Snowdrop's Smile

>That blind girl always had a way of mesmerizing you with her cute, innocent smile.
>What was her name again?
>Snowdrop.
>Funny, she's completely incapable of seeing you act like an idiot, yet you could never approach her.
>Too nervous to make a move.
>Sometimes you think about stealing a kiss and being done with it.
>But your heart wouldn't be able to bear witness to a horrified or violated reaction.
>So instead you sit on the sidelines, waiting anxiously for your chance to sweep Snowdrop off her feet.
>A chance that comes by more often than you initially thought it would.
>She's a loner and a bully magnet.
>And whenever you catch sight of Snowdrop having troubles, you quietly stand up for her.
>You're careful not to reveal your identity by letting your voice be heard.
>For some reason.
>Every now and then you see Snowdrop staring blankly at you.
>It's as though she knows who you are, what you do for her.
>Occasionally, Snowdrop mentions you: her guardian, her hero...
>...her silly, irrational crush.
>Still, you remain true to your namesake.
>Anonymous.
>That kind stranger who always manages to prove he's dependable.

>At some point Snowdrop began to purposefully start problems in an attempt to summon you to her side.
>One time she managed to steal your hand away and hold it close to her heart.
>Snowdrop's warm touch had a painful way of making your heart flutter.
>She asked you for your name.
>You refused to answer out of cowardice.

>She got the wrong message, and appeared to deflate when you wouldn't talk to her.
>If only you could.

>Friends told you to man up, to run over to Snowdrop and spill your guts.
>You actually tried once.
>But all you could do was stammer out a lame hello and take off.
>Get caught in her peaceful, heart-wrenching smile again and you'll never break free.
>Odds say you might dare to taste her cool, blue lips when exposed to the sight of them upturned.
>And if you do that, there's no turning back.
>You'll only want more and more.
>So shields up; Snowdrop can't be allowed to make you less than you already are.
>The mere sight of her does that well enough.

>Distance was the key to fixing your problem.
>Her guardian disappeared, her Anonymous hero gone.
>She was once again the helpless victim, and you weren't there to rescue her anymore.
>That fact clawed at your very soul, threatening to tear you in two.

>The faceless villain, and all-around jerk.
>Not the guy with a soft spot for young Ms. Winter.
>And yet...

>Her purity, like her smiling face, had a tendency to draw you in and bring out a better man.
>Every shared touch brought you closer to admission.
>You reintroduced yourself to her daily life with a rough shove of her latest oppressor.
>And she immediately remembered you.
>Her white knight.
>Snowdrop approached just inches from your face, her vision-less eyes no less beautiful as they peered into your soul.
>"Anonymous?" She asked with a growing smile.
>Her soft and quiet voice graced your ears with it's tender touch.

"Yeah."
>The girl beams at your long-awaited reply.
>"I knew it."
>And like you've imagined so many times before, Snowdrop bashfully presses against your cheek with her lips, gently pressing until she finds her target: yours.
>It's not what you expected it to be.
>The kiss is shaky, and lacking in confidence.
>Snowdrop's first kiss.
>You wrap your arms around her waist, pulling her closer until her chest is against yours.
>The heat of her body makes you weak.
>Snowdrop then pulls away and puts a hand on your chest to gently push you back.
>"D-does this make you um, my boyfriend... now?"
>You chuckle and scoop her into your arms, eliciting a quiet yelp.

"Yeah."
