The policeman forced me to leave this location.
I told him to watch the news to obtain information.

Gerunds can also include information about affirmative/negative, passive, or perfect.

Attending college typically requires studying a lot and doing all of your homework.
	= You have to study and do your homework while you attend college.
Attending college typically requires having passed a test and completed high school.
	= You have to pass a test and complete high school before you attend college.

Infinitives use the object pronoun:
	My dad encouraged me to apply to many universities.
Gerunds use the possessive:
	My dad dislikes my going out with my boyfriend.

I saw him driving. = I saw him. He was driving at the time.
I saw his driving. = I saw the action. I saw how well he drives. I know he goes too fast and doesn’t pay attention.
