  1. >You felt actual physical pain after reading that. You can only but pray that some cosmic force convinced your mom to stop trying to be “hip” because no other force could do such thing.
  2. >Alright… so you had a mission now… on one hoof, you felt proud about the fact that your moms had so much trust in you to place such responsibility on your shoulders, but on the other…
  3. >Why did it have to be Blueblood, man? You’d prefer to deal with the idiot of the alternate Anon than with the imbecile of Blueblood. Both are kind of stupid, but at least the other you was… nah, he did sound as stupid as Blueblood.
  4. >On the brighter side, the princess of friendly sexiness was going to be your partner in this mission. You just hoped that the purple salamander wasn’t with her. You weren’t feeling in the mood to deal with him too.
  5. >Well, you can’t stay here forever. You had a job to do and Twilight must be getting impatient for waiting so long… which made you a little anxious.
  6. >How could you not be? You were supposed to devise a plan to fool Blueblood while having the sexy princess of friendly hotness by your side. Man, you really need to focus.
  7. >So you made the breathing exercise to calm your nerves and walked inside the donut’s joint.
  8. >Lo and behold, it was a 50’s styled food joint with several tables scattered around the place. The thing is that this place was… very pink.
  9. >Okay, to be fair, it wasn’t completely pink, but the tiles combination of white, blue and pink, along with the pink ceiling, the purple tables and the fact that the walls were half pink, half white, with a blue line separating those colors, made the whole place to feel, well, pink.
  10.
  11. >But hey! Not everything was super bad, this place had a little “bar” on the opposite side of the joint. Which would be good if they actually alcoholic drinks here, you weren’t planning to drink booze anymore, but it would have been made this donut’s joint a bit more interesting.
  12. >You had to give this joint something. You had to control yourself from taking all of those different candies that the bar showcased. The bottles and jars that those sweet temptations were… fun… and you wished to have something like that in your room.
  13. >Seriously, they had all kind of weird shapes and colors. From purple apples to little tattleworms, dragons, griffons and whatever species that bad guy from Daring Do was. They were in one word, awesome!
  14. >Despite your complaints about the pinkness of this place, you supposed that the donuts they served here were prime quality stuff, because holy cow they had full house.
  15. >Seriously, you saw ponies of all ages and some griffons happily eating their donuts while having a nice chat, kids going to the bar to buy candy, waitress bringing their A game to take the incoming orders. You couldn’t explain it, but this vibrant scene did fill you with joy.
  16. >That said, while the joint wasn’t too big, it did take you a while to find Twilight, but after some searching you saw a sexy purple alicorn sitting on a table with her only company being a bunch of super thick books… thanks goodness.
  17. >In fact, Twilight was super concentrated into the book she was reading that she didn’t even notice when the waitress brought her an incredibly big box of donuts.
  18. >So you walked towards her purple hotness and did your best to greet her with a loud enough voice for you to being able to be heard among the noise but without, y’know, startling her.
  19. “Hello there, Twilight! Hope I didn’t make you wait too long”
  20. >And you failed miserably since Twilight quickly recoiled back, falling on her back as she screamed ”GYAAAA!”
  21.
  22. >You did your best to contain your laughter as Twilight tried to stand back up, but failing when she accidentally dropped the thick book on her head.
  23. >Twilight let out a groan in frustration as she rubbed her head and slowly got back on her chair. Then she finally noticed you ”Anon? When did you get here? Wait…” Twilight’s pupils shrank as she gave you a nervous grin “You didn’t see that, right?”
  24. >You let out a snicker and shrugged
  25. “I just got here. What are you talking about Miss Twilight?”
  26. >She quickly shook her head and using her magic she pulled a chair for you to sit on ”Nothing, d-don’t worry about it. Why don’t you take seat so we can talk a little before going to Rarity’s new boutique?”
  27. >Talk a little? Mate, did she forget that you had a mission to do? Wait… your mom didn’t tell her, there’s no way for her to remember what she didn’t know in the first place.
  28. >Based on the fact that your mom was THE master of scheming, it probably wasn’t a very good idea to tell Twilight everything yet.
  29. >So you let out a sigh and hopped on the chair
  30. “Alright Twi, but I’m warning you, once you get me talking, there are few forces in Equestria that can make me shut up”
  31. >”Right!” Twilight happily nodded “I’m the same actually, especially when the subject is something related to history, or math, or physics, or… Oh, wait! You must be hungry, right?” She opened the box of donuts and pushed it closer to you “Please, feel free to eat as many as you want. I’ll just order another dozen for myself”
  32.
  33. >Man, sharing donuts with Twilight! This is… wait, what?
  34. “A dozen of donuts… just for yourself?”
  35. >”Yeah, I’m starving after all the crazy studying that me Starlight and Moon Dancer did last night on that age reversal spell that Celestia and Luna oh, wait…” Twilight giggled “That your moms discovered.”
  36. >Mate, a dozen of donuts just for herself? Sweet mother of science, can she even eat all of… wait what she said?!
  37. >Calm down, Anon. This is Twilight you’re talking about and even if she wasn’t as careful as you think she is, Moon Dancer surely is.
  38. >You did your best to calm your nerves and reply with a chill tone.
  39. “Oh really? Did it go better than, y’know… last time?”
  40. >”Weeell…” Twilight rubbed the back of her neck as she looked away from you “Not exactly, we kinda had to put it on hold when we re-discovered that being a teenager is not exactly the best, but hey! We DID some progress, right?”
  41. >Well… at least no one went on a crazy power hunger rampage, that’s a victory… maybe.
  42. >Still, you had to press on and change the subject into what actually mattered.
  43. “I-I guess? But, Twilight, I have to ask, did you three made some progress on our other problem?”
  44. >”What other…oh” Twilight’s ears perked down as she sadly looked at her now closed book “You do like to go straight to the point, dontcha Anon? Heh, that’s very much like Princess Luna”
  45.
  46. “I’m sorry, Twilight.”
  47. >”No, its fine…” Twilight sighed “I understand that our “guests problems” as Starlight puts it must have priority over anything else, but… Anon?”
  48. “Yes?”
  49. >She raised her head and looked at you with a broken smile “Can we forget about that, just for a little while? I really, really want to know you more and I don’t want to wait until a new bad thing happens for us to have this opportunity”
  50. >You felt your heart aching. Dang, she really wanted to have this conversation and you didn’t have the strength to say no to that face.
  51. >Well… you weren’t exactly in a hurry, and even if you kind of were, you could use this little down time to come up with an air tight plan as you enjoyed a talk with her royal sexiness.
  52. “Sure, why not. We have a lot to catch on, right?”
  53. >”Great!” Twilight sheepishly smiled “So, would you mind if I start with a quick question? The kind that is personal?”
  54. >A… personal question? From… Twilight… o-oh dear.
  55. >You felt your heart racing and a blush appearing on your face. But nonetheless you replied with a more shy tone.
  56. “I… well, it depends, is it something embarrassing?”
  57. >”No, no!” Twilight quickly shook her head “But it can be…mmm… how do I put it”
  58. >You rolled your eyes and let out a sigh
  59. “Just shoot the question, Twilight”
  60. >”Right… so, Anon…” Twilight nervously leaned closer to you, making your blush to increase in intensity. “Can you tell me how your old world was like?”
  61.
  62. “W-What?!”
  63. >Your blush disappeared in an instant as your eyes became wide open. You slowly backed away from Twilight and started to look at her with caution.
  64. >In other words. That question really took you by utter surprise.
  65. > Twilight in turn, didn’t really react by your cautious behavior. Instead she was displaying a mix of curious and eagerness “It’s exactly what you heard. I want to know how your old world was like”
  66. >You raised an eyebrow at her while still keeping your distance. That said, you did notice that the other ponies in the restaurant where now looking at you. Seems like your reaction got their attention.
  67. >Dang, you didn’t want this. You took a deep breath as you tried to regain, or at least keep the appearance that you were cool.
  68. “Sorry folks! Didn’t want to scare you there. I… uh… just found out about an awesome thing related to… eh…”
  69. >Quick, think of some old wizard other than Starswirl. C’mon, Moon Dancer has teach you like a hundred of them!
  70. “Meadowbrook! Yeah! And, well, I got very surprised… very surprised indeed”
  71. >Luckily, it worked as the other ponies went back onto their business. Except for some stallion who eagerly asked “Oooooh! That sounds great! Can you tell me?”
  72. “No…”
  73. >”Awwww” Thank goodness the guy didn’t get insistent. The mate simply returned to eat his donuts again. He looked pretty sad though.
  74. >Twilight was giving you a weird look as she talked with an annoyed tone ”I didn’t say anything about Meadowbrook. In fact, I know next to nothing about him.” She taped her chin and pointed with her hoof at you “I’m actually surprised that you even know his name.”
  75.
  76. >You rolled your eyes and gave Twilight a stoic look.
  77. “I know you didn’t mention him. I just said that so we can avoid being the spotlight of the entire restaurant… and I know about that guy because Moon Dancer mentioned him in one of her lessons, I honestly only remember that he had eight mysterious artifacts or something”
  78. >”Oh… right” Twilight giggled as she gave you an awkward smile “Sorry… and uhm, it’s actually the nine relics of Meadowbrooks. Nopony knows more about him or what these relics are… or if they existed to begin with. If you want, I can lend you some books about the subject. There are not much of those, but they are still a very interesting read!”
  79. >You were kind of surprised by how easy to derail Twilight was. Geez, she has a worse focus skill than you.
  80. >You let out a sigh and mustered all the courage you had to go back to topic.
  81. “Yeah, I’m sure it’s interesting and I’d definitely like to give that a read, but tell me, Twilight…”
  82. >You leaned closer to her and lowered your volume so only she could hear you.
  83. “Why do you want to know about that awful place I come from?”
  84. >Twilight gently tapped her hooves together ”Well, it’s not very complicated, or at least I don’t think it is. You see, Anon, I do want to know more about you, and believe it or not, I really didn’t know how to do that.”
  85. “Well, sorry for saying this Twilight, but considering you ARE the princess of friendship. I think that’s… y’know, kind of ironic”
  86. >Twilight shook her head and let out a little chuckle “Not really, being the princess of friendship doesn’t mean that I know all there is to know about friendship, and for what I heard, the same goes to you and harmony”
  87.
  88. “Heh, heh, heh! Gotta admit, you got me there. Even with my cutie mark, I still have a long way to go with this harmony thing… that’s a thing I’ve learned the hard way”
  89. >”As Applejack would say, eeyuup! We both have many lessons left to learn about our destinies, but anyways, let’s get back on topic. At first, I thought that it would be a nice idea to give you some tips so you could know better what a Princess, or well, a Prince’s responsibilities are.”
  90. “That… that sounds like a pretty good start to me. Why you didn’t roll with that?”
  91. >”Because based on Princess Celestia’s letters and even Discord and…” Twilight’s expression became twisted with an anger for a second “Eeeriiiiis’ stories about you…” and she regained her happy composure just like that! “I realized that you have pretty much learned the same things that I did, but at a much faster pacing. Then I thought that we could start knowing each other better through magical lessons, buuut…”
  92. “You realize I still have some trouble with my magic, right? I mean, yeah I’m awesome with my shield, and teleporting and that super handy immobilizing spell but… eh… I can polish other things… like shooting lasers without missing the targets 90% of the time, which would be cool.”
  93. >”That’s the problem. You are still a colt, but you can already use and learn magic on a level that I have never seen before, and when I saw at the party just how easily you can use advanced magic, I realized that this idea was kind of pointless since Moon Dancer has done her job better that I ever could.”
  94. “I… uh… thanks, but I’m not perfect, y’know? I could use some extra help with other things besides shooting lasers accurately, like… well… not overcharging spells.”
  95.
  96. >”Hmmm…” Twilight tapped her chin and looked away from you as she went deep in thought “I suppose that we could schedule something later. Yeah…” She looked back at you with a big smile on her face “I think I know the exact book that will help us with that little problem of yours, but…”
  97. “But?”
  98. >”Right now, I believe that the best way to knowing each other better is to start with the beginning, and by that, I want to know who you were before you were adopted, where you came from and how was that place. That way, I can get a better picture on who the Prince of Harmony is. After you’re finished, then I will tell you all about who I was before meetings my best friends.”
  99. “Y’know… this is starting to sound less like a friendly chat, and more like a school project.”
  100. >” I know! Isn’t that great!” Twilight’s horn lit up, bringing a quill and a scroll on the table “I even brought the necessary equipment to take notes! Oh, and don’t worry…!” She quickly used her magic to place a new scroll on your hooves and a quill behind your ear “I didn’t forget about yours!”
  101. >”So” Twilight gently and happily tapped her hooves together as she gave you a big, expectating smile “What do you think of my idea? Pretty neat, right?”
  102. >You looked at Twilight with an empty look. You had to write a long easy and prepare an exposition as part of your extra homework and now Twilight was making you work even more.
  103. >Ugh… still, as much as you hated to have even more work. That smile of hers… man, it was clear that Twilight had been planning and looking forward for this conversation so much that you didn’t have the heart to say no.
  104. >So once again, you were forced to bring your best smile in order to not break someone’s heart… you were now beginning to understand why your mom Celestia has to do this stuff.
  105. “Y-Yeah, it’s… awesome… just … awesome.”
  106.
  107. >”Woohoo!” Twilight raised her hooves in the air. Hnnng! Yeah, there was no way to back down from this “I knew you’d love it! Now!” Twilight placed her hooves on the table and rested her head on them “Please tell me all you want about your old home. Like all the things you liked and all the things you didn’t like as much, and don’t worry about being too detailed, in fact, the more details the better! And if you want to skip the bad stuff…”
  108. >Twilight’s expression changed to a much more kind and understanding one “Don’t worry, I understand”
  109. >You couldn’t help but to blush a little, but you did your best to hide it by looking away from her.
  110. “I-It’s no problem, really. I’d have to skip a buncha some stuff though, including how that place actually went down, because… well… I actually don’t remember anything about it”
  111. >”Really? Why’s that?”
  112. >Dang! Quick, think of something! Something that Discord would’ve come up with!
  113. “I dunno! I just remember the sky getting darker than the darkest night, ponies screaming, buildings collapsing and then… nothing. Just that this guy who kinda looked like Eris picked me up from a bunch of rubble and told me that everything was gonna be fine, and then… “Poof!” everything went black again and when I woke up, I was in Discord’s crazy inter-dimensional house and then… well, I think that you know the rest.”
  114. >”Hmmm…I see” Twilight tapped her chin “You blocked all memories from that event. Which I think, was for the best” She jolted something in her scroll before looking at you with another smile “Now, what do you say if we move onto a brighter subject? Like what you wanted to do, or what was your favorite book, or your favorite poem, or the things you liked to do with your friends, even… you know who.”
  115.
  116. “Who? Eris?”
  117. >Twilight’s face became twisted for a moment as she let out a growl ”Yesss… even her.” She then shook her head and regained that smile “It can be anything you want”
  118. >Hmmm… well, you could adapt your previous life without much problem. You only had to keep it short, simple and avoid saying that you used to be a hairless ape with alcoholism and suicidal tendencies.
  119. >Hmmm, if Twilight is making some kind of report about this, maybe you should do a little intro to make it more interesting.
  120. “Eh… That’s a little broad but I’ll do my best to not make it super long. Y’see, Twilight, my world had lots of problems, lots and looooots of problems, as in, I don’t think that Equestria has ever seen anything like it, but with that said, I still enjoyed some parts of that life”
  121. >Twilight didn’t answer at first since she was busy writing on that scroll ”Aham… lots of problems… made the best out of it… Okay, I got that down!” Twilight looked at you again, eager for you to continue
  122. >Alright, time to do some modifications. Leave out things like your previous childhood is nothing more than a sad blur that you blocked almost entirely, or the fact that you can barely remember most of the people you knew back there.
  123. >Just keep the essential, don’t lie about the honestly awful mate you used to be and everything shall be fine.
  124. “I didn’t really have many friends outside of Eris since I really only had one passion which was reading. I loved, still love, to read books so that’s what I did most of the day. Reading and studying was so important to me that I actually never cared about other ponies”
  125. >All of what you said, you knew it was true, it was your darn life after all, but telling everything out loud felt… alien. As if you were telling the story of someone else, not yours.
  126.
  127. >”Heh… so you too, huh?”
  128. >Your ears perked up at that. What did she said?
  129. >Twilight stopped writing as really melancholic look appeared on her face “Sorry to interrupt you, Anon. It’s just that, before meeting my friends, I was the same as you”
  130. “Whoa! You are not lying?”
  131. >Twilight slowly shook her head “I wish, but I’m not. I was so into my studies that I didn’t cared about making friends or ignored the few I had… like Moon Dancer, It’s just… kind of endearing that both of us came from a similar place”
  132. >You leaned back on your chair and rubbed the back of your head
  133. “Yeah, you’re right. I’m supposed to be the Prince of Harmony and back in that old world, I was many things but harmonious? Nah, especially considering my other hobbies. Which of course, I’ll tell you about, because we’re friends.”
  134. >”Thank you, Anon” She let out a heavy sigh and smiled again as she readied the quill “Sorry for getting emotional there, please, continue”
  135. >Dang… these changes of mood in Twilight were really throwing you off balance, but you agreed to tell her everything and by everything that is science, you will do that!
  136. >Still, you wished that you could read this purple hotness a bit better.
  137. “I…uh…okay? Anyways, Eris was the same, she didn’t like anyo… anypony so we kind of liked to spend our time together and not care about the outside world. So, while I spent my time reading Eris on the other hoof, loved to play pranks on basically every single thing that moved.”
  138. >”Wow, Eris liked to play jokes” Twilight rolled her eyes so hard that you thought they were gonna pop out from her skull, then she rested her head on her hoof “What a surprise”
  139.
  140. >You couldn’t help but to shrug at that.
  141. “It’s not like she did everything on her own, y’know? I did help her with those jokes. She came up with the ideas and I’d device a plan to execute in such a perfect way that nopony would ever be able to trace them back to us.”
  142. >”That’s awful!” Why Twilight did get so worked up about this all of the sudden? “I can’t believe that Eris would take advantage of your genius like that!”
  143. >Oh… she thought that Eris manipulated you. Yeah, nah. That’s not what happened, not at all. In fact, it kind of offended you that she would even think that.
  144. >It bothered you because that implied that you were dumb enough to let yourself get played like a fiddle and you were darn genius! Oh yeah… and it also implied that Eris was a jerk, which she ain’t.
  145. “What?! No! She didn’t do that! Eris would never do that! I… helped her because I wanted to… y’see, I actually liked to come up with these plans, and lemme tell you, they were always a masterpiece in scheming.”
  146. >Twilight raised an eyebrow at you and kept silent for a few seconds before finally asking ”…Are you serious?”
  147. >You proudly nodded as you let out an arrogant chuckle
  148. “And you can bet everything you own that I still have the touch!”
  149.
  150. >Wait… why was she giving you that disapproving look? What did you say… ah… dang, you screwed it up.
  151. “Oh… you meant it in the bad way…”
  152. >You nervously rubbed the back of your head until you finally shrugged it off
  153. “Uh… well, I did tell you that I wasn’t really harmonious, so… yeah, helping Eris to prank ponies was another thing that I liked to do…”
  154. >”I know you said it, it’s just that… never mind” Twilight quickly shook her head before writing down something in that scroll. Then she looked at you with a reflexive look “So your hobbies were to read books… and help Eris with those dumb jokes, but what about her? What did Eris think about your passion for reading?”
  155. >You waved your hoof dismissively and chuckled.
  156. “Oh, she didn’t care about my books at all.”
  157. >Twilight rolled her eyes again and let out an annoyed groan ”Typical”
  158. >Using your magic, you took a jelly donut and gave it a bite… MATE, THESE WERE DELICIOUS! YOU TOTALLY HAD TO BRING CHERRYWOOD HERE ONE DAY!
  159. >After savoring this absolutely great piece of heaven, you spoke again… with your mouth full, of course.
  160. “Maybe, but Eris certainly cared that I didn’t feel bad about my hobby”
  161. >”WHAT?!” Twilight slammed her hooves so hard on the table that you thought it was gonna get shattered into a million pieces. Luckily, that didn’t happen… it just brought the attention of the entire restaurant on you once more.
  162.
  163. >After apologizing for the ruckus and making sure that no eyes were on the two of you. Twilight rubbed her temples as she continued with her rant
  164. >”Reading is an amazing thing that can transport you to so many different places. You can go to different worlds, or travel back in time to an era before civilization. You can learn the secrets of the universe or understand somepony’s personal feelings through a beautiful poem! I-I just can’t understand why would you ever feel bad about such a beautiful hobby!”
  165. >You swallowed the last remnants of that jelly donut and proceeded to take a bite out of a chocolate one.
  166. “I agree, I totally do, that’s why I love reading so much… but many ponies in that world didn’t see it like that, in fact, they thought that reading books was a thing that only weirdo eggheads would do. But Eris made them stop, for good. She always, ALWAYS had my back … and she regularly stole lots of books so I could have something new to read. I thought that was super cool so I regularly stole different things that would help Eris with her pranks”
  167. >You wished that was a joke but it really wasn’t. Of course, you also had to omit that Eris and you stole alcohol first and foremost. Lots and lots of booze… fun times.
  168. >Twilight placed her hoof on her forehead and gently shook her head as she groaned ”Anon stealing is bad. I know that your situation must have been bad, but I really hope that you have dropped that nasty habit”
  169. >You nervously gulped down your donut as you started to nervously look at every direction. Well, that meant Twilight won’t like your laboratory as much as you wished.
  170. >You hated to do this since you didn’t like to lie, but…uh… this one kinda was a must.
  171. “Y-Yeah! I-I totally did! No stealing from me! Nu-Uh! I have never stolen anything in all my time in Equestria and I will never steal again!”
  172.
  173. >Speaking of that, you had to ask Cherrywood when are you gonna steal those helmets from the Night Guard. The metal they are made off is an amazing conductor for your experiments with those magical crystals.
  174. > Twilight used her magic to pack her quill and scroll ”Alright Anon, I think that should suffice to give me an idea of who you were and let me tell you, the road you have travelled and the improvements you have made are nothing to sniff at, but now is my turn to tell you my story.”
  175. >She placed her hooves on the table, giggled and gave you a wink that of course made your face go super red “So go ahead, Anon. Ask me everything you want, except…”
  176. >You tilted your head in confusion as you munched your donut
  177. “Except?”
  178. >Twilight’s face went from playful to annoyed in less than a second “Except for my love life… Seriously, you have no idea on how many ponies ask me about it and I always tell them the same thing. I won’t say anything because there’s literally nothing to tell…”
  179. >For some reason… you felt a great relief after hearing that.
  180. >You grabbed another donut, bite it and then gave Twilight a cocky grin
  181. “Guess I can kiss goodbye to most of my questions, but I can still think on others like… Why did you get so mad that Eris switched your books for compendiums about Quesadillas?”
  182. >Twilight’s pupils shrank as she shuddered “Please… do not make any mention of Quesadillas”
  183. “What? Why? Are you scared of them?”
  184.
  185. >”Of course I do! What pony in his sane mind wouldn’t?!” Twilight leaned closer to you with this crazy look on her face “They are so… brrr… cheesy!”
  186. >You tilted your head back and gave Twilight a baffled look but ultimately shrugged it off and continued.
  187. >But not before making a mental note about telling this to your mom later. You bet that she can come up with something good and not too harmful for the purple sexiness.
  188. “Okaaay… Then what about? Hmm… lemme think… Oh, yeah! How did you meet your gang? Oh! And I remember hearing something about the science of friendship. As the future best scientist-Prince that has ever lived, I’m curious about that.”
  189. >Twilight smiled widely at those words “I was so hoping that you would ask that! Alright Anon, get ready to take notes, because this will be a class that you will never forget!”
