  1. [2012-12-01 02:57:04] * Kichaka hops off of Comet_Blaze's back, quite happy to have her hooves back on solid(ish) ground
  2. [2012-12-01 02:57:30] * Comet_Blaze sets down with a 'clop-clop' on the roof, bending down a little bit to let Kichaka off. "See? Easy as cloud bucking!" She grins happily at the feeling of being useful again. "So let's see if we can get inside from up here..." Moving to the roof entrance and reaching out a forehoof to open it.
  3. [2012-12-01 02:58:47] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The doorway leads to a dark stairway with cobwebs. Lots of cobwebs.
  4. [2012-12-01 02:59:40] * Kichaka peers at the cobwebs. "What are these? Some sort of bug poop?"
  5. [2012-12-01 03:02:05] * Comet_Blaze shook her head. "I dunno. Could be some kind of vomit I guess?" she moved fowards, reaching out to sweep some of the cobwebs away with a forehoof. "Oh, eeeeew. They're sticky and nasty and gross!" waving the forehoof around in an attempt to get the webbing off. "Let's... Let's try to avoid touching them. Sound like a plan?"
  6. [2012-12-01 03:03:41] * Kichaka nods, just a wee bit disgusted. "Yeah." Trotting a bit closer, she asks "So, what does a spider look like? Never seen one before."
  7. [2012-12-01 03:05:10] * Comet_Blaze opens her mouth to answer, then closes it again and taps her chin, frowning a little as she pulled her hood back with thoughtfully furrowed eyebrows. "I'm... Not actually sure. I thought you'd know." She doesn't seem actually dissuaded by the idea that neither of them knew for sure what they were looking for. "But I'm sure if we just shoot anything which looks dangerous we'll be fine,
  8. [2012-12-01 03:05:11] * Comet_Blaze right?"
  9. [2012-12-01 03:07:01] * Kichaka pauses to think, scratching her head through her hood. "Well, spiders are bugs, right? Hopefully they cant shoot back. I hope." She cringes a bit, and wrings her hooves. "Ooh, we are so dead."
  10. [2012-12-01 03:09:00] * Comet_Blaze grins a little bit. "Nah. We'll be fine!" She rears backwards briefly to emphasize her point. "I used to be one of the best of the Enclave's recruits, after all! And I've seen some plenty strange things. So I'm sure these 'spiders' can't be any worse than zombie ponies, flaming birds or ghosts, right?"
  11. [2012-12-01 03:10:34] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The two arrive to the third floor - administrative level. The corridor they enter has office doors on both sides, some of them blocked by large cobwebs. At the end of the hallway is another stairway down.
  12. [2012-12-01 03:10:44] * Kichaka balks. "Ghosts?! I think I'll take the spiders." She taps her brass horseshoes on the rooftop. "Hopefully these bugs go squish like everything else."
  13. [2012-12-01 03:12:44] * Comet_Blaze glances back and forth up and down the hallway briefly. "Hm." She heads towards the office doors without cobwebs, slowly opening one to check inside. "Administration and offices. Guess that makes sense." Tapping her chin thoughtfully. "I guess we should check them for supplies, before we head downstairs."
  14. [2012-12-01 03:16:17] * Kichaka nods, and mutters "Hopefully one of them was fat, maybe we can find a food stash." She trots after Comet_Blaze, peeking through the doorway, squinting in the gloom.
  15. [2012-12-01 03:17:36] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 As Comet_Blaze opens a door, a spider of half the size of a pony is there to greet her welcome. It is clearly not happy to be disturbed, and proceeds to attack.
  16. [2012-12-01 03:27:35] * Comet_Blaze shrieks in surprise as she gets launched at by the spider. Spreading her wings and quickly leaping backwards into the air, just a short distance off the ground. "Aghfhghargh!" She stammers af ew moments in surprise.
  17. [2012-12-01 03:27:58] * Kichaka squeaks!
  18. [2012-12-01 03:42:23] * Comet_Blaze wastes no time at all recovering from her sudden panic, wheeling around and biting the bit of her battle saddle to send two shots into the spider. Hopefully that'd be enough to rip it to pieces. She couldn't waste too much ammo, after all!
  19. [2012-12-01 03:44:48] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The spider takes one of the shots right between its many eyes, its "head" going apart by the blast of the bullet.
  20. [2012-12-01 03:47:02] * Comet_Blaze pants in surprise, slowly calming down and landing again. "S-s-spider. R-right. Big, hairy, sneaky..." She breathes slowly to relax. "Let's... Let's go on..."
  21. [2012-12-01 03:48:22] * Kichaka recoils at the spiders bits everywhere. "I... dont like spiders. Or this place. Can we go home now?"
  22. [2012-12-01 03:49:25] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 There are three more unblocked office doors in the hallway before the stairway downwards.
  23. [2012-12-01 03:50:52] * Comet_Blaze shakes her head. "Not yet. We've got to fix this place first." She re-opens the door and pushes past the spider remains to check the office inside for anything worthwhile. "We'll just have to move slowly and carefully. See if there's anything here which might help fix the factory."
  24. [2012-12-01 03:50:52] * Kichaka glares sullenly at the open doorways. "Spiders suck."
  25. [2012-12-01 03:52:58] * Kichaka lets out a long suffering sigh and follows Comet_Blaze's lead, shuffling through the room, looking for anything of use.
  26. [2012-12-01 03:53:47] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The office has a few file cabinets, a desk and a terminal - and a safe lodged in the wall.
  27. [2012-12-01 03:58:55] * Comet_Blaze begins searching the file cabinets. "Kichaka, think you can get the safe open?" She certainly couldn't. Was worth asking at least. "Might be something valuable in it."
  28. [2012-12-01 04:00:14] * Kichaka abandons the cabinet she was just peering into. "Sure, but watch the door. With our luck, all the spiders will come running when I open it." With that, she settles down in front of the safe and fishes out her tools, preparing to tickle the lock open
  29. [2012-12-01 04:03:08] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The safe contains a bunch of bits, worth 21 caps in the market - and what appearts to be a stealth device. StealthBuck, to be exact.
  30. [2012-12-01 04:04:13] * Kichaka squeaks and claps her hooves together, producing a metallic clink. "I got the safe open! Bunch of bits and one of those stealth thingies." She tosses the stealthbuck over to Comet_Blaze.
  31. [2012-12-01 04:05:39] * Comet_Blaze moves to catch the stealthbuck, frowning a moment. "Hm." she tucks it away. "I don't have my armor so its not useful to me. Still, might be good for selling or spare parts if we get desperate enough." She nods her head. "Let's move on."
  32. [2012-12-01 04:06:51] * Kichaka stuffs the bits and her tools back into her saddlebags and stands up. "Right. Lets see how empty the other rooms are."
  33. [2012-12-01 04:08:29] * Comet_Blaze moves back out in the hall, picking another door nearby to try. Carefully pushing it open and jumping backwards immediately incase there was another spider inside.
  34. [2012-12-01 04:10:38] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The room is empty of spiders, but has a bunch of spider eggs in it.
  35. [2012-12-01 04:11:41] * Kichaka sidles up to Comet, keeping an eye on the hallway. "Soo, what's the news?"
  36. [2012-12-01 04:13:22] * Comet_Blaze breathes a sigh of relief, frowning at the odd globby things in the room. "I think they might be eggs... We should probably destroy them too, if we're going to clean the spiders out of this place." She looks down to her guns, "I hate to ask, but do you think you could..." she mimes kicking with a forehoof.
  37. [2012-12-01 04:14:29] * Kichaka shudders, hoping sincerely they were eggs, and not something worse. She gulps and nods, moving forward to stomp all over the things.
  38. [2012-12-01 04:17:05] * Comet_Blaze stays at a credible range, covering Kichaka with her guns incase they -did- turn out to be full of some kind of mutant death.
  39. [2012-12-01 04:17:59] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The eggs turn into a pile of mush and fluids, not having any ready-to-hatch spiders in them.
  40. [2012-12-01 04:19:56] * Kichaka gags and backpedals the moment she finishes, and begins scraping her hooves against the nearest piece of furniture. "N-next time, can we burn them? I never wanna do that again."
  41. [2012-12-01 04:22:09] * Comet_Blaze shakes her head. "I didn't bring any torches. Or flamethrowers. Or explosives." She frowns. "Plus it might burn the building down." She begins to check over the rest of the room a few moments.
  42. [2012-12-01 04:24:22] * Kichaka flops down on her rump and begins rummaging through her saddlebags, that pink flash visible again. "Ohh, I know it's here somewhere!" After a bit more rummaging, she cheers. "Aha! Found it!" She presents a battered and scratched lighter.
  43. [2012-12-01 04:25:43] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The room is otherwise full of cobwebs, and the filing cabinets totally covered in them.
  44. [2012-12-01 04:27:28] * Comet_Blaze peers at the filing cabinets. Slowly moving towards them. "Uh... Get back. This... May not be pleasant." She gave Kichaka a few moments to get at a distance before pulling the cabinets open one drawer at a time, doing her best to stay out of straight line jumping distance from them as she went. Giant spiders -inside- filing cabinets. Awful.
  45. [2012-12-01 04:29:04] * Kichaka hastily stuffs her belongings back into her bags, then backs up, her cloak brushing against a cobweb
  46. [2012-12-01 04:35:54] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 Comet_Blaze goes through the files and finds 10 caps - and while she's at it, a spider walks through the door and glares at Kichaka as best as a spider can.
  47. [2012-12-01 04:40:46] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The spider tries to tackle Kichaka in front of it - and fails to do so.
  48. [2012-12-01 04:41:11] * Kichaka shrieks!
  49. [2012-12-01 04:41:33] * Comet_Blaze dumps her ten caps into her bag, turning around just in time to spot the spider behind Kichaka. But not fast enough to stop it's attempted attack. Instead she took the moment to line up her shots and tugged the firing bit again. The resounding blast of her rifles ringing a second time.
  50. [2012-12-01 04:42:32] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The spider's bits fly through the door into the corridor, clearly dead.

  55. [2012-12-01 04:52:20] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The spider's poison bags appear to be still intact, though.
  56. [2012-12-01 04:54:06] * Comet_Blaze trots over and offers a forehoof to help Kichaka up. "I'm not a fan either... But it looks like we'll be seeing more of them." She peers through the doorway and glances up and down the hall to see if another spider was coming.
  57. [2012-12-01 04:55:01] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 Towards the downward stairway, a spider is approaching along the ceiling.
  58. [2012-12-01 04:55:19] * Kichaka sighs. "Well, here we go again. Stupid spiders."
  59. [2012-12-01 04:58:17] * Comet_Blaze frowns. "I'm going to run out of bullets..." She moves into the hallway and again lines up with the spider moving along the ceiling, before yanking the firing bit.
  60. [2012-12-01 04:59:14] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The spider turns into plaster after getting shot at.
  61. [2012-12-01 05:00:24] * Kichaka pauses to stare at the liquefied spider. "Hold up a second." She reaches a hoof back and fishes around under her cloak, producing a zebra slicer and offering it to Comet. "It's not much, but it doesnt need bullets."
  62. [2012-12-01 05:02:52] * Comet_Blaze frowns a little and takes the slicker, holding it in her mouth a few moments and swinging it. "'m nof muf good wif dese." She frowns a bit, sliding it into a safe place between her gun and her saddle. "But it'll do in a pinch."
  63. [2012-12-01 05:03:51] * Kichaka nods, then gestures to the stairs. "After you."
  64. [2012-12-01 05:07:54] * Comet_Blaze slowly headed down the stairs, keeping her eyes out for trouble. "Nopony must have come here in ages... I wonder what the spiders eat."
  65. [2012-12-01 05:08:36] * Kichaka shudders and gulps, carefully following Comet. "I'm not sure I wanna find out."
  66. [2012-12-01 05:11:56] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The cobwebs start to cover every possible spot on the surfaces of the stairway as the two descend downward. They can hear gunshots and sounds of battle nearby.
  67. [2012-12-01 05:12:28] * Comet_Blaze twitches her ears slightly. "Sounds like the others found spiders too." Beginning to push her way through the cobwebs. "We'll have to be careful down here..."
  68. [2012-12-01 05:13:42] * Kichaka shudders, happy that her hooves are metal shod, she cant feel the cobwebs. "Do... do you think they're all right?"
  69. [2012-12-01 05:15:09] * Comet_Blaze waves it off with a forehoof. "I'm sure they're fine. There's lots of them, and most of them have been around the wasteland a while, right? I doubt they'd have too many problems with these things. They seem pretty fragile."
  70. [2012-12-01 05:17:13] * Kichaka sighs. "I guess so. Definitely been around longer than me." She hikes her cloak up a bit, so it no longer trails in the cobwebs.
  71. [2012-12-01 05:19:24] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The second floor is an open area, its dividing walls crumbled away. A lot of group of eggs litter the area - and three spiders are guarding the place, and sensed two ponies' approaching.
  72. [2012-12-01 05:20:04] * Kichaka eeps
  73. [2012-12-01 05:20:36] * Comet_Blaze freezes as she spots the three spiders. And the eggs. She wasn't going to waste any time at all, quickly moving to line up on her first target before they'd attack. "Kichaka, be ready!"
  74. [2012-12-01 05:29:21] * Kichaka shakes off her disgust and runs past Comet and straight up to the spider, kicking with her forehooves three times.
  75. [2012-12-01 05:31:01] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The spider's "head" caves in at the second strike.
  76. [2012-12-01 05:32:03] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The two spiders still left standing go for the zebra filly with fevour.
  77. [2012-12-01 05:37:24] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 One of the two manages to take a bite at the little filly's leg.
  78. [2012-12-01 05:37:48] * Kichaka sqeals in pain!
  79. [2012-12-01 05:39:17] * Comet_Blaze quickly lined up a shot on one of the two spiders attacking Kichaka. She wasn't about to abandon the poor filly to being eaten by over-grown arthropods! The loud bark of her twin rifles filled the room once, then again. Each time lined up carefully and each time on a different target. The spiders had proven imminently squishy before, no reason to waste ammo now.
  80. [2012-12-01 05:41:25] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 The one who bit Kichaka gets downed by twin bullets, while the other still stands.
  81. [2012-12-01 05:42:04] * Comet_Blaze bites her bit again. Click-click. Crap. Too many spiders. "Kichaka! Buck it quick!"
  82. [2012-12-01 05:43:21] * Kichaka roars and kicks one, two, three times at the spindly little monster
  83. [2012-12-01 05:44:53] <Waak|Overcolt> 06 One kick deals the fatal blow on the eight-legged creature, the second floor now clear.
  84. [2012-12-01 05:46:11] * Kichaka pants heavily, poking at her bite with a hoof. "I... really... hate... these things." Calming herself, she turns and looks at Comet with big eyes. "Can we go home now?"
  85. [2012-12-01 05:47:38] * Comet_Blaze moves up to Kichaka and nuzzles the poor filly's cheek. "Not yet... We've got to help Crimson however we can..." She looks up at the eggs. "We need to destroy these somehow..."
  86. [2012-12-01 05:49:26] * Kichaka murmurs at the affection. She fishes out her lighter and passes it over to Comet. "I'm not very good with these things, always end up nearly burning myself."
  87. [2012-12-01 05:50:42] * Comet_Blaze looks down at the lighter and frowns. "Still not sure that's a good idea..." She glances around at the surroundings. "I don't want to burn the whole building down..."
  88. [2012-12-01 05:51:17] * Comet_Blaze instead pulls the sword from her side, wading into the eggs and setting about hacking at them to break each one. This might end badly, but it needed to be done.
  89. [2012-12-01 05:53:18] * Kichaka watches Comet's work squeamishly, not trusting herself to open her mouth.
