  1. Torben Analysis
  2.
  3. Set: Torben vs Blahguy

  5.
  6. Pros:
  7. •Great On Stage Play - Your neutral vs Blahguy was excellent with a mix of patience and over shooting. You had a lot of great openings that you got with your Knees and Stomps.
  8. •Solid Punish Game - Most Falcons tend to struggle with punishing floaties due to their slow fall speed and high priority aerials. You had great patience and nice Up Airs to get some combo strings going.
  9.
  10. Cons:
  11.
  12. •Questionable Off Stage Play - Your decision making off stage could use some improvement. Instead of trying to Knee Luigi when he missiles, go for a Back Flip Bair at the end of the missile. It's very simple and effective for edgeguarding Luigi. If the Luigi is recovering high with a missile it's difficult to reach him with a Back Flip Bair so it's best to wait when the missile ends and call out where he lands. If the Luigi is recovering low, watch out for when he Down Bs (if he has charged it). Just hold the ledge and refresh your invisibility in those situations to avoid a potential stage spike. The same goes for missiles and Up Bs. Up B can be difficult due to the potential of getting coin gimped, getup attack is a good way to reset the situation if you're unsure of edgeguarding his Up B. Misfires will occur so this doesn't work forever. If you're expecting a misfire it's best just to take center stage and punish the landing lag of the misfire.
  13.
  14. •Less Up Throws - Up Throwing floaties like Luigi around the 60s to 80s won't get you too far. Luigi can simply Nair and double jump out of the combo since he is too floaty. To be fair, this Luigi tried to challenge you with Fairs against your Up Throws. At higher level, Luigis will just Nair or Double Jump away from your Up Throw combos. Down Throw is your main combo tool in this matchup. Your only concern when using downthrow is reading when the Luigi tries to Nair out of your combo or his DI at higher percents. Up Throw only combos into Up Air reliably. It's limited compared to what Downthrow can do.
  15.
  16. •More Overshooting/Undershooting Aerials - Overshooting Nair, Knee, and Stomp is crucial against slow characters as Falcon. Aside from Luigi's long wavedash, he's not that fast. The only concern is knowning when to overshoot and undershoot your aerials. Overshooting Nair is excellent for closing the gap against Luigi and could lead into a grab or Knee. Plus you can control the tempo of the match with your overshooting and undershooting. Just be aware that Luigis will try to intercept by Up Tilting and aerial intercepting your jumps.
  17.
  18. Overall Gameplay:
  19.
  20. •You played pretty well the whole set, some matchup inexperience may have caught you off guard and forced you to play conservative. Just remember to control the flow of the match with Falcon's speed and have a smart off stage game. Hope this helps you out. Get some Knees and show your moves.
