  1. My side: I created Congratsio with SRL's support/endorsement. It started as just a Twitter thing I did for fun using a Google form/doc and the Twitter account was called "SRL Personal Bests" (not Congratsio). Cosmo one day asked, (paraphrasing) "Are you keeping archives of all the PBs? That would be good for when we do the leaderboards." I wasn't at that time (just deleted rows from the Google doc as I went) so I spent like ~$100 and a lot (a lot) of hours getting a site created. Puchiedarcy, SRL's benefactor, also helped out by donating $60ish for the .io domain name last year (which I took as more indication of SRL's involvement).

  3. Cosmo messaged me in the SRL admin-ish chat I was a part of in Novemberish saying, (paraphrasing) "That submision form is really nice! It'd be cool if we used that for like the official SRL thing." At the time of the site's launch I had this page linked at the top: http://www.congratsio.com/request - you can clearly see this was the idea/direction I was always planning on working toward and that I didn't have any sort of competitive stake in leaderboards. Congratsio was part of SRL in my eyes. Over the course of December I talked with a lot of people on IRC in the #congratsio channel and the admin-ish channel about all of the things I was planning and working on. In early January I put out this pastebin outlining all of my plans: http://pastebin.com/T610RWi9 - I was working on all of these things and releasing the announced features one by one up until early February.

  5. Cosmo PMed me one night saying, (paraphrasing) "Are you seriously working on a leaderboard? That's always been something I've wanted to do." I reemphasized all of the prior points of my story about how I've made all my plans clear from the start and was encouraged to work on it by him and Puchiedarcy. Conversation ended with him being indecisive and me being pissed off. The next day I messaged Puchiedarcy who tells me about how him and the rest of the SRL OPs had been working on the leaderboards without telling me and that they saw me as a threat/competitor. I felt betrayed/unwelcome and basically said in the admin chat: (paraphrasing) "I don't know what's going on, but I really don't want to be a competitor. I will help with the leaderboards in any way and give you all my code, data, domain names, Twitter accounts, etc." Without a response, Puchiedarcy kicked me out of the admin chat. This greatly upset me. I logged off IRC and posted "Congratsio has been shut down by SRL." on Congratsio's Twitter (the twitter which was still called "Speedrunslive Personal Bests") and said my goodbye's to the SRL community on my personal Twitter: (paraphrasing) "Creativity is a product of love, not ambition" were my ~words of wisdom~ for SRL's future (which I had hoped to be a part of).

  7. This is my side of what happened. Cosmo/Puchie/other SRL people may have known something (or not known something) which caused misunderstandings... I don't know. Cosmo put out a pastebin of his side in February if you would like to read that, too.

  9. I didn't plan on returning to Congratsio, but lots of people were PMing me about it daily (usually 2-3 messages a day). I was talking with Minion on the phone one day and he suggested that I start it again since I still had all of the code. He said he'd help out and deal with any drama/backlash, so I eventually did. I haven't really put any work into it and wrote that message that's on the home page like 5 months ago saying, "Hopefully the leaderboards are out soon!" The fact that they aren't yet pisses me off. The Machinima thing pissed me off. I get the impression Cosmo doesn't really care about the community anymore, but that's just my POV.

  11. Do I "hate" Cosmo? No. As I said in a previous answer, I disagree with how he uses his fame/power. Personally I have no problem with him and I think he's a very talented and entertaining speedrunner.
