Starfox Adventures Review

I finally completed star fox adventures offline. I didn't feel like streaming the rest of it would be fun for others to watch since I suck at puzzle games and take a long (embarrassing) time to complete them.

Anyways, to put it short, I think starfox adventures stopped short of my expectations. I recently purchased starfox assault, maybe to speedrun, I'm not sure. I wanted to beat adventures to get an idea of what happened previously before I delved into assault. I remember it as a kid, and I thought it was pretty back then (at least I think I did). But that opinion of it has changed grinding through the game.

The story was actually not too bad in a sense. You have your classic baddies, and a goal through out the game to try and accomplish. The world is decently sized and is ok to explore. The biggest gripes that I have about the game is that the traveling in the game. It. Is. So. Slow....

For an example, you would need to travel to a village in the game for a quest, but the bridge to that village is out. Instead of having to go around the long way once and activating a new way to go back across, you are forever stuck going the long way around. Now, this wouldn't be a problem... if you didn't need to back track a ton in the game. Say you are halfway in a quest and in a cave that an NPC told you to go to. You could solve half of it before another NPC blocks your path saying you can't go any farther unless you go all the way back to the village and into the market (which the market has like ladders and stuff you need to go down to just get inside. Why couldn't they have just put a straight path inside?) then run ALLLL the way back to where you were at.

Another part that was annoying was hearing dinosaur language. It sounded pretty weird. Actually, a lot of NPC's sounded weird. The statue that is living to teleport you to other places has an Irish accent, like wut?

The last gripe I have with the game is the combat. All you do is mash A. No strategy really to it. Gets kind of boring to the point where I just try walking past enemies at all costs cause fighting is just stupid and boring.

The graphics are actually good in this game I think. My final statement about this game is that it was a game that had potential to be really good... it just wasn't due to how they designed levels.
