Sep 14 20:32:02 <Complete_Zero>	Caspian clung onto the side of one of the buildings. He was a new boy - green eyes and brown hair. Athletic build. In fact, he was so new that hardly anyone knew about him, save for a few people, perhaps. Water floated around him in some kind of orbit, suspended as if it were in space. He didn't look particularly afraid that he was so high up. Actually, he looked really peaceful.

Sep 14 20:36:34 <Knave>	From above, a few flecks of cement fall onto his shoulder with a soft noise. Over the cornice of the building, two glowing amber eyes stare down at the boy from a hideously twisted face of stone. Straw-like platinum hair hangs down around the face, and sharp claws grip the edge of the building.
Sep 14 20:39:01 <Complete_Zero>	He looked confused at the falling cement. Because... well... first of all, he had no idea what it was. Just like right out of a horror movie, he looked up at where it seemed to come from and a face of shock befell him. Like a squid that had been threatened, he darted away - of course, there was no ink. But, there were bubbles. Little water bubbles suspended in the air.
Sep 14 20:40:49 <Knave>	The figure keeps watching him, unmoving. Then, it shifts forward slightly, swinging about the edge of the roof, to get a closer look. The reptilian pupils flit from the bubbles to the boy, and the head twists onto a side all at once. The beast grunts, then shifts back, looking off at the horizon.
Sep 14 20:43:31 <Complete_Zero>	The boy calmed at the sight of it looking to him and to the horizon. Obviously it seemed curious. He kicked his feet in the air and seemed to swim closer to the figure -just out of arm's reach. He gave a curious look and... a wave.
Sep 14 20:46:18 <Knave>	At the boy's approach, the pupils of the glowing eyes drift back towards him, but avoid his face, focusing on the waving hand. After a few seconds of motionless silence, the open mouth contorts to form the word, "Hello." sounding as much like scraping stones as the voice of a teenage girl.
Sep 14 20:47:27 <Complete_Zero>	He tilted his head at her a little bit and kept floating where he was. He tried signing to the girl, if he could possibly.
Sep 14 20:49:13 <Knave>	She watches the hands for a few seconds before slowly beginning to shake her head, a mild grinding sound coming from her neck. "Sorry. Don't speak that."
Sep 14 20:50:22 <Complete_Zero>	The boy frowned. He floated closer to her and pulled a chain necklace from under his shirt. It had his name inscribed on the pendant. Caspian, of course. Communication was going to be difficult here, too...
Sep 14 20:52:35 <Knave>	Her eyes move to the necklace, then she nods very slightly. "Gloria." She says in return. One of her claws lifts an inch off the edge of the building, then freezes. It's not obvious whether she's hesitating or if that's just how she moves, but a few moments later the arm jerks forwards towards him, offering a handshake.
Sep 14 20:56:59 <Complete_Zero>	Considering he was within arms reach so he could show her the name, he jolted out of the way of her hand and gently takes it in his. Needless to say, he is wet. Quite wet. Very wet. He gives her a soft handshake, he isn't used to that sort of social interaction.
Sep 14 21:00:53 <Knave>	For her own part in the handshake, she grips his hand - which is to say, her grip shifts into a solid shape that he can slip his hand in and out of - and barely moves her arm. After this goes on far longer than it takes to become awkward, she slowly withdraws the hand and then sits in silence for some time, eyes wandering the skyline. She returns her gaze towards him and finally coughs out "Do you like birds?"
Sep 15 00:46:25 <Complete_Zero>	Caspian gently retracted his hand from her... er... slot? My, that sounds sooooo dirty. He blushed at her handshake and simply floats to sit next to her. He waited for a moment for her to speak, and until she did, he glanced over at her a couple times. Caspian nodded at her question and gave a smile. He loved birds! Sky creatures were so cool.
Sep 15 00:49:23 <Knave>	Gloria's pupils flick over to watch Caspian nod from the side when she picks up the movement, and answers with a vaguely positive grunt. Long pauses seem to be pretty much standard with her. "I like watching birds. Feeding them." She makes another light rumbling noise, shifts her stance only slightly, continuing to crouch by the edge. "You can't talk?" Her voice is so unpleasantly gravelly.
Sep 15 00:51:50 <Complete_Zero>	Fortunately, Caspian has a lot of patience with people. He shook his head at her question. It seriously sucked that he couldn't communicate to her in some way. Oh! Wait! His water! He gets a bright idea and uses the water floating around him to form a word in the air in front of her. 'Mute'. It said.
Sep 15 00:54:21 <Knave>	She nods, mumbles "Right." Her focus shifts totally to the water suspended before her, keeping her eyes off the boy completely. "Good. I like my company to be quiet." It's possible she's smiling - her mouth doesn't seem to close and every shape it's capable of forming appears to be horrifying and unnatural in its own way. "Means you won't say anything stupid." In the last word, there's the hint of an English accent.
Sep 15 00:56:15 <Complete_Zero>	'Why would I do that?' He wrote out with the words. It required some concentration to do this, and making a bit more water appear from his hand. He... liked seeing her smile. The fact that anyone smiles when he is around in nice and refreshing.
Sep 15 00:59:00 <Knave>	"How should I know?" Her maw contorts again and her brow lowers, "Doesn't make any sense why people talk bollocks all the time, they still bloody do it." She shifts her head to one side, jaw wide, looking like the extended sentence - as long as it took her to say it - caused her discomfort.

Sep 15 01:04:28 <Complete_Zero>	That didn't shake his concern whatsoever. There was a pause as he tried to think of something to say. Caspian rather liked these long pauses. It was good so that he wasn't pushing something to tell people. It was easy to think. 'Gloria. You seem upset.'
Sep 15 01:07:14 <Knave>	"Bloody hell." She shakes her head reflexively, letting out a noise like if a mountain could gargle. "I told you I'm fine." Her head turns to him and her eyes run down his body, "Didn't ask you how I seemed."
Sep 15 01:09:57 <Complete_Zero>	Caspian frowned and his look of worry turned to apology. 'Sorry.' He wrote, looking down and away with embarrassment. He didn't want to make her mad... what was he doing? stupid, stupid stupid!
Sep 15 01:11:04 <Knave>	She shifts around, sitting down with one taloned foot resting on the edge of the building and one folded beneath her. She looks away from him, towards the opposite horizon, "Just don't do it again, eh?"

She doesn't have telepathy... she isn't looking at him... does he have to grab her attention? Why is he so horrible at being a person? While he thought all of these things, Caspian made the little ring of water make little water creatures... made of water. He smiled a bit when he looked at the whale... a fish and a dolphin.
Sep 15 01:16:42 <Knave>	Eventually, Gloria turns her head and the water creatures catch her eye. Immediately, she scoffs, like a cement mixer coughing. "Very good." She says, sarcasm but little malice in her unpleasant voice.

Sep 15 01:35:12 <Knave>	She watches the water animals burst with no discernible expression, then grumbles at length. "Sorry." She says, bordering on snapping the word, focused on the space where the animals had been.
Sep 15 01:37:45 <Complete_Zero>	He thought for a moment, before deciding to make peace. He moved his hand, palm up, in front of her. He was unafraid, not that he was challenging, but instead accepting of her. A small shark made of water appeared in his hand and it floated around the open palm before going to float around her. It was pretty good. Just like a real shark would swim.
Sep 15 01:39:52 <Knave>	Gloria watches the shark for a good few seconds, then shrugs her angular shoulders. She draws her knees into her and rests her arms over them. She nods and makes a vaguely positive throaty sound.

Sep 15 01:48:48 <Knave>	The hand catches her eye, and she looks at it. "What?" One side of her mouth curls up, and slowly and hesitantly she lifts one of her hands and places it in Caspian's upturned palm, shrugging as she does so, "This?"

Sep 15 01:54:16 <Complete_Zero>	He smiles even brighter and thrusts forward at her to pull her into a hug! Caspian must hug all of his friends at least once! That included Gloria.
Sep 15 01:55:06 <Knave>	It's like hugging a statue, not least of all because Gloria freezes, waiting for the hug to be over before she moves again. This was just something she could put up with.
