Black Dragon scenario conversation

(05:38:03 PM) TheBlueAvenger: Incidentally, I didn't have any specific ideas on which of the artifacts were going to be useful, except that I wanted the last two - the pair of spheres - to be useless, as a red herring.

(05:39:21 PM) Lady Vulpix G: No, a short story I wrote which was a prequel to Quest of Twelve.
(05:40:01 PM) Lady Vulpix G: There was a use of a glowing white sphere as a red herring. In that case it was used to draw attention away from the dull black sphere which was the really powerful one.

(05:40:46 PM) TheBlueAvenger: But either way. Whichever of the artifacts, if any, you want to be useful, feel free.
(05:41:26 PM) Lady Vulpix G: I think we should discuss it and come to an agreement together, in my experience the best ideas emerge from brainstorming.

(05:42:50 PM) Lady Vulpix G: We know that a seal was broken, but we have no idea what the seal looked like, if it had any physical presence at all.
(05:43:04 PM) TheBlueAvenger: I figured something like that was the case.
(05:43:35 PM) TheBlueAvenger: I also figured whoever made the seal in the first place probably would make something innocuous, to prevent those who would break it from having an obvious target. Is that a reasonable thing?
(05:43:38 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Word of mouth says someone accidentally broke something, but that someone is quite inconveniently dead.
(05:43:51 PM) TheBlueAvenger: Very inconveniently.
(05:45:09 PM) Lady Vulpix G: The weird thing is... the Black Dragon killed him but not instantly. he left him mortally wounded so that he could get the word out that he was free just before dying.
(05:45:23 PM) TheBlueAvenger: So he wanted it to be known that he had escaped.
(05:45:33 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Apparently yes.
(05:45:38 PM) TheBlueAvenger: Ominous.
(05:46:35 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Although he may have been just trying to get Yssera's attention. We didn't know about her back then, but I think it would make sense given their rivalry.
(05:46:57 PM) TheBlueAvenger: Hmm. Either way, it's not really a good sign for everyone else involved.

(05:47:54 PM) TheBlueAvenger: So the Dragon is in? trying to get into? the Forbidden Mountains, yeah?
(05:48:15 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Trying to get in, unless we've given him enough time to find the way.
(05:48:37 PM) TheBlueAvenger: And what, again, is his goal? Just the power there?
(05:50:48 PM) Lady Vulpix G: I think so. He loves desecrating important sites and taking whatever power he can get from them.
(05:50:55 PM) TheBlueAvenger: Thought so.
(05:53:07 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Teclis may know more, but my last conversation with him didn't end too well. I wonder whether Glenda will pay him a visit after all, but I don't know how that would play out.
(05:54:03 PM) TheBlueAvenger: So... is there a plan being formed about how to stop him?
(05:58:27 PM) Lady Vulpix G: I can bet that Lord Absol is already working on something, but he won't let us in on it. The idol you found looks promising, but it can only be a part of the seal. The pedestal itself may have been another part (like the one that supported the trap which held the demon) and it sounds like whatever used to hold them together is gone.
(05:59:00 PM) TheBlueAvenger: So we'd have to track down the missing piece to have a chance of sealing the Dragon back again.
(06:00:32 PM) Lady Vulpix G: That would make sense. Either that or come up with a way to replace it.
(06:00:58 PM) TheBlueAvenger: If we need to replace it - what sort of thing would we have to be looking for?
(06:02:52 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Teclis said it was a group of warriors and wizards who defeated him. If we could find out how they did it, that would certainly help. Provided that we can reproduce it and do it in such a way that the Black Dragon will fall for it again.
(06:04:18 PM) Lady Vulpix G: He also said that the demons helped him break the physical seal, so we'll have to find a way to keep them at bay while we work. But that's what the Dragon Tamers do best.

(06:05:02 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Multi tasking is easy when you can have different people do different tasks.

(06:06:29 PM) Lady Vulpix G: I imagine the final task of setting up the seals to work will fall on someone who's magically adept (whom we'll have to find and that may well be the missing piece).
(06:07:04 PM) TheBlueAvenger: Hm. Any candidates so far?
(06:09:36 PM) Lady Vulpix G: None of us unless one of us has a big secret s/he hasn't been sharing. And Harims can't do it either, but I believe the Order of the Dragon must have some candidates, provided we can reach some sort of understanding with them. And we just might be able to get some more information out of Teclis.
(06:10:12 PM) Lady Vulpix G: And I don't know... Maybe Rapp holds a key he's not even aware of?

(06:10:57 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Popple would be funny, albeit ridiculous. But if you think about it, Rapp looks like strong candidate given his backstory.
