  1. tokyolinux
  2. whats up deemington
  3. im thinking of doing an article about CoinSource and CryptoAsian services basically failing users. Both EquinoxCoin and MidasCoin were "vetted" by these services and both turned into massive scams
  4. The whole "proof-of-developer" being an excuse to run ICOs
  5. I think the article by CryptoCoinNews was not very good because it basically didn't put enough criticism on CoinSource for failing to vet the systems and developers
  6. deemington
  7. hey man
  8. ye it's a tough one really
  9. I guess cryptoasian would say he doesn't guarantee anything
  10. tokyolinux
  11. right
  12. coinsource seems to give out these PODs much faster and with less scrutiny than cryptoasian
  13. im very skeptical of their impartiality
  14. deemington
  15. ye
  16. I saw a new one the other day
  17. ill try find it
  18. deemington
  19. https://www.cryptocertify.com/
  20. tokyolinux
  21. thx
  22. tokyolinux
  23. good to see competition in these resources
  24. but they should give an extra star for pure blockchains - no ICO and no premine
  25. deemington
  26. Ye, I think the whole thing is pretty flawed though
  27. tokyolinux
  28. i agree
  29. deemington
  30. if a developer acts all mysterious then its just obvious
  31. tokyolinux
  32. no doubt
  33. deemington
  34. Imagine a company launching and people asking if they have verified they are actual developers
  35. just shows how fucked up crypto is
  36. tokyolinux
  37. it's just like a basic rule of thumb, any premine or ICO is a centrally controlled blockchain
  38. i agree
  39. deemington
  40. A real dev would go on video too
  41. tokyolinux
  42. definitely
  43. but the dev going on video should be the actually dev
  44. lol
  45. the coder
  46. deemington
  47. ye
  48. tokyolinux
  49. the real protocol creators
  50. deemington
  51. well not defo
  52. tokyolinux
  53. not CEO front-men
  54. deemington
  55. if they were willing to take responsibilty if it was a scam then thats fine
  56. tokyolinux
  57. there's only one coin that is allowed to have an anonymous dev and thats bitcoin
  58. everything else is just smoke and mirrors
  59. deemington
  60. yes also because a coin has no chance of succeeding if they are not willing to make face to face business meetings etc
  61. even if it wasn't a scam
  62. tokyolinux
  63. i agree
  64. blackcoin would go a lot further if rat4 was not anonymous
  65. tokyolinux
  66. that was the old way of thinking, when everyone thought they had to be like satoshi
  67. deemington
  68. yep
  69. The digibyte dev has the right idea
  70. tokyolinux
  71. i agree
  72. dgb sets a good example
  73. deemington
  74. go to conferences and stuff like that to make contacts
  75. tokyolinux
  76. along with dogecoin
  77. deemington
  78. ye
  79. tbh the fact that not much really separates any crypto means a lot of the chances of success depends on business
  80. tokyolinux
  81. i think you're right about that
  82. tokyolinux
  83. however, i would say that protocol specifications are more important than people realize
  84. and sometimes a bad protocol makes it way harder
  85. deemington
  86. ye defo a solid foundation is essential
  87. myriad is a perfect example
  88. they have so much stuff going for them, simple miner, merge mining pools etc
  89. but because no businesses are going for it the value has dropped big time
  90. tokyolinux
  91. yeah
  92. deemington
  93. imo they have the most solid foundation of any alt but still got nowhere
  94. tokyolinux
  95. the mintpal collapse fucked over Myr, Vrc, Sys,
  96. The problem of crypto in general, is most of the protocols have too many coins and are trying to take over the world
  97. when most these coins were launched, they looked at Dogecoin
  98. and thought that was going to work for them
  99. hundreds of millions or billions of coins
  100. deemington
  101. ye
  102. I dont think the amount of coins matters too much as long as it doesn't drop to 1 sat
  103. at that point its over
  104. tokyolinux
  105. too many coins causes markets to stalemate easily
  106. it happened to mintcoin and now reddcoin
  107. i think Potcoin is like the maximum a coin should go
  108. deemington
  109. but look at doge
  110. so many coins worked well for them with tipping etc
  111. tokyolinux
  112. Yeah, you can get away with it with a large enough community
  113. i think doge will die going forward though
  114. in terms of price
  115. it will probably end up stalemating in the 10-20 sats rnage
  116. deemington
  117. could well do, I think merge mining was a bad decision for the long term
  118. tokyolinux
  119. i think what will happen is scrypt miners will continue to rape all of these coins down to nothing
  120. darkcoin is overtaking litecoin
  121. deemington
  122. yep defo
  123. tokyolinux
  124. darkcoin is such an awesome coin
  125. one of the truly successful altcoins
  126. they are innovating more than almost any other altcoin
  127. deemington
  128. ye I think an anon coin will succeed
  129. I dont think governments will like it which will be a massive stumbling block though
  130. tokyolinux
  131. yes
  132. i think most anon coins will die because there's only need for one
  133. darkcoin is the only one anyone will invest in due to the developer
  134. he's transparent
  135. and he kicks ass
  136. deemington
  137. ye
  138. tokyolinux
  139. i wish cannabiscoin would die because of his shitty blockchain, but i think it will survive for all the wrong reasons
  140. everyone knows he's big in the cannabis industry
  141. deemington
  142. cannabiscoin will be interesting to watch
  143. tokyolinux
  144. it sucks he didn't just use potcoin or cannacoin
  145. deemington
  146. at least they're doing something different
  147. tokyolinux
  148. instead he had to create his own shitty premined coin
  149. deemington
  150. Ye I know
  151. so many weed coins like that
  152. grow
  153. he made his own coin for one shop
  154. lol
  155. deemington
  156. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=852844.0
  157. tokyolinux
  158. yay another shitty premine ico
  159. *crash*
  160. tokyolinux
  161. I'm still shocked to read through those threads
  162. dreams of instant riches
  163. deemington
  164. the endless drones who buy in and then defend everything is really bad
  165. deemington
  166. what do you know of adam garrity?
  167. I get the feeling he is pretty dodgey
  168. tokyolinux
  169. i think my article will be very comprehensive
  170. im going to try and locate all of the failed and scam ICOs
  171. deemington
  172. longest article ever
  173. tokyolinux
  174. Adam Garrity
  175. He has some type of social disorder
  176. He's very paranoid
  177. he exhibits the "they are trying to steal my ideas" disorder
  178. deemington
  179. he just doesn't bother with his own coin's ann
  180. tokyolinux
  181. He doesn't seem to trust anyone to help him
  182. He has no team
  183. That's his #1 problem
  184. No team and no trust.
  185. For an ICO, I think his price was very fair
  186. the protocol was pretty good
  187. deemington
  188. you think he really has connections in the industry?
  189. tokyolinux
  190. For sure
  191. deemington
  192. I can't tell if he is an outright scammer
  193. tokyolinux
  194. He produces hash
  195. He works with growers to make hash and oils
  196. deemington
  197. ah ok
  198. tokyolinux
  199. Nah he lives and works in CO
  200. But he's fucking wierd
  201. like probably into little Asian girls wierd
  202. deemington
  203. lol
  204. tokyolinux
  205. his twitter account has Japanese characters on it
  206. deemington
  207. oh ye
  208. tokyolinux
  209. anyways
  210. deemington
  211. I would love to know what happened with him and delta
  212. tokyolinux
  213. Me too
  214. I'd like to do an interview about that
  215. deemington
  216. he blocked me on twitter even though I never tweeted him
  217. just because of potcoin connections i guess
  218. tokyolinux
  219. I guess so
  220. I think the 1g = 1 cann was his idea
  221. deemington
  222. ahh
  223. tokyolinux
  224. I think he's pissed that D9 took over the project entirely
  225. I don't think the premine helped
  226. deemington
  227. ye but he quit before the whole premine thing was made public
  228. tokyolinux
  229. I have a feeling D9 might have gone behind his back and changed passwords and got the dev contacts
  230. deemington
  231. ahh
  232. tokyolinux
  233. I think Adam was the guy getting the protocol changes done and D9 was the one with control of the Github
  234. deemington
  235. I see
  236. ye we need to get him to write his story
  237. tokyolinux
  238. This is just what I think from my experiences with both of them
  239. deemington
  240. that would be awesome
  241. tokyolinux
  242. Well, Adam told me that the premine was just the beginning
  243. I think he and D9 instamined the network pretty hard the first month
  244. before the halving occured
  245. deemington
  246. I remember going to mine some and there was no compiled wallet available
  247. tokyolinux
  248. the protocol changes were bullshit
  249. yup
  250. the x11 launch was super gray
  251. if you go back and look at the ANN threads
  252. it was a very shady re-launch
  253. lack of wallets, no time-frame
  254. deemington
  255. ye
  256. tokyolinux
  257. d9 premined 2% of 420 million
  258. deemington
  259. I'm talking about the scrypt days when i say there was no wallet
  260. tokyolinux
  261. the scrypt launch was pretty bad
  262. the x11 launch after that created a blackhole
  263. of mysterious coins
  264. deemington
  265. ye
  266. tokyolinux
  267. tbh, i don't know why he didn't just account for them
  268. that's what was so wierd
  269. we gave him so many chances to explain it
  270. we asked him about it over video chats
  271. deemington
  272. yer it was a stupid plan in the first place tbh
  273. tokyolinux
  274. it just puts the coin in a wierd place
  275. because on one hand he makes it seem like he's growing 1000 pounds of weed
  276. on the other hand, he wasn't transparent about the most basic details
  277. i think he's lying about most of it
  278. we know he paid off bittrex
  279. to create volume
  280. he basically admitted it in one of our video chats
  281. i didn't record it
  282. deemington
  283. ahh
  284. tokyolinux
  285. he had a "meeting" with the Bittrex guys - after he was already on Bittrex
  286. deemington
  287. Ye the way hes going on at the moment doesn't look good
  288. tokyolinux
  289. Well, it looks like a Ponzi scheme in a way
  290. from an outside perspective
  291. like hey I'm growing warehouses full of weed for CANN
  292. im going to give it all away lol
  293. deemington
  294. ye
  295. If I was him and it was all legit I would be giving daily updates
  296. tokyolinux
  297. with exact numbers
  298. like here's how many plants we are growing, here's the lights, here's the nutes
  299. here's the genetics
  300. deemington
  301. ye
  302. So Bittrex created fake volume?
  303. tokyolinux
  304. can't prove it
  305. but it times well with our video chat
  306. and those bittrex wallets
  307. on the premine analysis
  308. those are internal bittrex wallets
  309. deemington
  310. I see
  311. everything is so fuckin scammy
  312. tokyolinux
  313. meaning those wallets belong to bittrex specifically
  314. not users
  315. yeah well im not going to fud them
  316. but we stumbled across these facts
  317. nothing was a lie
  318. it was all there for people to see
  319. and D9 made it worse by denying it
  320. the whole thing was fucked
  321. deemington
  322. yer
  323. tokyolinux
  324. in my opinion, what D9 did was a slap in the face of legitimate coins
  325. like Potcoin, Cannacoin, HempCoin
  326. but justice is blind
  327. hehe
  328. deemington
  329. ye
  330. tokyolinux
  331. like you said, at the end of the day, even scammy coins can survive with business plans
  332. deemington
  333. well it will be interesting to see what happens
  334. tokyolinux
  335. i think so too
  336. deemington
  337. If he does give all that weed to a few dispensaries it might just get enough media attention for the thing to take off
  338. tokyolinux
  339. Yeah
  340. tokyolinux
  341. I'm sure everyone wants to make some Bitcoin off that pump
  342. I know I do
  343. tokyolinux
  344. the price is back down to where it was the last time we talked about it lol
  345. deemington
  346. lol ye
  347. tokyolinux
  348. but it's not so certain a buy now
  349. deemington
  350. ye so many people buying now will dump for a few % profit it will have to be a crazy pump to get it back above 10k
  351. tokyolinux
  352. yup
