Seeing Hohari's murderous intent, Sylina shoves her aside, bolting past the blast of fire to intercept on behalf of the last standing Chitin Clan member! "Enough!"

Sylina:
Sylina took 23 damage. It's not very effective...

Sylina:

Sylina: (( dam, -6 (waiting) ))

Aiteu the Clown:
"Oh my, surely a brave effort, but what does this result entail?" Aiteu peeks around the tree and takes note of the damage.

Xian:
Almost simultaneously with Sylina, a cloaked crusader leaps out from the trees and grabs the pushed Chitin member before she hits the ground! "...I agree. What the fuck is wrong with you, Rey?"

Hohari:
The ground is scorched, and the tree charred, but it looks like the flame was too hot, intense, and instantaneous to cause a blaze. The rain may also have something to do with it. Sylina's a little toasty, and the new intruder seems relatively unscathed(though he still got hit by the edges of the fire)

Sylina:
"That is not Rei - she doesn't carry an OUNCE of our leader's former spirit!" Sylina turns to Hohari, seething in rage, but not rly capable of doing much of anything. "I don't care about whatever status you may still have, I will NOT stand for you slaughtering people who have surrendered the fight!"

Aiteu the Clown:
Aiteu squats down carefully and stares at Sylina, "Surely, you're much more reckless than I, however commednable from any standpoint! Consider yourself rewarded." She pulls a Revive from her shoulder strap pouch and feeds it to brave dreg.

Yunao:
Yunao on the otherhand can't see what's going on and will remain whisper about genocide in his downed state.

Hohari:
Hohari, smolders with flame and anger. Her mouth spews rapidly darkening jets of blue flame over her bared fangs, "SURRENDERED? There IS no surrendering to me! I have not surrendered my contempt, so I shall not surrender my right to take her life!"

"You NEVER HAD ANY SUCH RIGHT!"

"Do not act as if you alone travel the high road, you scaley cretin! Vengeance lies in your heart as well! Would you so readily abandon your justice because of a word of surrender?"

Hohari:
"I know for a fact your green-haired friend would never allow any such thoughts to cross his mind!"

Sylina:
"My offenses go far, far deeper than simply being smacked around with a few rocks. If your honor can be impugned by something so trivial, then what value is there in it?"

Hohari:
"I AM A GOD! WHAT GREATER OFFENSE IS THERE THAN TO ATTEMPT TO KILL ME?"

"You abandoned any right to call yourself a god long ago."

Aiteu the Clown:
Aiteu tilts her head, "I suppose if the spirit of a god is placed into that of an mortal housing, would that make her more of a god or more of a mortal? I'm not well versed in such manners but it does intrigue me!"

Aiteu the Clown:
"I shall briefly excuse myself as I must go search for our fellow comrade. I shall return..." The clown slinks out to go find the green haired Hitler.

Hohari:
Hohari spews Prussian blue smoke from her pores, ears, and eyes, "Mortals such as you have no right to dictate what a god may be! You expect us all to behave the same! You hold us to your standards, judge us while we aid you! You treat us as your slaves, as if we exist for no purpose but to serve you and solve your petty little problems! Then you take it as some great offense when one is killed, surely because you've lost something you considered 'property', a beneficial asset, but you think a god cannot be offended at their OWN dishonor?! You are not a spokesperson for the gods, little girl!"

Hohari:
Her skin dances with flickering fire, sizzling in the rain

Sylina:
"This is a level beyond mere offense - have you killed so many as to be blinded by that? You are no slave, and you have not been treated as one by us."

Xian:
"...Hohari, isn't it. From the history books. Her and Hayashi were the reason that shrine was closed... Or so I've heard. I was never as interested in that..."

Hohari:
"Girl! From what I understand, you humans kill each other over much less! Verbal insults, spilled drinks, well-worded speeches! If one attacks me, no one has any right to tell me that I cannot retaliate in kind!"

Aiteu the Clown:
"Ah! I'm missing valuable conversation to revive your life threads Yunao! I shall be taking your Potion to apply it on your bodies, pardon me!" Aiteu swipes a Potion and sprays it on Yunao while having her head turned toward the debate, thus putting the spray on the ninja's face instead of his wounds.

Yunao:
Yunao is healed and gains 20 hit points.

Hohari:
"Would you rather I kill her later, more slowly and agonizingly?! Did you forget - we will be burning every last one of these abominations in due time!"

Hohari:
"A death by fire can be instant and painless, or long and torturous!"

Sylina:
"I've not forgotten YOUR intentions, no. For one who finds humans so interesting, you have a profound lack of respect for their right to live." hey bloodface guy you want an antidote bc like she probably needs one

Xian:
"That so? I'm sure Cahya will have something to say about that." The Chitin clansman carefully rests the girl on his shoulder, "Relax, Hekate. I'll get us out of here."

Hohari:
"Ha! Your companion holds an even greater distaste for these creatures. As for me, this clan has offended me, and so I shall eradicate it."

Yunao:
"God dammit, I was more woozy then I thought, did we win yet? I thought I saw something flying and blasted out of the air..." Yunao pull himself up from the wet grass.

Sylina:
"From the start, this has been a mission of rescue, not of slaughter!"

Hohari:
"GIRL, ONLY YOU ARE SO NAIVE AS TO BELIEVE THAT! Your cohorts hold no such illusions! You think the matron of Nimae will be satisfied if the Chitin clan sees no punishment? Your leader highly doubts it!"

Aiteu the Clown:
"The battle has concluded yes, but another conflict has become alight! It appears to be a non damaging exchange thus far, but may change in the future. Let us watch!"

Hohari:
"I peered into your minds while a goddess! Have you forgotten that these insects attacked full prepared to murder countless civilians if necessary?"

"You act as if you have some degree of moral fiber! Tell me, could you live with yourself if you let them walk free, and they razed another village? Let me stamp this problem here!"

Sylina stands firm. "I will not. Our presence is known, and we are weakened. The most sensible thing to do is to go to the village peacefully and negotiate the return of the prisoners."

Yunao:
"The hell is going on here?"

Aiteu the Clown:
Atieu meshes her hand into Yunao's cheek, "Sh!"

Xian:
"Sorry to burst your bubble, but broken as you are, your barganing power is a non-entity. You could be beaten down by me alone. Cahya won't give up so easily. She won't hand over her citizens..."

Xian:
"I will be frank - only a rung down from my brother and Cahya, I am the strongest living being on this island. My family always had potential."

Xian:
"And I have no intention of giving away my...potential future citizens."

Sylina:
"Is 'citizens' really a fair word for people who were taken against their will?"

Xian:
"It's true. We were taken by force...but we remain by choice."

Aiteu the Clown:
"Ooh how I could share the same outlook as you! I wonder if things would've been different..."

"I mean, I'm in a pretty fucked up state right now, but how the hell are we going to ask them to give back our people if they came out to attack us anyway?"

"An uncontrollable lust for power... feelings of abandonment or rejection in our old homes, an obsession with war...we all have our reasons."

"For me, it's the first. I would never have risen to power where I was...not in a timely manner. Not without my mother's death...and I didn't want to become the type of person who longed for that just for power."

Hohari:
"THAT'S ENOUGH! The royal brat has made his point clear! They are not going to surrender to a few choice words!"

Sylina:
"Would they surrender, then, to our beaten bodies? I doubt it."

Yunao:
"Like hell they would, they just say this shit when they're on their back foot. Pieces of shit."

Aiteu the Clown:
"I know this is a bit out of the blue, but I never did ask about the people we're rescuing... Surely they are of importance?"

Hohari:
"They won't surrender at all, you imbecile! If you truly wish to see your beloved prince returned, then we must take every opportunity to weaken them!"

Xian:
"Surrender will be a non-factor, if you keep up your infighting. ...I think I'll leave now, and let you take care of yourselves."

Xian:
The tall man crouches down, getting ready to pounce toward Hohari and Miyuki

Sylina:
Ignoring Hohari for the moment, Sylina addresses Aiteu. "Among them are the Low Patron of Nimae, the Matron's handmaiden, and one of the children from the abbey. If we could talk to them, at least, and ascertain their individual reasons for staying, open up a dialogue..."

Aiteu the Clown:
"That is quite a handful of people! Couldn't we ask Sir Xian to seek them out and then return home with their answers?"

Sylina:
"It would be far more comforting if we could speak with them directly."

Yunao:
"He could also lead us into a trap and show us their super wonderful surrendering techniques."

Aiteu the Clown:
"Surely, you're not a master of diplomacy Sir Yunao. With more matter in the might than the mind!"

"Although it does give us some benefits, it'd also them be rid of us and our troublesome brigading!"

"Surely you won't be carrying all the fallen comrades by yourself, yes?" The clown takes another squatting stance but turns her head toward Xian.

"Ah! I apologize, I had no intents on presenting any healing procedures as I'm actually out of stock! I merely wished to reduce the burden of carrying so many!"

Sylina:
"I can carry her. I'd actually rather you stay behind as the one level head, now that Rei's no longer with us."

Yunao:
"Wait you're actually being serious?"

Aiteu the Clown:
"I'm personally more of a follower anyway, shall I go fetch the rest then?"

Xian:

"Not a chance! For all I know this could have been a plot to distract me! I will not bring more enemies behind our walls while we are under siege!" He bends down and jumps, rocketing toward Miyuki and leaving big, lizardlike three-toed footprints

"Ruse? Did we have more allies? I... was not aware of such!"

"Could it be Yin's group...?"

Yunao:
"Yin...!?"

Xian:
"I won't presume you're involved, I've always had a distaste for that...but if you follow me, I won't show you any mercy."

Aiteu steps away and stares at Yunao, blinks with her faded pink eyes and directs her gaze toward Xian, executing the similar channeling/imprinting method upon the bitethetongue fellow.

"WHY THE HELL SHOULD YOU?! I still intend to burn your village to ashes!"

Aiteu the Clown:

The goddess' face contorts for a moment before she turns her head to the side and chokes out a spurt of flame and smoke, "Rrrrhhh...It was well within my dues to annihilate that woman!"

"Her body is my own, now, as soon as she regains the willpower for it. I could care less for the shell you inhabit, her spirit is strong within me. I stand by my actions, and would ask that you take a moment to reflect on yours. It's high time someone stood up to you after all these centuries!"

Sylina:
"If you have any rage left in you, save it for an actual threat, not a helpless woman, nor one of the people we came here to save." Sylina bites her tongue pensively. "I can't believe, though, that that man was the Patron..."

Aiteu the Clown:
Aiteu somehow crunches the Marble between her static teeth, "These are a bit more tasty then I remember."

Yunao:
"Yeah, what are we going to do about him? Beat him up and bring him back, only to have him flee and destroy shit?"

Yunao:
"Also, Aiteu stop stealing my shit!"

Hohari:
"I did what any human would! Your lives are fragile! There is no sense in allowing a potential future risk to live!"

Aiteu the Clown:
"As much as this heated argument makes for enlightening reports, I suggest we move toward an area that is out of the rain, yes?"

Hohari:
"You may believe YOURSELF noble, but the one you consider your 'friend' here has no such inhibitions! Those we fight against will not hesitate to kill me, and I shall return all affronts to my honor and personage in kind!"

Hohari:
Hohari exhales sharply, catching her breath, and creating a cloud of steam, "...do as you will. I shall remain here. I do not wish to risk this body more than I have done so."

Hohari:
"Perhaps that furry girl would have made a more stable host..."

Yunao:
"She's got a point you know, they're not better than we when it comes to fighting for a cause. They spew that, 'oh but we surrendered blah blah', like fuck they're going to do the same if the tables were turned."

Yunao:
"It's a goddamn war, a battle to the death where you don't get second chances when you're all in."

Sylina:
"Perhaps she would have, but we were not going to force her."

Hohari:
"This one's emotions run rampant. I commend this woman for her self-control..."

Hohari:
"But that does not matter! Away with you, I have no desire to continue this spat!"

Sylina:
"I think, perhaps, that you SHOULD fight Wei when this mission is over. Or at the very least, see which of you can create the biggest flames."

Aiteu the Clown:
"That skirmish can be held in the near future, Lady Sylina, what do you propose we do as of this very moment?"

Hohari:
"In the future, when I have a greater hold of this body, its capabilities, and its limits, I shall consider granting him that privilege."

Sylina:
"You heard the man - the forest is a maze, that only a member of the clan would be able to navigate. We should revive at least one of the other clansmen and have them escort us - perhaps, in time to prevent any more casualties."

Aiteu the Clown:
"I shall go fetch them I suppose!"
