  1. You are sitting at a local cafe with a girl you're rather fond of.
  2. Normally, a couple like you would be a dime a dozen, but there is something special about your date, Muramasa. Something that sets her apart from every other girl on the planet.
  3. She's a robot.
  4. How you two met and got to know each other is another story, but suffice to say you have grown very close as of late.
  5. In your efforts to teach Muramasa about human romance, you've happily taken on the role of her boyfriend, seeing sights and enjoying activities together. Really, barring her metallic makeup, the two of you are indistinguishable from any other young couple.
  6. Your coffee arrives, but Muramasa doesn't even seem to notice, simply staring off into space. She's been uncharacteristically silent all day. You aren't sure if she's just running slow today or if something's wrong, but you figure there's no harm in asking.
  7. "Something bothering you?" you ask her.
  8. "O-Oh, it's just..." Muramasa replies hesitantly.
  9. "You can tell me," you say. "Who knows, I might be able to help."
  10. "Well..." Muramasa mumbles. "There's something... I want to do... And it has to be with you..."
  11. "What would that be?" you ask her.
  12. With a slight embarrassed look on her face, Muramasa reaches down the front of her dress and begins fiddling around with something.
  13. You start blushing as well, unsure what to make of this behavior. Did she accidentally trigger "lewd.exe" again?
  14. Finally, with a loud *click*, Muramasa removes her hand and presents the object clutched in it to you.
  15. "What is that?" you ask.
  16. In her palm is a piece of machinery, the same color as her skin, with a number of wires and ports connected to it.
  17. "It's my power cell. It gives my body the energy to function," Muramasa explains.
  18. "Okay..." you say. "But... why? Don't you need this?"
  19. "From the information in my databanks on social interaction, there's a custom called 'giving your heart to someone,'" Muramasa answers.
  20. Your own heart skips a beat upon hearing this.
  21. "I'm not human, but my power cell is the closest thing I have to a human heart," Muramasa continues. "It's even kept in my chest cavity!" she giggles.
  22. If you didn't know better, you wouldn't know Muramasa was a machine. Her teary eyes and that smile that could melt the coldest of hearts are just as convincing as the real thing. Perhaps even more so.
  23. "I really like you, Anon," Muramasa says. "When most people find out what I am, they treat me differently, but not you. You're always nice to me. You treat me like any other girl and don't get scared of me. That means a lot to me."
  24. "Of course, Muramasa," you reply. "Human or not, you're a very special girl to me. The way I feel about you goes beyond flesh and blood."
  25. "That's why I want you to have this, Anon," Muramasa says. "I want to have a special connection with you just like normal girls and boys who love each other!"
  26. You smile and take her cool metal hands in your own. "Thank you, Muramasa. I can't just pull out my heart and hand it to you like you can, but I want you to know that if I could, I would do it in an instant. I'll treasure this forever."
  27. "Actually, could I have that back?" Muramasa giggles. "My battery life only lasts a few hours if I'm not plugged in or don't have my power cell."
  28. "Sure thing!" you chuckle as you watch her snap the device back in. "It's the thought that counts, after all!"
