11/12 update

I didn't want to do much of anything this weekend and it was nice and quiet here so I decided to sit down and hammer my way through Yakuza Kiwami 2 instead of playing Red Dead Redemption 2, which has become something of a slog at this point. I ended up finishing the game and loved it, which brings me to 100 games finished for the year. So first some quick thoughts on Yakuza Kiwami 2:

Yakuza 2 is one of my favorite PS2 games. It fleshes out a very different part of Kiryu that the other games don't really touch upon and give him not just one but two people to match him in completely different ways. Kiwami 2 takes that and just makes the whole thing more emotional with obviously better visuals and whatnot. They took out one of the most annoying parts of the original game and added a whole bunch of generally great quality of life changes. In other words I think it's great. I'd consider Yakuza 0-Kiwami 1-Kiwami 2 an excellent trilogy that really brings a section of Kiryu's life to a close and I think people need to play them.

OK so 100 games. Boy that's a lot. How do I do that? Well, I work outside all day so I don't see anything wrong with playing games with all of my free time and it turns out that when you don't spend all of your free time complaining about games or posting on social media you can actually play quite a few of them. It also helps that a bunch of the games are very short, such as the individual titles in the Capcom Beat'em Up Collection.

Crazy good year, I'd probably only count Devil May Cry 2 HD, Shaq Fu 2 and Gekido as truly terrible games. If I get around to buying Quiet Man I'm pretty sure that'll get added to the pile.
