      with the question, "What if Tomoe Mami survived through episode 3?".

Text: When I was drawing this, I exercised some self-restraint and avoided
      drawing scenes as merciless as in the manga adaptation of the original
      anime. ...Or at least I tried to, but this work is just as merciless,
      albeit in somewhat different ways. I am truly sorry for that. I thought
      you might find it interesting to think about what is gained and what is
      lost in a zero-sum world where hope and despair cancel out. I would be
      thrilled to see this spinoff received as just another work that enhances
      the stature of the original anime.
