  1. Axes
  2. Should to be lighter, ~0.5 for throwing/hand axes, ~1-1.5 for battle axes, ~2 for great axes
  3.
  4. Swords
  5. Sword, short should be ~.5 kg
  6. Sword, long should be renamed to sword, arming, weight should be ~1
  7. Sword, bastard should be renamed to sword, long, weight should be ~1.5, should be twohanded and not exotic
  8. Great sword should be ~1.5-2
  9.
  10. Maces
  11. Club should just be a light mace at ~.5?, heavy maces should be ~1
  12.
  13. Pole arms
  14. Halberd should weigh ~2
  15. Glaive should weigh ~2
  16. Shortspear should be renamed spear or long spear
  17. Longspear should be renamed pike, should weigh ~2
  18.
  19. Ranged
  20. Blowgun shouldn't really do damage
  21. Crossbows should generally be more powerful than bows, but take longer to reload. Should also be easier to use.
  22. Heavy repeating crossbows are not a thing
  23. Composite bows should only differ from non-composite bows by weight
  24. A longbow should weigh .5-1 kg
  25. Ranges of crossbows and bows should switch. Longbows had greater range than heavy crossbows due to an arrow being more aerodynamic than a bolt. A professional longbowman's flight arrow should in Edward III's time be able to reach 370m according to wiki, a heavy crossbow would generally be considered to have a a killing range of 275m and a point blank range of 60m.
  26.
  27. Shields
  28. Punching someone with a shield will do more damage than punching them. Shields should have higher base dmg than unarmed attacks.
  29. A buckler would be between .5 and 1.3 kgs.
  30. The weights here are odd since I'm not sure what a large contra a small shield would be.
  31. For reference, a hoplon, or aspis, as used by the classical Greeks is around 7 kilos which is considered a very heavy shield.
  32. A scutum, as used by the classical Romans, was about 10 kilos for the larger oval type and slightly under 7 kilos for the later rectangular type.
  33. A pavise (I'm pretty sure these are what Gygax&co called tower shields) is also around the 7 kilo mark.
  34. The quintessential large steel and wood shields would be the round centre-griped shield and the heater shield. Heater shields are 2 to 3 kgs, round shields are 2 to 5. A kite tear-drop shield would be around 4 kg
  35.
  36. Seems like weights should be reduced by about half in general, really.
  37.
  38. Armour
  39. Cuir bouilli is not a light armour, nor is it well suited for a rogue. It is stiff, cumbersome and noisy.
  40. Studded leather is a fashion accessory, not an armour type.
  41. Banded armour should be renamed laminar armour for accuracy.
  42. Scale armour is more protective than standard mail, not less
  43. Half plate is a term referring to the armour worn by late-period cavalry. It is not a hybrid of plate and mail.
  44. Padded gambesons are essential to armour, they're bulky but very effective at absorbing hits. Armour was generally worn outside the gambeson to stop edged weapons from harming the gambeson while it absorbed the force of impact and any arrows or bolts that pierced the outer layer.
  45.
  46. Mail hauberks were nearly as heavy as full suits of plate, and more cumbersome due to poorer weight distribution. A full suite of plate would weigh between 17-24 kgs, for reference.
