  1. WELCOME TO TILOSS!
  2.
  3. The gaudy pamphlet triumphantly displays its title over the top of the seat pouch in front of you, daring you to look inside. The kitschy design belies the simple fact that you and those sitting on either side of you, extending to every person in the bay, is being sent to war. Bloody, simple, war. Eventually, as topics of conversation run dry and cards lose their charm (however temporarily), curiosity gets the best of you. Inside is a short summary of the war you'll be fighting, and the men and women you'll be fighting alongside. The quality is typical for a pamphlet sent to the dogfaces, it barely has enough information inside to tell you much of anything. But it's better than nothing, and it'll keep you occupied for a few precious minutes.

  5. ---------------
  6. The Tiloss Campaign:
  7. The Tau Empire are expanding once again. With the Imperium stretched thin and enemies attempting to snatch up what they can while the Imperium's might focuses elsewhere, the Tau have moved into a few periphery systems near their current borders, including Tiloss.
  8.
  9. The Tau invasion initially swatted aside the Planetary Defense ships in orbit during the Battle of Tiloss Gulf, and a forward operating base was established just south of the northern arctic circle. However, Imperial Navy ships nearby responded rapidly and have fought the Tau invasion ships to a stalemate, hindering (but not entirely preventing) further reinforcement of ground troops. Tau forces have only been reported in the northern continent as of this printing. As a result, fourteen Imperial Guard regiments have responded to the call for help by Tiloss, and the native population is being enlisted in a planetwide draft to protect their homeland, and the integrity of the Imperium.
  10.
  11. TILOSS:
  12. Tiloss is a medium-sized agri-world focused primarily on Timber production, with taiga forests covering much of the planet's surface. Wood from Tiloss is sent all over the Imperium, and some varieties are prized by Generals, Inquisitors, and other people of import for luxury furniture. Tiloss also has a small, but growing mining program following the discovery of useful minerals near its polar ice caps. Mining production has started as a trickle, but is expected to improve drastically as infrastructure is built and population is bent towards the Mining operations.
  13.
  14. Tiloss' surface consists of two continents, one on the northern hemisphere and one in the southern. The continent in the southern hemisphere, Tilnora, stretches into the northern hemisphere past the equator, but not much further. The northern continent, Tilvarr, is entirely contained in the northern hemisphere and contains the planet's capital of Relethon, as well as its second largest city, Erly. Planetary temperatures are typically cool year-round, though the temperatures at the equator can extend to 75 degrees fahrenheit. Lows during winter months are often well below freezing, and cold fronts extend these temperatures to the equator periodically. The ice caps in the north and south have the lowest temperatures planetwide, and are considered extremely inhospitable during winter months.
  15.
  16. Tiloss' flora and fauna are typically peaceful, with medium-sized predators similar to wolves or large cats feeding on large herbivores, similar to deer or elk. While these predators can pose a threat to humans individually, attacks are rare, and movement in groups deters these predators. The native atmosphere of Tiloss has a composition that promotes vegetative growth, accelerating the maturation of plants and trees by nearly 11%. The atmospheric makeup has no effect, positive or negative, on humans. Effects on xenos is unknown.
