「ルーンを摂取する、という事は、正確はただの食事ではないのです」
"The act of taking Runes isn't the same thing as eating."
「じゃあ・・・・・・」
"You mean..."
「あなた方の言葉で言うと、セックスです」
"In the words you people use, it's called as 'sex'."
「セッ・・・・・・！？げじょっ、げじほ・・・・・・！」
"Sex!?! *cough, cough*"
何故か突然激しく咳き込んだ。どうしたんだろう？何か変な事を言っただろうか？
For some reason, he started coughing violently. I wonder why. Is there something strange in what I just said?
「私達マギウスの間で、ルーンとは本来、一方的に吸収したりされたりするものではありません。私達は、ルーンを交換し、融合させ、複製することで、新たな個体を増やしてきました。これはあなた方人間で言う、セックスと同じことでしょう？」
"Originally, Runes aren't just for our consumption. We Magius exchange Runes and fuse the said Runes to produce a new individual for our kind. Isn't that the same as you humans call 'sex'?"
「は・・・・・・はい、まぁ、その・・・・・・」

しどろもどろになったハルトさん顔は、ほんのりと赤らんでいる。これは、恥ずかしい、という事だろうか？よく分からない。
Flustering, Haruto's face turned into a slightly hue of red. Is this what they call as 'embarassment'? I'm not so sure myself.
「私達マギウスは、もう儀式なしでルーンを相手に送る事が出来ません。でもカミツキであるあなたなら、私のルーンを吸えるはずです。よろしければ、私のルーンを、少しだけでもあなたの中に残させてください」
"We Magius can't transmit Runes to someone without resorting to a ceremony. But a Kamitsuki like you is said to be able to take my Runes. If you don't mind, I would like to have some of my Runes remain inside you."
「ルーンを、残す・・・・・・そんな事が・・・・・・」
"Your runes? Inside me? What do you mean?"
今ひとつ信じきれていない様子のハルトさんに、実感として信じられるであろう事を一つ、教える事にする。
Haruto-san seemed to be in state of disbelief right now. I then decided to tell him what could be believed as 'feelings'.

「例えば、この戦争で亡くなった大切な方の存在を、自分の中に感じた事はありませんか？事故などで突然にその命を終えた人間は大量のルーンが残されています。そのルーンが死と同時に拡散し、私達マギウスは無意識にそれを吸収するのです」
"You could still feel within you when someone close to you passes away in this war, right? When a human suddenly dies, be of accident or something else, they still possess large amounts of Runes. On the time of their death, their Runes scatter which then unconsciously be absorbed by us Magius."
それを聞いてハルトさんがはっと目を見開いた。どうやら、思い当たる事があるようだ。
After hearing that, Haruto-san blankly looked at me. It seemed that something came to his mind.
「ルーンとは、その人のそのものです。その人の欠片、あなたの中に残っているのですよ」
"Runes are a part of that person. And traces of that said fragment is inside of you."
「分かりました。リーゼロッテさんのルーン、お預けします。えっと、どうすれば？」
"I understan, Lieselotte-san. I will take your Runes. But, how should I do that?"
「そうですね、口づけでもすれば、簡単だと思うですが・・・・・・」
"I believe it would be easily accomplish through a kiss."
「口づけ！？それは駄目です、絶対に駄目！」
"A kiss!?! No, that won't do! That won't do at all!"
両手をぶんぶんと振って否定するハルトさん。そのあまりに真剣な様子がおかしくて、はしたなくも小さく噴き出してしまう。人間にとって、口づけをかわすのはどんな相手か、そのくらいは知っている。
Haruto-san made his refusal more evident with the shaking of his hands. I let out a rude, small giggle from seeing his seriousness. After all, I have an idea of how humans think of what kind of person they're about to kiss.
「・・・・・・では、このくらいなら、よいのではありませんか？」
"Then, you wouldn't mind if it's just like this, right?"
私は、ハルトさんへ右手の小指を差し出した。
I then offered to him my right pinky.
「・・・・・・小指の先、くらいなら・・・・・・でも、僕達は噛みついたらそれだけで相手に乗り移ってしまうんですけど・・・・・・」
"Well, if it's the tip of your finger... But, if we bite someone even with just that, we'll end up be possessing them."

「それは多分、ルーンの扱いに慣れていないからでしょう。乗り移りは、自分のルーンを相手に送り込む行為です。そうではなく、相手のルーンを吸うことだけを意識して噛んでください。」
"That is probably due to you not being used in utilizing Runes. Possession is what happens when you send your Runes to someone. For that to not to happen, please keep in mind to absorbing my Runes as you bite me."
「わ、分かりました・・・・・・」
"I-I understand."
と言いつつも、まごまごと躊躇してなかなか噛もうとしてこない。きっと、ミハエルに引け目を感じているのだろう。
Even though he said that, he seemed to be confused and hesitant as he bit me. It's probably because he is afraid of Michael.
だから私は安心させるように笑って。
To put him at ease, I smiled.
「大丈夫・・・・・・口づけは、ミハエルのたまにとっておきます」
"Do not worry. I'll save my kiss of Michael's sake."
言った瞬間、何故だか、ひどく頬が熱くなった。
When I said that, my cheeks seemed to have felt hot.
