  6. @ffec+ __ There may not be any victims who come forward if they are all located overseas, especially in regions that don't speak much English. It makes sense that intelligent and organised abusers would do their deeds with impunity on foreign soil against a population that many don't care about.
  7.
  8. Then again, we have in recent times been given all the necessary "ingredients" to cook up in our imagination a most exquisite nightmare. From the joke Stewie made on Family Guy to the sordid tales about "pizza-gate". Perhaps we have been primed for what's happening. It is almost _too easy_ to hate on Mr Spacey, just as it's too easy to look at his past television appearances and notice hints, clues, and innuendo.
  9.
  10. All it took was one unsubstantiated allegation from 30 years ago and Kevin Spacey's career is over? Such power the victim always had! And if Hollywood is really built upon creating victims as the recent "Harvey Weinstein" drama suggests: then my oh my, what a fragile House of Cards! How amazing it didn't topple a year ago, ten years ago, or twenty years ago.

  16.
  17. +Monica Angelini __ Would you agree that a natural response to have upon noticing a man hanging around a public toilet is that he could be some kind of sexual deviant? Or in your mind is there more often than not an innocent explanation for such behaviour?
  18.
  19. Tell me, do you think any non deviant men in their mid 20s would ever find themselves "accidentally isolating" and then drunkenly grinding against 14 year old boys in their bed? Keep in mind that Kevin Spacey did not deny the allegation. He didn't say: "I don't remember that, and it doesn't sound like something I'd ever do".
  20.
  21. I wonder: would your attitude towards this allegation be any different if the 14 year old boy didn't have the good sense to flee, and instead submitted to Mr Spacey's "drunken" urges? The only reason you're defending Mr Spacey is because a 14 year old fled a bad situation.
  22.
  23. Had Mr Spacey gotten to do what he seemingly wanted to do - would he still be innocent in your mind? Would you excuse his actions because "he was drunk and alcohol sometimes makes us do regrettable things"? Again - how many non deviant men in their mid 20s would find themselves getting drunk and doing the kind of thing that's alleged against Mr Spacey?
  24.
  25. I would agree with you if Mr Spacey had unequivocally denied the allegation, _but he didn't._ Instead, Mr Spacey has left the door open to the possibility it really did happen the way the victim has described.

  32. +Mia Wait __ Given that "Kevin Spacey" hasn't denied the core allegation, and given that his carefully worded response left the door open to the possibility his accuser told the truth - are you surprised? Or are you just pretending to be surprised that there would be people accusing him of things that, in hindsight, seems to have been hinted at in his past TV appearances?

  37.
  38. +Monica Angelini __ You are upset that others are speculating while at the same time claiming Anthony Rapp invented his accusation! (You wrote that Kevin Spacey didn't have to deny anything because nothing happened.)
  39.

  44.
  45. +Monica Angelini __ Just to be clear, I am not the one calling you a "r4pe apologist" and I cannot speak for others who have. Despite how it may seem, I do understand what you are saying and would normally echo the same sentiments as you are. Let me try a different approach: Would you agree that "Anthony Rapp" knew his public and specific accusation against "Kevin Spacey" - _on the back of many allegations against "Harvey Weinstein"_ - would have this very kind of backlash against Mr Spacey?
  46.
  47. I'd argue that he must. That of any time over the past 30 years, now is an especially malicious time to be accusing someone of this kind of behaviour because a great many people are paying close attention, hyper-sensitive, emotionally charged, and perhaps too ready and willing to burn people at the stake.
  48.
  49. What I want to know is: why are we hearing about this now? What has been alleged against "Harvey Weinstein" could have been revealed a year or a decade ago. And what has been alleged against "Kevin Spacey" could likewise have been alleged a year or a decade ago. But yet for some reason _now_ is the time when it's happening.
  50.
  51. It's as though a "House of Cards" had been carefully built over a number of decades, and now one of the cards has been taken out it's all about to topple. As though that was the intended purpose from the very outset.
