- Even though the Computer Science and Engineering department is notoriously competitive, especially through direct acceptance, I still believe that I am qualified.
- The community within the CSE department is what most excites me about it. Not only do I feel qualified to share my knowledge and love of computers, but I also feel qualified enough to learn from this community of dedicated computer scientists and engineers. Having access to such a remarkable bank of knowledge is an experience I won’t be able to fully replicate elsewhere.
- I’ll be the first to admit that, in the grand scheme of things, I know virtually nothing. Despite this, I feel I know enough to decide that computer science is what I want to focus my life on. I know enough to have a burning desire to learn the rest of what is available, and I feel that the University of Washington’s CSE department is the best environment in which I could conduct this learning.
- Whether I achieve direct acceptance or not, I wish to benefit the University of Washington’s community at-large, in any way that I can. Learning is a shared experience, and I would love to contribute as early as is possible.
