass.
- >You thought you could save her, but if it wasn’t for Rarity's magic, you would have died.
- >Tears fill your eyes as you look at this corpse shuffling toward you.
- >Just staring back with those glazed eyes…
- >What is it thinking?
- >Your Rarity, your once beautiful girl…
- “Until Death do us part…”
- >Last night, they broke down the door and came through the windows.
- >Rarity used all her power and encased you in a ball of magic.
- >How could you be thankful?
- >It was a front row show to her slaughter!
- >The shield of magic stood unphased while Rarity screamed in agony as she was eaten alive.
- >Soon after, she came to.
- >She crawled to you and sat inches away from the barrier.
- >Within the shield was her warmth and eternal affection.
- >It was as if Rarity was all around you.
- >That thing outside? That horrid thing, was death staring back at you.
- >You turned away….
- >The following morning Ponyville was plunged into a sea of fire.
- >Only you and the Elements, whether dead or alive, were left unharmed.
- >As you look at this thing staring back at you, tears begin to fall.
- >She slowly raises her hoof.
- >With a clank against the glass, she plants it in the center of your palm.
- >A shiver runs down your spine…
- >What is this…?
- >She then lifts it and runs it across her blood soaked coat.
- >...
- >You watch silently as she lifts her hoof again and begins to drag it across the glass.
- >Y...
- >Her blood stained coat.
- >O...
- >Her fucked up mane.
- >U...
- >The chunks of flesh missing under her cheek.
- >R...
- >The blood … all the god damn blood...
- >T
- >Those countless nights with her.
- >E
- >The kissing.
- >A
- >The loving.
- >R
- >The fucking.
- >S
- >Your body goes numb as letters form.
- >C U T
- >How could you have turned away from her?
- >L
- >How could you have thought less of her?
- >I
- >How could you let this come between those wonderful memories?
- >K
- >How… Dare you!
- >E
- >You’re left hollow as the last letters form.
- >K N I V E S
- >This isn’t how it ends, you have to fix this!
- >“I will find a way, Rarity! I’ll make things right, I’ll fix you!... Just have faith in me.”
- >She nods and lays on her belly, or what’s left of it, and rests her head against the bones of her forehooves.
- >You get up and leave the cell with haste.
- >Outside are the halls of Celestial castle.
- >If anyone knows how to fix things, it’s got to be her.
- >You storm through the castle toward her high chamber.
- >Theres is fear in eyes of the guards and citizens as you pass by.
- >Mares crying, fillies screaming, all able bodies covered in armor.
- >Outside are the sounds of explosions, you can’t possibly imagine what is happening.
- >You increase your pace.
- > Something strange catches your attention as you pass a corridor you've tread many times in the past.
- >You come to a halt and notice that the pointed arch windows are mortared.
- >it’s a good idea considering the Pegasi.
- >Reaching the spiral staircase that leads to her chamber, you notice no guards are keeping watch.
- >Figures…
- >You climb to the top without a moment of rest and finally, you’re at her chamber.
- >Light beams shine from between her double doors.
- >It’s ominous and scary, you almost don’t want to enter.
- >You take a deep breath then whip the doors wide open.
- >You’re blinded momentarily by the intensity of the light but your eyes quickly adjust.
- >The light of the sun is flooding in from her balcony.
- >Just sunlight?
- >The room is empty.
- >The light intensifies as you stumble toward the balcony.
- >You’d think it would burn but you’re left unphased.
- >You rest your hands against the stone railing and wait for your eyes to adjust.
- >Once adjusted, you’re left dumbfounded.
- >In front of you is a sun so large, it has taken up half the sky, and the whole world is red.
- >Glancing down is scorched landscape of canterlot.
- >The water run dry, the forest set ablaze, and… The undead trotting about unaware of their charred bodies.
- >You look toward your hands… Why are you unaffected?
- >Looking back up, you notice something coming straight for you.
- >You only have time to duck for cover as it rockets through the balcony, stripping the stone railing apart.
- >You turn to see… Celestia?
- >Her flaming fur and flesh is extinguished into a puff of smoke, her wings, larger than you’ve ever seen before, begin to crack and contort back to their original size.
- >You run to her side.
- >She turns to you as her body regenerates.
- >Her eyes are one of despair.
- >She looks at you, but it’s like her mind is out there, in the scorched heat.
- “Celestia…”
- >”I can’t win.. I can’t.”
- “Celestia.”
- >”She just keeps getting up.”
- “Who keeps getting up, Celestia! What the hell is happening?”
- >Her eyes are just staring out into the light.
- >”Luna...”
- “Luna, what!? What’s happening here?
- >”...”
- “Huh!? Where were you last night when all of Ponyville was killed!? When my Rarity was eaten alive right in front of my eyes!?”
- >She turns to you, her anger returning her to reality.
- >“WITHDRAW!”
- >You flinch.
- >”Your Rarity? Your friends!?” shes says frantically, “Are my students. My children! You couldn’t possibly understand! What do you know?!
- “Love! I Know Love! Do know what she told me?! Written from her own blood?
- >Celestia Looks back at you, her anger dulling to a question.
- “Your tears cut like knives.” Rarity is still in there! She’s still alive!”
- >“They are all like that!... Within the walls of confinement… Do not believe their lament, their lies!
- >Beads of tears form in her eyes. What has she been through?
- “Luna… You say it’s her? What’s wrong with her?”
- >”Luna?” she says as she gets up and walks to the balcony, her body set aflame again.
- >Celestia turns to you, the part of her face in the light is breaking down and regenerating simultaneously…
- >You look in awe.
- >”She is the source…”
- >Her wings begin to extend, she’s about to take off again.
- >No…
- >There are just too many questions left unanswered.
- >You can't let her leave... Not yet.
- >Before she moves any further, you try to get in her way.
- >”NO! You fool! You’ll…”
- >As you enter the light, to her asstonishment, your body does not burn.
- “Just give me a little more time, I can fix this!!”
- >You clearly see how lost in thought Celestia is.
- >She moves away from the light.
- >”What... Are you?”
- “I was wondering that, too. Can I be any help?”
- >”Your body has a resistance...The same can be said to this contagion. We must test this.
- “Would that involve me getting infected? If that is the case, I’m asking for Rarity.
- >”Hurry now, grab hold of my hoof, I fear luna may be back soon.
- >As soon as you have a firm grip, the whole world seems to collapse in on you.
- >You have no time to understand what's happening as everything turns white.
- >You feel your body unraveling… Then, you're back.
- >You feel you sick to your stomach… What just happened to you.
- >As if knowing your question, Celestia responds.
- >”Instantaneous transportation.”
- >You’re in the holding room where Rarity is.
- >”We will test two things, whether or not you will turn into one and if rarity will lose her appetite.
- “Princess, if I may ask, How are you not infected by butt dick?”
- >”Immortality is immortality. The only difference between me and these things that my heart's still beating.
- “Sorry, I don’t understand, are you infected?”
- >”Well yes. But to an immortal such as my sister and I, this would do no harm.
- “You’re saying that she’s dead?”
- >”Given enough trauma, an immortal can die, but it is only a matter of time before we come back. Luna has died and the reason eludes me. What I do know is that whatever it is infecting the land, it’s preventing Luna’s heart from beating.”
- >Can’t she revive her sister? Knowing Celestia that was probably the first thing that she tried.
- “Okay, how do we do this?”
- >”If I know myself then you have already done it.
- “What do you mean?” you ask confused.
- >”I may have been to first to think of it… Very well, we shall wait five minutes.”
- “Alright?”
- >”What I will do is send you to the past, just after you ask “how do we do it.”, once there, the past Celestia and you will observe what will happen.”
- >What….
- >”This is a small loop, I assure you.”
- “Can you explain it?”
- >”I would like to test this theory on you without harming you. Being a god, I can fully understand the change in reality when doing something such as moving somepony to the past… The only problem is that I will realize this after I send them. This means the loop will happen infinitely and have the same outcome. But… If I send you back to observe you, I will not have a reason to send you back.
- “...”
- >”It will become clear and I will prevent you from losing your memory next reality.”
- >It hardly makes any sense but you're willing to do whatever it takes to save everyone.
- >The five minutes are up.
- >Celestia makes a portal and you step inside.
- >You feel your body and mind ripping apart again.
- >You get out and fall to your knees, your hands preventing you from falling face first.
- >Looking up, you see you're in the cell with Rarity.
- >You look to your right and see Celestia and… You, your past self.
- >Is this what she meant? No matter, you have a job to do.
- >Sure enough, Rarity comes toward you and you can sense her sorrow.
- >You’d think she’s different, that maybe love would triumph… You were so wrong.
- >She jumps on top of you and you try to throw her off.
- >Instead, she tears your arm to shreds.
- >You kick her off, then Celestia teleports into the cell and creates a wall between you and her.
- >”FUCKING HELL! She fucking bit me! MY FUCKING ARM!”
- >Celestia stops the bleeding and you back up against the glass wall.
- >You begin to feel woozy and your head begins to spin.
- >You start throwing up… Are you turning?
- >Celestia watches you with pity.
- >Rarity paces back and forth.
- >Your head begins to clear.
- >You get up shaking and wipe your mouth.
- >You cough a few times.
- >You’d smirk, but none of this makes you happy.
- “I’m good-I’m good. Did I pass or does it take longer to turn into one of those things?”
- >Celestia looks back at you, hope brightening her eyes.
- >”You have made it, now we must see if Rarity is any better.”
- >She takes down the shield and Rarity jumps at you just like before.
- >Celestia stops her just before she bites your neck.
- >Her determination wavers “I was hoping for this to work…”
- >She teleports the both of you out of the room, joining the past you.
- >You and your past self look at each other.
- “What happens now?”
- >”Yeah, what do we do?” your former self asks.
- >”We wait for the five minutes to pass. At that point in time, I would have sent you back, but I will not. The future you will cease to exist , but with my magic. I will transfer him with in you.”
- >You look toward her in fear, your past self in confusion.
- >Celatia covers your past self under her wings.
- >You open your eyes to the white feathers of celestia's wings.
- >You feel incredibly unusual. You have memories of your… Future self?
- >Were you in there with Rarity?
- ”What just happened?”
- >”I protected you from forgetting the change in reality. Provided enough time, I may be able to conjure up something to revive Luna… But time… There is just too little.”
- >You look to the spot where you though you were.
- >There is no one.
- >You’ve just seen the extent of her magic… This is unbelievable. Why can’t she just fix the past? Prevent what happened to Luna… Prevent all of it.
- “Celestia! You’re a god! You can go back in time and fix thing! Right?!”
- >”Anon, it doesn’t not work like that. Moving me to the past is like telling YOU to move the sun. That it is beyond me.
- “Then me! Take me to the past, I can fix this! I will stop it!”
- >“Anon… Again, it doesn’t work like that… There are just too many variables. You almost collapsed from moving five minutes in the past, You’ll die.
- “Just take some of my blood if you get the time to make an antidote. I don’t know what use I have here, but maybe I can stop Luna in the past.
- >Celestia seems lost in thought.
- “We can do it just like before, Right? All I have to do is fix things, and if it doesn’t work then I can come here before you send me back… You can prevent me from forgetting this reality, and we can try again… Right?
- >”In theory, assuming you survive the trip, yes? But again there are too many variables, how are you so sure you wont make it any worse?
- “I don’t, but all I need to do is convince you in the past that this is about to happen. Right?”
- >”No, do not involve me. I need to be here in this time doing this exact thing if we are to have multiple attempts. I do not want to risk the chance things getting worse.
- “But if you know, we could shut everything down before it happens.”
- >”Or lose this opportunity…. May I see your hand?”
- >You’re confused, but you do as she says.
- >With her magic, She extracts some of your blood.
- “Is that enough to make antidote for Luna?
- >”Yes, but there is also another reason.”
- >Her eyes begin to glow.
- >”If we go through with this, that means you may already be here? I am searching to see if there is another you in this reality, dead or alive… For that, I need your blood as well.
- >She continues for a second or two then her eyes stop glowing.
- >“There is not, you will be the first. We shall wait ten minutes.”
- “Alright, Just tell me what to do.”
- >”Anon. This is a test run.”
- >You can hear the seriousness in her voice.
- >”I only want to you observe and find out what happened. Do not get involved, IN ANY WAY. I can not stress that any more... Next loop will proceed with me looking for you with your blood as I just did a minute ago. Ten should give us more then enough time to find you. At that point in time, we will teleport to you. and extract your information.
- “What if I am dead?”
- >”It may become difficult, but I may be able to extract enough memory to figure out another path for you next loop. If not, I have an alternative.
- “What is the alternative.”
- >”If need be, I will tell you next loop. Now last night around 11pm, around the changelings caves is where I noticed a change in luna. Soon after, I lost her presence… After that, she came back different.
- “What exactly was she doing there?”
- >”My Dear sister has been keeping a watchful eye on the changelings since they last attacked. What I do know is that the changelings were on the verge of another attack. It seem there is nothing that can fill their hunger…
- “That night, I mean, what happened that night, was she acting strange,or different at all?”
- >”Luna, above her responsibilities, is allowed to do as she pleases, She would almost always consult me of many matters… I including those that need not be discussed. I only found it odd she left the castle without notifying me. The castle guards informed me of a cheerful grin spread across her face.
- "That doesn't add up! Why? Why be happy!?"
- >"I know not... My dear Lunaris… Oh what happened to you..."
- >Her sorrowful voice hits you hard, but it strengthens your resolve.
- “Are we ready?”
- >”Here, Anon, this will keep your presence concealed.”
- >She nips the side of her wing and plucks a feather, then nods her head down for you to take it.
- >You it
- he does speak highly of the changelings, I could only assume she see something of her herself in them.
