  20. What is “>brio”?
  21. -----------------------------------
  22.
  23. Brio is a ‘new-wave’ electronic magazine that’s heavily inspired by the late-eighties/early-nineties, bulletin-board-system era. What’s covered within a brio publication isn’t entirely encompassed by the unique, less-amendable world of yesteryear, but takes what it may in terms of fruitful enjoyment, humor, and pizazz.
  24.
  25. I look forward to accomplishing many things with this publication whilst working alongside others. And with many of these sought-after endeavors being deemed as purely visceral, I’m expecting a fair-share of backlash that’ll surely inspire a dedicated spam box. Simply said, language is an art, and the beauty found within art is often quite different from person to person; re-lancing, relating, and debauchery, all determining what is generally appeasing or not.
  26.
  27. Brio, generally speaking, is what I find to be a practical outlet to unleash our writers' thoughts, complaints and creativity for individuals to review. We’re a species of interaction and attention, and so, I guess this is just another outwards attempt at receiving just that.
  28.
  29. Whilst many reach for their mice and keyboards in an attempt to ONLY get attention, I prioritize the intimacy of connection and genuine interaction before pretty much anything –which can be quite difficult in this IoT day of ours – and look forward to getting to know one another.
  30.
  31. I look to release an issue weekly, or if the creation-juice is toppling down, twice weekly. Also, with any new piece of literature on the scene, readers need to have a general foothold in what they’re reading before they may truly appreciate the intrinsic, individualized qualities of a certain series or author that is bestowed upon them.
  32.
  33.
  34. Get to know brio. Brio will be a relentless trail of abrupt ups and downs, but at the end, you’ll still get out in one piece, shake the jebbees off, and realize that you’ve learned something. C’mon, you’ve learned something!

  38. FAQs are fun, right?
  39. (Let’s kill some messengers…)
  40.
  41.
  42. “Where did the name “brio” come from?”
  43.
  44. -I’ve been an assayer of both computer programming and computer arts for awhile now, and I’ve worked my way into quite a few beta’s and pre-builds of many pieces of proprietary software. Working alongside a friend, a long while ago, we had introduced a new project (that later turned out to be mildly successful) called “brio” to our group of equally geeky friends.
  45.
  46. The name “brio” is based off the wooden, interchangeable train sets. Whilst searching for a name, we wanted something that emphasized compatibility, as, at the time, the software we were developing was aiming to facilitate many hardware conjunction issues.
  47.
  48.
  49.
  50. “Why start an electronic magazine?”
  51.
  52. -For fun. There isn’t really anything to lose; and also, you can’t really lose anything on the ‘net.
  53.
  54.
  55.
  56. “Where will you publish?”
  57.
  58. -Pastebin is my home. It’s just a bare, bleak ASCII repository that is primarily used to store strands of computer code. I like to stick out… Call it finding the needle in the hay-stack. I’m looking into some other websites as well. I’ll keep you all posted.
  59.
  60.
  61.
  62. “We live in a world of autonomous driving. Why would you be intrigued by BBS’s?”
  63.
  64. -BBS’s allowed person-to-person communication over the internet to be so readily available and easy that (almost) anyone could partake. Remember, you could barely send a mildly large fax without issue around this time. BBS’s often held complex games, group chatrooms, polls, amongst many other things that also pushed the boundaries of foreseeable at the time. TELNET is still alive and well (It just needs to remember to take its daily multivitamin)
  65.
  66.
  67. “Do you take...”
  68.
  69. -Yes. I do. Period. I welcome writers, ideas, random passages and so on. If you’d like to be part of this fiasco, all you need is a fair-head on your shoulders and a functioning email. Contact me through the email at the end of this issue.
  70.
  71.
  72. “So, what is this again?”
  73.
  74. This is a “electronic magazine” and not a “electronics magazine”. What I’m posting weekly through these issues are my own and others independent ideas, stories, rants, complaints, and anything n’ everything in-between. Just because this magazine is modeled after a common BBS ‘zine, doesn’t automatically make it a magazine just about technology and reminiscing. This is just a magazine of ideas and creations; also acting as a journal of thoughts that I keep public.
  75.
  76.
  77.
  78. “What’s with the days at the bottom of the issue?”
  79.
  80. -That’s my day-o-meter! Like I said before, I’ll most likely be releasing these on a weekly basis, and with that scale, you’ll know what I wrote on which day of the week. For example, if a certain passage/article has an odd tone, check the day it was written. It wouldn’t be too surprising if Friday articles has a more upbeat tone then the rest. The days will be indicated by the article name underlining. Follow the underline to the corresponding day printed near the end of the article.
  81.
  82.
  83. “Morse Code?”
  84.
  85. Keen eye. Above the “inquiries are welcomed” near the bottom of all issues, you’ll see a blurb of Morse Code. It reads: “preset in unique”
