Name of the event: Cryptic broadcast

For who is the event?: It's for anyone that either receives the broadcasts and manages to decipher it or wasters that will serve as delivery for the man.

Any specific area required for the event?: No specific location, a remote RV would be placed somewhere on the map serving as the man's shelter.

What is the event about:
After the destruction of the Enclave's Oil Rig many Enclave personnel have scattered around the Wasteland in attempt to hide from various groups that were hunting them for their alleged war crimes and knowledge. One of such people was Thomas Kirkpatrick a former scientist. Now elderly and paranoid man, he fears prosecutions for his past life.
On his march through the wastes he often setup rag-tag temporal radio stations around populated areas broadcasting cryptic pre-recorded messages to any former members of the Enclave or people that he would deem educated and cultured enough to decipher his broadcast in hope of finding a safe haven among his former or equally intellectual people that would protect him from primitive savages and the unwashed masses that he sees as a potential threat and potential sell outs to the authorities. Of course, nobody ever responded to his broadcast and he had to move on after some period of time.
Upon reaching Mojave he did just like many times before, setting up a simple broadcast station only this time he has great shortage of spare radio parts and other essential supplies such as food. Due to his age and lack of applicable skills scavenging is out of the question, forcing him to send another series of broadcasts to the outsiders, seeking anyone to deliver him those much needed items.
These deliveries would also serve to him as a "news feed" to inform himself about local politics and factions and as an interview to determine whenever those delivery boys are to be trusted. (This would also OOCly serve as a filter to determine roleplay quality of the players to see whenever they take roleplay seriously or if they are only seeking items.) If they are deemed trustworthy and intelligent enough they might be given hints to decipher his broadcast.

There are two optional endings for this event:

Path 1: Somebody decides to rob or kill Thomas. Thomas would never willingly leave his RV, if somebody attempted to break in he would have to get through two traps, rigged shotgun and a grenade trip traps which could be fatal to the intruder and possibly to Thomas. In case thieves would success they would be given option loot Thomas's rifle and to remove the traps to gain said shotgun and a grenade.
Path 2: Once somebody deciphers the message he might decide to sell his location to some faction which could use Thomas's knowledge of Enclave and his research to their own benefits or execute him as a famed war criminal for propaganda and a morale boost.

Loot: Bottlecaps, possibly double-barrel shotgun, some "low-grade" rifle and a grenade.

Is this event one time only, or part of greater quest-line?: One time only, but might take several days to end.

Everything that you fill out will be ultimately decided by an admin, if you require some loot it might not make it there.
