- One of the features listed of the newly evolved TrueOS from PC-BSD is a rolling release operating system and the retirement of freebsd-update in favor of pkg for system updates. Does this mean that, assuming that a TrueOS user only installs software using pkg, that he or she can keep a completely up-to-date system, both base OS and installed ports, by simply issuing pkg update followed by pkg upgrade? If that is the case, that's a huge usability win in my opinion for using TrueOS instead of FreeBSD-CURRENT for a reasonably up-to-date yet stable OS. Also love the boot environment approach which we're also beginning to see with Android and other systems for seamless, trivially reversible upgrades.
- There are a lot of Moores on the TrueOS team! You've got Kris, Ken, and Tim listed on the "Our Team" page of TrueOS.org. Are any/all of you related?
