  6. part of speech = the different “kinds” of words, such as verbs, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs

  8. most adverbs are formed by adding -ly to an adjective:
  9. frequently, quickly, usually, noisily, silently, rarely, generally, commonly, nationally
  10. some adverbs are “formed” by not changing an adjective:
  11. fast, hard, early, late, daily, hourly, monthly, weekly, yearly (these are noun+ly adjectives)
