  1. Urbanization is described as a process in which individuals or people move to a central location in which agricultural production is the not the basis, that food is created elsewhere or is not the main priority that is crafted. Medieval Europe was struck by a variety of aspects and factors that led to its rampant urbanization. The aspect of urbanization allowed for the development of towns and cities on a widespread level this rise was all due to multiple factors. Medieval Europe’s urbanization was a product of increasing peace and political stability, an increase in agricultural production due to trade opportunities and a quickly establishing economic surplus that was established made it so cities and towns could rise and pave the future of medieval Europe.
  2. . Politics and peace go hand in hand especially in the era where the Vikings reigned supreme and constant Viking invades would force the people to finally move away from the country side to tighter circumstances such as the towns that would soon inhabit most of Europe although on a smaller scale. The decline of Viking invasions coupled with that safety of towns as people fled from the country side made the appeal to live in a city or town much higher. The introduction of guilds such as crafts guilds helped establish the proper amount of jobs for individuals and gave a strong economic sense of stability. Meanwhile the political class structure of these towns made it incredibly plausible for a rather peaceful coexistence between classes. The political classes of Royalty, nobility, the clergy and peasants at the time didn’t clash as heavily as they did in other parts of Europe. Due to the somewhat peaceful aspect behind the politics in medieval Europe it was rather efficient for all of these estranged classes to prosper in unison. On top of that the town dwellers had their own social order that was expanded and provided to be somewhat efficient. The various guilds that constituted cities and towns helped increase its stability by offering peasants the ability to specialize in various jobs and become artisans of their craft on top of that they also managed the wages and the aspect of trades this helped establish an prosperous economic balance. Cities and towns became viable due to the politics around medieval Europe as a whole becoming less aggressive as the territories began to be unified under individual kings, counts and bishops who founded a lot of the towns and paved the road for their improvement.
