If you don’t have enough SP for an earth tremor, it is faster to sweet treat rather than appeal for enough to do an earth tremor. This is also a good backup strat to regain HP/FP if you need it.
- Note 2: Jumping while waiting for the guards delays him from entering the room. Try to avoid doing any actions during this time aside from equipping badges/changing partners.

You just have to disobey what he says and figure out the fastest way to beat them.
- Note 2: Sometimes this fight will be Shell Shockers, although it is rare. This is bad luck and you just have to attack them until they’re dead. They do more damage when on their backs!

- You’ll want to manipulate your HP to be as low as possible and FP at least 3. You can rest up before Armored Harriers fight and let them damage you a few times to put yourself in a good position.
- Once you are back in minor league (deranked to #11), leave Glitzville
- In rogueport, if you still don’t have Mega Rush, check Charlieton again. If he’s not selling it, just head to east rogueport and go into the sewers.
- Head down to the room with the big yellow block and 2 blue switches and open Chapter 2 (left pipe).
- Chapter 2 (part 2)
- Head down in The Great Tree to the cage room and break the floor panel inside the cage. This will revert the game back to chapter 2. Leave the way you came from and head back to Glitzville. Open Chapter 1 pipe on your way back.
- IMPORTANT: If you are not at 1HP, fall in the sewer water to put yourself in peril. If you do not have at least 3 FP, buy a honey syrup from the Rogueport shop and use that.
- Check Charlieton again on your way back. If he’s still not selling it (that jerk) then go to the train/blimp area to reset what he’s selling and come back and check. Keep doing this until he has it.
- Chapter 3 (part 2)
- When you restart chapter 3, it’s kind of hard to explain what to do with the text, but basically you want to advance one text box as another comes on screen to delay the opening cutscene and let the yoshi egg cutscene finish out first.

- If you did it right, the Rawk Hawk cutscene in the ring will happen. This means you correctly reverted the game to the beginning of Chapter 3.
- Go to Grubba’s office just like before. When he’s walking to the Champion room, you’ll run into a guard before the cutscene takes you. This is normal.
- When he asks you to sign up to be a fighter, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SIGN UP.
- Get the star piece from behind the plant
- Now you can walk around his room. Do Bookcase Jump and walk into the vent
- Go to Grubba’s office from vent, check the desk (YOU HAVE TO DO THIS OR YOU SOFTLOCK) and chase after him

- Note: You can use Yoshi to make the tiles move quickly. Just hop on yoshi, run on the tiles, and hop off. It helps to know the pattern of the room so you stay on the lit panels.

- Note: You can hover from the card key platform to get on top of the save block, at which point you should hover to the heal block, and then perform a spring jump to get to the moving platform. This will skip going through the background again. If you can’t get on top of the save block, you will probably have to fight the Z-Yux so he doesn’t first attack you. If you stand directly to the right of the heal block, you can time a spring jump to get up to the moving platform, but the moving platforms are off screen.
