  21. Greetings Kohai and welcome to the Ashuran Academy of War. This is where
  22. your next few years will be spent and you will learn much about the ways
  23. of the world, combat, philosophy, history and all that is Ashuran.

  25. Firstly, you need to note that all members Kohai and above must seek
  26. permission to leave the house. The oaths we take as Deshi are for life,
  27. and to be released from this oath is not something we take lightly.
  28.  
  29. Through the course of your training in this academy, you will complete
  30. three Trials and four Meditationals. The Trials are training
  31. confirmation points, while the Meditationals should be considered more
  32. as recognition of work. The purpose of this Academy is to build upon
  33. your foundational learning and to form you into a capable warrior, a
  34. courageous leader, and a true Ashuran.

  36. A key trait and hallmark of a good leader is responsibility. We have a
  37. responsibility to keep current with recent happenings, as well as to
  38. defend our Home. All Ashurans are expected to become Soldiers for
  39. Ashtan, and serve her without hesitation.

  52. A student of the Body will be instructed in the basic usage of combat
  53. skills and common kill tactics as they relate to different races and
  54. classes. As a martial artist, your first focus will be on your own
  55. strength and weakness and how to capitalise upon advantageous
  56. situations. The best warriors are not the most showy, but the most
  57. efficient. As a Kohai, you will be trained and tested in various one on
  58. one combat scenarios which afford a chance to hone your skills. You are
  59. expected to relish in combat and embrace your Body's survivability. As
  60. you take on the Tiger, you must forge your body to become a powerful
  61. weapon, capable of beating down all who oppose our will.

  95. conflict. We must stack our assets to our advantage and keep a cool
  96. mind, free of internal conflict when contemplating our opposition. You
  97. must be fully versed in our History, and able to deliberate on the best

  137. learn, you must now review again. You will need to look inwards and
  138. learn now deeply, to draw ten thousand lessons from a single one - but
  139. to know that one lesson well. A Kohai in this walk will now venture
  140. further into hostile territory, gaining experience with fighting as a
  141. member of a group, as well as tracking and eluding capture. As a student
  142. of the Spirit, you will begin the walk into leadership, and thusly may
  143. not be able to turn back, much as a dancing star cannot reverse its
  144. birth back into discord. Be bold, brave, courageous, and mold your
  145. spirit to become an unbreakable weapon, able to fight on when all else
  146. falls to pieces.

  192. - Sempai are expected to be competent assets and role models to the
  193. other Ashurans, and may be expected to assist in leadership roles. As
  194. such, the Respect Meditational requires Kohai to become an Aide for at
  195. least two positions, be they in the City or the House. Mentorship may
  196. also be considered as a substitute. Deposit 1,500 gold into the Ashuran
  197. Account after your Meditational has been approved.

  202. - We must all work to acquire the knowledge to defeat our foes. Kohai
  203. should begin seeking spars early on, and join the combat rankings. You
  204. should spar or duel no less than eight other classes. You should record
  205. these confrontations in a Journal, and discuss your strategies with the
  206. current Gunsou. Rampage and FFA spars will be considered as well.

  243. Kohai who have completed all Trials and Meditationals will be titled
  244. "Academy Graduate." Academy Graduates must be of CR2 and HR4 or above to
  245. be thought of for advancement. Before being considered for Sempai, you
  246. must approach and gain the approval of two senior members.

  248. Graduates to be considered for Sempai should request an interview with
  249. the Gunsou and should write a letter of application to the Archdragon,
  250. and the Gunsou stating their goals and how they will serve the Ashura as
  251. Sempai. Candidates should emphasise the Ashuran Ideals or Values in
  252. their letter.
