  1. [17:32] <Gauss[DM]> Rick, you watch the boy pull out an axe that is double his height.
  2. [17:32] <Rick_Sanchez> "Overcompensating much?"
  3. [17:32] <Gauss[DM]> "I like to be prepared."
  4. [17:33] <Rick_Sanchez> "Whatever you say."
  5. [17:35] <Gauss[DM]> "I'm gonna have to scrape off some gore if you don't follow what I say."
  6. [17:35] <Rick_Sanchez> "Oh yeah, let me just drop everything I'm doing to listen to the guy who fights with pencils."
  7. [17:38] <Gauss[DM]> !roll 1d20+11
  8. [17:39] == Kaiserbot[Dice] [~Kaiserbot@50-233-23-131-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net] has joined #RPGStuck_WDYPTG
  9. [17:39] <Gauss[DM]> !roll 1d20+11
  10. [17:39] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+11 --> [ 1d20=19 ] | {30}
  11. [17:40] <Gauss[DM]> !roll 6d6+10
  12. [17:40] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 6d6+10 --> [ 6d6=26 ] | {36}
  13. [17:40] <Gauss[DM]> You see that your arm is cut off clean.
  14. [17:41] * Rick_Sanchez stares at his new stub, wordless.
  15. [17:41] <Gauss[DM]> "Does this convince you?"
  16. [17:41] <Rick_Sanchez> "I..."
  17. [17:42] * Rick_Sanchez can't get anything more out.
  18. [17:42] <Gauss[DM]> Mortysprite watches in horror.
  19. [17:43] <Gauss[DM]> As you drop to the ground, the boy walks over to you, and caresses where your arm used to be.
  20. [17:43] <Gauss[DM]> You feel something coming out.
  21. [17:43] <Gauss[DM]> Great pain strikes through the right half of your body, as flesh begins to grow out of the stub, eventually forming a new arm.
  22. [17:44] * Rick_Sanchez continues staring, then slowly takes a drink from his flask.
  23. [17:45] <Gauss[DM]> "Ugh, this arm is too weak. Guess it goes into the grinder."
  24. [17:45] <Rick_Sanchez> "THAT'S your way of convincing me to listen you?"
  25. [17:45] <Gauss[DM]> "Why, would you like me to slice off your head?"
  26. [17:46] <Rick_Sanchez> "I'd like you to make any kind of sense before you resort to killing everything that doesn't listen to you!"
  27. [17:46] <Rick_Sanchez> "That's the thing that separates us from the animals, and apparently you never got the memo."
  28. [17:47] <Gauss[DM]> "Hey, hey, I wasn't about to kill you there. Though, I did walk a fine line..."
  29. [17:48] <Gauss[DM]> The boy puts the fingertips of his hand onto his face, and stares up. "Well, you're certainly right, Mr. Frizzle. My sister's better at this sort of thing anyway."
  30. [17:50] <Rick_Sanchez> "If you're going to cut off my limbs and have there be no repercussions, you're giving me less reasons to listen to you."
  31. [17:50] <Gauss[DM]> "Well, I guess I screwed that up, didn't I?"
  32. [17:50] <Gauss[DM]> The boy puts away the axe.
  33. [17:51] <Rick_Sanchez> "Ready to be a person now?"
  34. [17:52] <Gauss[DM]> "Let's try this again, with more diplomacy."
  35. [17:52] <Gauss[DM]> "If you don't act as a server, your client will die out of the Medium. And considering how he's one of the players, things will go, let's say... troublesome."
  36. [17:53] <Rick_Sanchez> "Alright, fine."
  37. [17:53] * Rick_Sanchez checks his watch computer.
  38. [17:54] <Gauss[DM]> You see that you have received a connection request from a certain "smashedBirdbrain [SB]".
  39. [17:55] * Rick_Sanchez accepts the request.
  40. [17:55] <Gauss[DM]> ---OVER AT THE OTHER SIDE---
  41. [17:55] <Gauss[DM]> Qrow, you are sitting in the shelter when you see a ping from your scroll.
  42. [17:56] * Qrow_Branwen stops making eyes at the girl he rescued and looks at his scroll.
  43. [17:57] <Gauss[DM]> "tinyRick has accepted your request. Commencing connection."
  44. [17:58] <Gauss[DM]> A pesterchum chat window automatically opens as the game boots up, putting you and your server in a one-on-one chat.
  45. [18:00] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: Alright, let's get this over with.
  46. [18:00] <Qrow_Branwen> SB: Deal.
  47. [18:01] * Rick_Sanchez checks what happens after the connection is finalized.
  48. [18:04] <Gauss[DM]> You see five people in what seems like a small shelter. You see a teenage boy with blond hair with a lone shoulderpad on the left, a girl who wrapped herself in a white cloak, another black-haired girl with red eyes and a fierce-looking expression, and presumably her brother, who shares her first two traits.
  49. [18:04] <Gauss[DM]> There is also a brown-haired girl dressed in what seems to be a school uniform.
  50. [18:06] * Rick_Sanchez taps the screen of the watch computer.
  51. [18:08] <Qrow_Branwen> ((AFK))
  52. [18:08] <Gauss[DM]> ((cool))
  53. [18:08] <Gauss[DM]> A holographic UI materializes and circles the watch.
  54. [18:08] <Gauss[DM]> https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/mspaintadventures/images/2/2d/Sburbtoolbar.png/revision/latest?cb=20160216100413
  55. [18:08] <Gauss[DM]> ((pretend this is holographic and is around the watchputer))
  56. [18:08] <Gauss[DM]> Which button do you tap on?
  57. [18:19] <Rick_Sanchez> Deploy looks about good, Rick tries that.
  58. [18:23] <Gauss[DM]> You open some sort of window. "Your Atheneum is currently empty."
  59. [18:23] <Rick_Sanchez> Alright, Atheneum it is then, Rick tries that instead.
  60. [18:24] <Gauss[DM]> Same thing appears.
  61. [18:26] <Gauss[DM]> Rick, Mortysprite hovers over your shoulder
  62. [18:26] <Rick_Sanchez> Alrighty, he checks the Registry. Maybe he has to register something to be in the Atheneum.
  63. [18:27] <Gauss[DM]> You check the Phernalia Registry. There are several white machines on display, but only four items seem to be not grayed out right now: The Pre-punched Captchalogue Card, the Cruxtruder, the Totem Lathe, and the Alchemiter.
  64. [18:27] <Rick_Sanchez> Finally, something.
  65. [18:27] * Rick_Sanchez clicks on the first machine in the list.
  66. [18:27] <Gauss[DM]> You click on the Cruxtruder.
  67. [18:28] <Gauss[DM]> The Cruxtruder is unfortunately shaded red, and cannot be placed.
  68. [18:28] <Rick_Sanchez> Alright, then he clicks on the card.
  69. [18:29] <Gauss[DM]> You click the card. The card is shaded green, and can be placed anywhere.
  70. [18:29] <Gauss[DM]> Including Qrow's head.
  71. [18:29] <Rick_Sanchez> That'd childish and stupid.
  72. [18:29] * Rick_Sanchez puts it on his head.
  73. [18:30] * Qrow_Branwen blinks.
  74. [18:30] * Qrow_Branwen looks at the thing on his head.
  75. [18:32] <Gauss[DM]> You pick up the pre-punched captchalogue card.
  76. [18:33] <Rick_Sanchez> "Oo la la, so exciting."
  77. [18:34] <Rick_Sanchez> "There's a card now."
  78. [18:35] <Qrow_Branwen> "The heck?"
  79. [18:36] <Gauss[DM]> The pre-punched captchalouge card has a picture of a black kite on it.
  80. [18:37] * Qrow_Branwen turns around to look for the person who put it on his head.
  81. [18:38] <Gauss[DM]> Raven shakes her head, Taiyang says "Nope", Summer is asleep, and the girl puts her arm in the shape of an X.
  82. [18:38] <Qrow_Branwen> "... Huh."
  83. [18:41] <Rick_Sanchez> "Am I done now?"
  84. [18:41] <Gauss[DM]> "Nope!" the boy says.
  85. [18:42] <Gauss[DM]> "Need to place more machines."
  86. [18:42] * Rick_Sanchez groans, and tries to click one of the other two machines.
  87. [18:42] <Gauss[DM]> You click the Alchemiter.
  88. [18:43] <Gauss[DM]> It also does not fit in the shelter.
  89. [18:43] * Rick_Sanchez looks for somewhere there is room.
  90. [18:45] <Gauss[DM]> There's the outside.
  91. [18:45] <Rick_Sanchez> Sure, that works. Rick tries to put the Alchemiter down outside.
  92. [18:46] <Gauss[DM]> You put the Alchemiter outside.
  93. [18:47] * Rick_Sanchez goes back to the first machine, the Cruxtruder, to see if it'll fit outside.
  94. [18:47] <Gauss[DM]> It fits outside!
  95. [18:47] <Gauss[DM]> As does every other thing in existence!
  96. [18:47] * Rick_Sanchez goes to the last machine.
  97. [18:48] <Gauss[DM]> You select the Totem Lathe.
  98. [18:49] * Rick_Sanchez puts it near the others.
  99. [18:50] <Gauss[DM]> As Rick does all these things, Qrow, you hear the earth SHAKE.
  100. [18:50] <Qrow_Branwen> "... Welp."
  101. [18:50] <Gauss[DM]> It quivers to the extra burden it has been given in less than 10 seconds.
  102. [18:52] <Gauss[DM]> Taiyang gets up and goes outside.
  103. [18:52] <Gauss[DM]> "WHAT THE SHIT"
  104. [18:53] <Qrow_Branwen> "Dangerous to be outside, Tai."
  105. [18:53] <Gauss[DM]> "Right! Yeah, sorry."
  106. [18:53] <Gauss[DM]> He comes back inside.
  107. [18:54] <Gauss[DM]> "There are suddenly machines outside the shelter and I'm not sure how to feel about that."
  108. [18:54] <Gauss[DM]> Raven gives Tai a look.
  109. [18:55] <Qrow_Branwen> "Uh... huh."
  110. [18:55] * Qrow_Branwen reads through the next couple chapters of the walkthrough.
  111. [18:55] <Gauss[DM]> Which walkthrough?
  112. [18:55] <Qrow_Branwen> tentacleTherapist's.
  113. [18:56] * Qrow_Branwen takes a swig from his flask.
  114. [18:56] <Qrow_Branwen> !Roll 1d20 vs 12
  115. [18:56] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=8 ] | {8}
  116. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> "ey! uploader of this walkthrough here!
  117. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> I can't find what tT wrote, so I'll write Something here instead.
  118. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> The cruxtruder Is Counting down to A meteor that will strike your house
  119. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> and kill you. Though, it might be counting down to another disaster. Either
  120. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> way, you'll probably die! But Worry Not! Foe you have a slim chance of
  121. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> living!
  122. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> You'll need The server Player to deploy the Pre-Punched card that contains
  123. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> the Cruxite artifact. The Client will then need To Alchemize the item and
  124. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> use it. The artifact seems to be symbolic in some way and relates to the
  125. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> player, or I could be reading into this. Once you use your artifact, you
  126. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> will be transported to The Medium (tT explains more about that in the next
  127. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> section.)
  128. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> I'd also suggest prototyping the Kernalsprite. You can prototype it again
  129. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> later when you're in the Medium.
  130. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> Other Notes:
  131. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> I'd suggest prototyping your Kernalsprite with an object that resembles
  132. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> a living thing [Like a doll or figurine] or a living/ previously living
  133. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> thing [Like a dog or dead bird].
  134. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> You can Prototype your Kernalsprite twice after entering the Medium, or
  135. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> before entering the Medium, or Prototype like how I said to before.
  136. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> That's about it. This probably isn't explained well, but it's better than
  137. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> nothing I guess.
  138. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> ~jA"
  139. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> Gain one level of exhaustion.
  140. [18:57] <Gauss[DM]> Roll sanity against the incredibly over-the-place grammar.
  141. [18:58] <Qrow_Branwen> !roll 1d20
  142. [18:58] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=11 ] | {11}
  143. [19:00] <Qrow_Branwen> !roll 1d20 because Exhaustion
  144. [19:00] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=3 ] | {3}
  145. [19:00] <Qrow_Branwen> "This doesn't explain anything."
  146. [19:01] <Gauss[DM]> And then you read more chapters.
  147. [19:11] * Qrow_Branwen does read more chapters.
  148. [19:11] <Gauss[DM]> What do you do now?
  149. [19:12] <Qrow_Branwen> ... Read more chapters?
  150. [19:12] <Gauss[DM]> Roll concentration.
  151. [19:13] <Qrow_Branwen> !roll 2#1d20
  152. [19:13] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 2#1d20 --> | [ 1d20=9 ]{9}, [ 1d20=6 ]{6}
  153. [19:14] <Gauss[DM]> You lose focus halfway through the captcha code chapter.
  154. [19:15] <Qrow_Branwen> "Alright whatever."
  155. [19:15] * Qrow_Branwen takes another drink.
  156. [19:16] <Qrow_Branwen> !roll 1d20 vs 12
  157. [19:16] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=7 ] | {7}
  158. [19:16] <Gauss[DM]> Take another level of exhaustion.
  159. [19:18] * Qrow_Branwen flops over onto the floor.
  160. [19:19] <Gauss[DM]> "Good thing I had the fire extinguisher," Raven says.
  161. [19:19] <Gauss[DM]> "RAVEN NO!"
  162. [19:20] <Gauss[DM]> Your speed is now halved.
  163. [19:24] * Qrow_Branwen is flop
  164. [19:25] <Gauss[DM]> Raven holds up your head and slaps you.
  165. [19:25] <Gauss[DM]> !roll 1d20+3
  166. [19:25] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+3 --> [ 1d20=11 ] | {14}
  167. [19:25] <Gauss[DM]> !roll 1d1
  168. [19:25] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d1 --> [ 1d1=1 ] | {1}
  169. [19:26] <Gauss[DM]> Take 1 damage.
  170. [19:26] <Qrow_Branwen> Even thought my AC beats 14?
  171. [19:26] <Gauss[DM]> Negate said damage.
  172. [19:26] <Gauss[DM]> Fuck.
  173. [19:29] <Qrow_Branwen> "Raven no."
  174. [19:29] <Gauss[DM]> "Get up this instant. Stop drinking your ass off."
  175. [19:31] <Qrow_Branwen> "Fiiiiiine."
  176. [19:31] * Qrow_Branwen gets up.
  177. [19:33] <Gauss[DM]> You are now up, but as you stand up, you feel something pushing you out the door.
  178. [19:33] <Gauss[DM]> You are now outside.
  179. [19:34] * Qrow_Branwen goes back inside.
  180. [19:34] <Gauss[DM]> As you try to go back inside, you see Mint standing in front of you.
  181. [19:34] <Gauss[DM]> "Yo."
  182. [19:34] <Qrow_Branwen> "Hey."
  183. [19:35] <Gauss[DM]> "Need some help, Black Liquorice?"
  184. [19:35] <Qrow_Branwen> "... What?"
  185. [19:35] <Qrow_Branwen> "Qrow."
  186. [19:35] <Gauss[DM]> Mint sighs. "Geez, none of you humans ever have a sense of humor."
  187. [19:37] <Qrow_Branwen> "Uh... huh."
  188. [19:38] <Gauss[DM]> "Anyway! See that machine over there?" Mint points outside to the cylindrical contraption with a rectangular base.
  189. [19:38] <Gauss[DM]> It has a lid on it.
  190. [19:39] <Qrow_Branwen> "Mm?"
  191. [19:39] <Gauss[DM]> "I want you to shoot the lid."
  192. [19:39] * Qrow_Branwen shoots the lid.
  193. [19:40] <Qrow_Branwen> !Roll 1d20+5
  194. [19:40] <Gauss[DM]> Roll attack.
  195. [19:40] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+5 --> [ 1d20=20 ] | {25}
  196. [19:40] <Gauss[DM]> The lid flies off cleanly.
  197. [19:40] <Gauss[DM]> You hear something click in the machine.
  198. [19:41] <Qrow_Branwen> "Done."
  199. [19:42] <Gauss[DM]> "Great, now turn the valve and do your stuff!"
  200. [19:42] <Gauss[DM]> And with that, Mint is gone.
  201. [19:44] * Qrow_Branwen ... turns the valve.
  202. [19:45] <Gauss[DM]> A black cylindrical... thing pops out, as well as some sort of orb of light with some sort of black cloud surrounding it.
  203. [19:46] <Qrow_Branwen> "Uh..."
  204. [19:50] <Gauss[DM]> The orb of light begins to circle you, before finally making itself comfortable by your side.
  205. [19:51] * Qrow_Branwen has no idea what to do.
  206. [19:51] <Gauss[DM]> Rick, what do you do as you watch all this mess?
  207. [19:54] * Rick_Sanchez just watches, unimpressed.
  208. [19:55] * Rick_Sanchez sighs, and decides to message the person again.
  209. [19:55] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: Take the card and the totem to the machines.
  210. [19:56] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: You'll get something that tries to kill you. Try to kill yourself before it can do it for you.
  211. [19:56] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: You'll be fine.
  212. [19:56] * Qrow_Branwen reads the message and shugs. He grabs the card and tries to pick a machine.
  213. [19:57] <Gauss[DM]> Judging by a slot attached to the long machine with the clamp, it seems that's your destination.
  214. [19:57] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: Also you're supposed to throw something at the orb thing. Make sure it's something useful.
  215. [19:57] <Qrow_Branwen> Neat. He puts them in there and gets ready to shoot whatever pops up.
  216. [19:58] <Gauss[DM]> The dowel is carved into a CRUXITE TOTEM.
  217. [19:59] * Qrow_Branwen looks at the orb. Something useful...
  218. [20:00] * Qrow_Branwen looks back and forth between Clockwork Murder and his flask.
  219. [20:01] <Qrow_Branwen> Eh. He'll figure it out later. He takes another drink.
  220. [20:02] <Qrow_Branwen> !Roll 2#1d20 vs 12
  221. [20:02] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 2#1d20 --> | [ 1d20=8 ]{8}, [ 1d20=6 ]{6}
  222. [20:02] <Gauss[DM]> Gain another level of exhaustion.
  223. [20:02] * Qrow_Branwen stumbles over to the totem and pokes it.
  224. [20:03] <Gauss[DM]> Nothing of importance happens.
  225. [20:03] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: To the other machine, genius.
  226. [20:04] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: I can see where you got 'birdbrain' from.
  227. [20:04] * Qrow_Branwen stumbles over to the alchemiter.
  228. [20:05] <Gauss[DM]> You come across the alchemiter.
  229. [20:05] * Qrow_Branwen pokes it too.
  230. [20:05] <Gauss[DM]> Nothing happens.
  231. [20:05] <Gauss[DM]> Again.
  232. [20:05] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: For the love of...
  233. [20:05] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: PUT THE TOTEM.
  234. [20:05] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: ON THE MACHINE.
  235. [20:05] <Qrow_Branwen> SB: nothignh apened
  236. [20:06] <Qrow_Branwen> SB: oj
  237. [20:06] <Rick_Sanchez> TR: I'd do it myself if I could.
  238. [20:06] * Qrow_Branwen stumbles back to the totem and grabs it with both hands.
  239. [20:07] <Gauss[DM]> You grab it with both hands.
  240. [20:07] * Qrow_Branwen lifts it triumphantly
  241. [20:08] * Rick_Sanchez looks up from the screen.
  242. [20:08] <Rick_Sanchez> "And, this is worth my time how, exactly?"
  243. [20:08] <Gauss[DM]> The boy is gone.
  244. [20:08] * Rick_Sanchez groans.
  245. [20:09] * Qrow_Branwen takes the totem and falls in the general direction of the alchemiter.
  246. [20:10] <Gauss[DM]> The totem flies up into the air, then catches a perfect landing on the podium
  247. [20:11] * Qrow_Branwen is so good at this.
  248. [20:12] <Gauss[DM]> A laser pointer appears out of the alchemiter, and scans the totem.
  249. [20:12] <Gauss[DM]> After a few seconds, a kite appears on the platform of the alchemiter.
  250. [20:13] * Qrow_Branwen halfheartedly reaches for it from the ground next to the totem lathe.
  251. [20:14] <Gauss[DM]> You take the kite.
  252. [20:16] * Qrow_Branwen uses his other hand to reach for Clockwork Murder.
  253. [20:17] <Gauss[DM]> You grab Clockwork Murder.
  254. [20:18] * Qrow_Branwen tries to kill the kite.

  334. [20:53] * Qrow_Branwen looks at his surroundings.
  335. [20:54] <Gauss[DM]> You find yourself on some sort of platform, with metallic tiles beneath your feet. There is some sort of sudden depression in the middle of the ground, containing what seems like rails for a train.
  336. [20:54] <Gauss[DM]> And the train arrives. With a long squeak, the train comes to a halt.

  346. [20:59] <Gauss[DM]> The sign reads: "WELCOME TO THE LAND OF TRANSIT AND ROUTES"
