  1. Hi Paco Molinero.
  2.
  3. First of all, let me start by thanking you for all the good work you have put so far into the Spanish translation of the Xubuntu Documentation, we really appreciate your effort and contribution.
  4.
  5. That said, I just wanted to provide you a couple of heads up on some issues, namely the fact that we've noticed a few occurrences where you have translated some XML tags, like translating the tag <application>some_name</application> into <aplicaciones>some_name</aplicaciones>, which is wrong.
  6.
  7. When translating DocBook (XML) files you have to be aware that XML tags and attributes are case sensitive and you must always copy these tags exactly as you find them and apply them to the relevant part of the text, remembering to close the tags as appropriate.
  8.
  9. Another point I would like to draw your attention is to data placeholders and variable names - which also shouldn't be translated - such as %(variablename)s, $name or${name}. Copy these variables and placeholders exactly as you see them (including the ending s), placing them in the exact order in whichever part of the string makes most sense in the Spanish language.
  10.
  11. Please refer to https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/Guide as a general translation guide.
  12.
  13. If you have any doubts please feel free to mail me or to get in touch with me in the #xubuntu-devel channel on the Freenode IRC network.
  14.
  15. Cheers,
