  1. She supposed she was meant to be "training" herself.
  2.
  3. After the fight with the Malpercian, she was no longer sure what that was. It felt like she was splintered, ready to crack apart and she hated it. It felt vulnerable and strange to be pushed so easily to violence... even if it had taken a good amount of goading to push her into action. Even if she'd been proven right. It felt wrong.
  4.
  5. The market was bustling with people as always, and Alisaie was merely browsing. Her staff wasn't quite doing it for her anymore, as nice as it was- it sparkled prettily and lent her some magical power, but not enough if she was going to get into fights.
  6.
  7. Nothing seemed to really suit, thought. The weapons stall was shocking bleak, and she didn't think her father had anything to give her like he'd given Lauren. That was another bad thought, another idea that made her frown. Her father knew of her frailty, though... naturally he wouldn't give her a weapon.
  8.
  9. She lingered by the stall for a while, staring over the useless weapons and staves and trying to make up her mind. It didn't seem like the man running the stall appreciated that, either- she was blocking the way for customers who were actually going to buy something....
  10. (Alisaie Fildegarde)
  11. It was a long night, and he was supposed to report to Mister Hauk for another long and boring training session. He thought they were going to be fun at first when he was told that his godfather would be training him, but it was just another bothersome event that he was forced into because of his stature within the city.
  12.
  13. He would still much rather spend his time fun-seeking and causing trouble with some of the guards. Maybe he could find that one guard again so he could play with him again. He was pretty funny to watch try to catch him... Yeah, he definitely needed to find that bumpkin again.
  14.
  15. He walked along the Ramparts of the city limits for awhile, looking for the guard but he couldn't be found. Unfortunate, but perhaps not entirely unexpected. Without much else to do now, the teen set off towards the city's interior, quickly reaching the marketplace as he half-ran through the crowds agilely. Which didn't prevent his two constant guards from keeping up with him in the slightest. Pesky folk.
  16.
  17. And well, upon his arrival he soon found himself drawn towards a small bit of commotion at one of the stalls, seemed to be some girl there just staring down at the merchandise and the stall owner was growing errant at her for it. He couldn't say he cared much one way or the other how it escalated, but.. He wasn't exactly doing much of anything right now, and a Prince was supposed to look after his subjects or something like that. Or at least, they were supposed to according to his mother.
  18.
  19. So forwards he would move looking between the owner and the girl, before offering a small grin towards the both of them. "What'cha doin' here? Shouldn't ya' be playin' with dolls or somethin', instead of lookin' at these things?" He gestures towards the merchandise with a thumb to denote them as the objects within his sentence.
  20. (Makia Hirano)
  21. The frail girl was growing more and more irrate as she looked over the weapons she was deeming worthless one after the other. Nothing seemed more suitable than the starry staff she already clutched in her hands, and the shopkeeper seemed just about to shoo her away from his wares when another person approached.
  22.
  23. Alisaie turned, looking over the boy with her light hazel eyes, recognizing him pretty quickly. A Prince- one of the Princes who hung out with Alyx, her old friend. His words and his presence struck an odd choord with her- and not one that she found she liked. With a haughty toss of her head, she scowled at him in response, locking her eyes with his.
  24.
  25. "Why would I play with dolls?" she asked, "Do you just assume that's what all girls do?" she asked, her tone clearly offended at his judgement, "I was looking for a new weapon, if it pleases you to know. But all these are worthless." She gestured a hand over the wares to the shopkeeper's growing irritation, and took a few steps away from the stall in order to speak with the boy properly.
  26.
  27. "...shouldn't you be a bit more polite, for a Prince?" It was clear she recognized him as a Hirano, at least.
  28. (Alisaie Fildegarde)
  29. "A new weapon huh? What's wrong with tha' one ya' got?" Wide amber eyes squint towards the staff within hand, moving away from the stall with her to continue speaking to the silver haired girl. "And nah, I don't assume that." He glances upwards for a moment gaining a thoughtful air to him as he begins to speak towards the distant sky. "Uh, Alyx doesn't play with dolls, Ella doesn't either, her twin might, I guess, but I haven't really seen her do it. Besides, she carries around tha' rusty old sword all tha' time."
  30.
  31. Shifts his weight from one leg to the next before looking back down towards the girl, that grin of his still very much in place. "She's tha' one who needs a new weapon tha' most, yeah?" He steps to one side for a moment, leaning to look a little more closely at the staff within her grasp. "'Eh, this staff seems pretty neat at least. Doesn't look broken or nothin'."
  32.
  33. For a moment, he looks as if he wasn't going to respond to her last question, but with a roll of his eyes, he begins to circle her, his gaze moving from between her own gaze, and that staff she is carrying. "I probably should be, yeah. Mom keeps telling me I should be nice to people, even the boring ones."
  34.
  35. He stops in front of her, holding out a hand towards her as he beams. "Mah name's Makia! Who're you?"
  36.
  37. He's trying at least.
  38. (Makia Hirano)
  39. The boy began rattling off names of people that she didn't know, and Alisaie narrowed her eyes in response. Alyx was familiar- but that was just about it, and she hadn't spoken to Alyx in a very long time. He spoke a lot, too, a rattling of words that shook through her brain in an accent that didn't quite make sense to her.
  40.
  41. It took a bit of deciphering.
  42.
  43. "It's not... strong enough, I suppose," she pulled the staff back, away from his scrutinizing gaze, "Not that it matters. I just wanted something new." She shrugged- dismissive, because she had something else she wanted to speak of instead.
  44.
  45. There was a pause as she looked at him, cocking her head to the side. Silent after he introduced himeslf, she responded. "Why do you list off names like that? I don't know any of those people. Do you think it makes you sound popular...?" she frowned at him, chosing her words carefully in order to sound as haughty as she could, "Only boring people judge their worth based on who they know."
  46.
  47. Oh- she appeared to take his comment as an insult towards her, that she was boring. Alisaie returned it in kind.
  48. (Alisaie Fildegarde)
  49. Man, being polite to people is hard.
  50.
  51. Especially when they don't return it, though maybe they would if he'd start off that way instead of having to be reminded all the time. In either case, his hand slowly falls to his side, and he frowns towards her. Asking the silent question with his expression of 'what did I do?'.
  52.
  53. He didn't have have much of an accent though. If it was perceived as such, then it was more of an issue of not really knowing the Prince, and the way he spoke. His words fell outwards in an excited rush, and this often led to his missing of a few syllables in a few of his words."Eh.. It's not strong enough? Maybe ya' just aren't usin' it right?" He gave a brief shrug, his joking demeanor falling off along with the motion. And now? Now he stands with his weight on one leg, and his arms folded as he glances off to the side. Surprisingly, he looked rather bored.
  54.
  55. But a scoff is drawn from him all the same, and wide amber eyes turn back towards her with a flick of his head. "Man, you are such a draaag. You could at least 'try' ta' have fun every now and then." He didn't actually mean to say that she was boring before, and when she took it that way, she was mistaken, yet now? Now he said it openly. She was boring him. "Don't ya' have better things ta' do than ta' be serious all tha' time?"
  56.
  57. He gave a small huff as he looked to the side. "And I don't need you ta' think I am popular or somethin'. Besides, who ya' know is important, yeah? Only people who aren't that important think otherwise."
  58.
  59. Oh dear.
  60. (Makia Hirano)
  61. She ignored his comments on the staff she carried- it was no longer relevant, and his opinion was disregarded. He was dropping further and further beneath her level, showing her what the royalty was like in a new light. Undignified, impatient brats who spoke too quickly and too rushed to chose their words in a competent fashion. She was having difficulty keeping up.
  62.
  63. "I'm not sure what sort of fun you were trying to have," she informed him, her gaze mostly curious. What "fun" had she ruined, exactly? They'd just been talking. Was he expecting her to go along with him- was his version of fun having people faun over him because he was a prince? Well, she wasn't going to do that.
  64.
  65. His question of her importance, however, did dig at her in an irritating way.
  66.
  67. "I'm Alisaie Fildegarde. My father is Marshal, as you should well know. Arguably a more important role than even King or Queen," she eyed him as if daring him to question it- perhaps if he was a Prince, then he knew what sort of new power her father had harnessed. Perhaps he knew the power of the bird, as well. But then again... he seemed ignorant. She didn't expect him to. Still- she had something else to respond with.
  68.
  69. "If you're a Prince," she countered, "Why do you speak like an average commoner?"
  70. (Alisaie Fildegarde)
  71. Well, she wasn't wrong in her assessment of him.
  72.
  73. "Any sort of fun! Does it even matter? Fuckin' hell." Definitely not dignified. But well, his irritation with her was growing more and more apparent at least. She wasn't even trying to hide her contempt for him, and it was starting to gnaw at him.
  74.
  75. "I don't care who ya' are anymore, yeah? It ain't important." He squinted at her for a moment. It would take a bit more than some frail looking girl to throw him off. Especially if that frail girl just indrectly insulted his parents. "If ya' actually think that, you are pretty dumb... The Marshals all just follow tha' orders of tha' King and Queen, not tha' other way 'round!" Though she was right in thinking that he didn't know what sort of new fancy power Hauk had gained, nor did he know the bird was anything more than what it was. A cute pudgy bird.
  76.
  77. "What do ya' mean I talk like a commoner? I ain't like you.." He said with aglare.
  78. (Makia Hirano)
  79. The elemental hissed, yellow optics leering upon the form of Auron. Unbidden darkness crawled along his form. Dark voice slithering inwards. Crawling deeper through telepathic means. "You..are...surprised..by..mal...kuth.." The Elemental queried, tone speaking with great difficulty.
  80.
  81. Falling silent, the elemental's voice would retreat. As his frame turned, silently glncing around the area. With a slow step, the Elemental's form would near the market. Voice directed upon the minds of the children. "Follow..must..offer opportunity..yes..to others.."
  82.
  83. Fungi upon the Yokai's form released a lingering misty burst of disgusting fumes. Withering fungus shuddering upon the Elemental's guise. Dark power surging throughout his form. From the holes, small and microscopic dost flow errant faint poison riddled mist. Billowing along the elemental's form, akin to to rotting and corrosive poisoned likened fog. The Elemental stilled. Spotting the form of Alisaie.
  84.
  85. Starting to wander in her direction. A ragged hiss surging from his throat. Lingering breathing poison churning and rattling outwards with the released breath. "Greetings.." His mental voice would state..
  86.
  87.
  88. (Malkuth 'Squiggles')
  89. His anger meant nothing to her- except for perhaps a tiny inkling of amusement that he was so easily goaded. Not that she was trying to anger him or anything like that, no, she was simply being who she was, and nothing less. His idea of "fun" still confused her, and she merely watched him with light hazel eyes and chose not to comment.
  90.
  91. What was she even going to say to that? It didn't deserve a response.
  92.
  93. "Didn't I tell you who I am? I'm not a commoner," she replied with an airy sort of attitude, "At least, I seem far more like nobility than you do. Your hair is barely brushed, your clothes are dirty- is that blood?" she wrinkled her nose in distaste, "It's a disgrace to go around looking so messy, you look like a commoner. To someone who doesn't know you, they probably just assume that's what you are. Your words are all... slurred together, you speak too quickly... Eveything about you just screams commoner."
  94.
  95. She assessed him brutally, taking offense in the fact that this so-called Prince was apparently of a higher status than she was. It was all wrong, completely wrong- it was her who should be at the top, not him.
  96.
  97. Though the greeting of the yokai worming its way into her mind startled her, hazel eyes going wide for a moment before she spotted the newly-evolved Elemental.
  98.
  99. "...hello," she called to him, looking right past Makia, "Have you learned your lesson about running away?" she questioned, wondering if the yokai was less of a coward now.
  100. (Alisaie Fildegarde)
  101. It wasn't that hard of an idea to grasp, but apparently it was, it wasn't as if he had really bothered to explain himself in the first place. Maybe he just thought he shouldn't have to? Maybe he just expected people to get it. Which was probably a little dense of him.
  102.
  103. Though perhaps it wasn't the best thing that he was being goaded, as she went on about his appearance, his body stiffened and the glare that was sent towards her grew in prominence. He was extremely quick to anger, her haughty attitude grated against him feverishly as his mouth opened slightly to reveal teeth that still hid behind the rim of the teenagers bottom lip.
  104.
  105. If she was expecting a reasonable discussion to come of those words, she would be highly incorrect. They only served to elevate his irritation with the uptight girl who so criticised him. "A disgrace? I'm not a disgrace! I am just comfortable bein' myself. Unlike you, who seems ta' think followin' all those stupid rules about how ya' should act is somethin' to be proud of. You're just like all tha' other boring high class girls who wouldn't know what a fun time was if it slapped 'em in tha' face." He rolled his eyes, looking away from her with annoyance, his voice having risen slightly in volume. "Are ya' really Mister Hauk's daughter? I didn't think someone so fuckin' irritatin' was possible."
  106.
  107. Though just as she had taken offense to his words, Makia would take offense at something she had done as well. She looked past him as if she was already done talking to him.
  108.
  109. They were definitely not done talking, and the appearance of the Yokai was almost entirely ignored as he moved sideways to place his glaring features directly inbetween the two of them. "We are havin' a thing here! Wait ya' damn turn!" And he'd turn back towards Alisaie, all glares and indignation.
  110. (Makia Hirano)
  111. The boy was crass, angry, and he spoke like she'd been trained this when- when in reality, it was just sort of who she was. There was usually not many people to speak to except for her nurses, the bird, and her father... she'd learned how to act by reading books, by staring outside and watching the other children, by exploring through history.
  112.
  113. In reality, she simply just didn't know how to interact with people her age.
  114.
  115. That didn't matter to her, though. She looked between the boy, the yokai, and had to cover her mouth to repress her snickers.
  116.
  117. "You don't appear to be very comfortable," she gave him a look again, a judgemental once-over, "Yes, and my father would probably not appreciate someone insulting me so much. Perhaps you want to watch your words." She took a step towards him- seemingly at first like she was aiming to get closer to him, before turning and starting to walk down the street.
  118.
  119. "I don't have time to deal with barbaric natured kids like you," she spoke, despite him being older than her- wasn't she quite the arrogant, precocious little child? "Or you," she spoke to the yokai as she passed him- however, Auron got a smile from her. He, at least, was someone who'd been nice.
  120.
  121. Her expression was gentle- perhaps at-odds to the disdainful expression she'd given Makia. "Yes, I feel a lot better now. I'll see you later, Auron," she gave him another closed-eyed smile and a wave, before continuing off down the street.
  122.
  123. ...it seemed she was done, here.
  124. (Alisaie Fildegarde)
  125. The Elemental cast a yellow eyes glance upon Makia. Irritation obvious. With a grunt of exasperation sliothering from his maw. A breath would expel, as poisonous mist surged into the air with said exhale. Slight anger manifested as the yOkai gave a growl in Makia's direction. "......Hmph..." With a deeper grunt noise of irritation. The Elemental silently crossed his mutated green looking arms. Fell purple mist mingling with the aura of utter dark along his form.
  126.
  127. "..I suppose I have. Though..I must..apologize..for...my..pre..v..ious..actions..Yes? I do so apologize..I was...acting foolish before. Now then..if you are interested..I am looking to clear out the Stinnox caverns as a means of apologizing to this city..for my previous behaviour. Would you like to join me in such a venture human? To..grow stronger..by doing such." The Elemental queried. Head tilting as he looked upon the girl. Before his gaze cut towards Makia's back.
  128.
  129. As he grunted looking upon his form. Slight irritation arising. A hand reaching out to grasp his shoulder. Turning the teen around to face him. Rage glimmering within his gaze at his attitude. "Say that again..worm.."
  130. (Malkuth 'Squiggles')
  131. Whatever the girls situation was, Makia truely did not care, he wasn't the type of person to think about other peoples situations, not unless those people were someone he already cared about. And this uptight girl? He didn't give a flying fish about her. He even disliked her a good deal.
  132.
  133. Her words only caused his anger to swell further, "You're father is my godfather too, ya' know?! And if you think I give a damn about what your daddy would do, maybe ya' should stop being stupid and learn how to not be a bitch!" Man, the Prince sure has a mouth on him.
  134.
  135. He glared at her with narrowed eyes, expression full of irritated anger. "You have time to stare at worthless stuff in front of a stall, but not enough time to talk to me?" It seems that both of them had a little bit of arrogance in them, though she had found a soft spot within the boy. Though he had largely grown to accept his nature, he was still insecure about it.
  136.
  137. And this girl thought she would just walk away from this? That was too much. He strode after her, and attempted to place a hand on her shoulder to spin her back around to face him, only to have a hand be placed upon his own shoulder instead, and he was turned to look up towards the Yokai that had so deigned it to be a good idea to do so.
  138.
  139. "Wha-? Say what agai--!" The Prince blinked a few times in shock. "Worm?" His hand reached upwards to slap away the Yokai's arm from upon his shoulder harshly, while glowering eyes stared upwards accompanied by a sudden stark and eerie silence. Those wide amber eyes of his had changed drastically in the course of his anger. Instead of the glinting amber eyes that always seemed to show some emotion towards those who he was interacting with, those amber hues were completely gone, overtaken by the encroaching nature of the teenager's inheritance. And rage filled beady eyes looked up to meet the Yokai's own unflinchingly.
  140. (Makia Hirano)
