Labor Dispute

	"Remember that year that it was still getting over a hundred
degrees in mid October? That was me, waddling around with Michael in
my belly. And I was in labor for fourteen hours."

	"I remember! That must have been awful for you. I remember how
cold it was when Jessica was born. It had just snowed, and the car
skated all the way to the hospital. I was afraid I would be giving
birth in the street. But then I had to wait another day and a half."

	"A day and a half? That's not possible. Surely you weren't in
labor for thirty-six hours."

	"I distinctly remember. It was getting dark on a Thursday night
when we arrived at the ER. And Jessica was born on Saturday
morning."

	"Couldn't it have been Friday night that you went to the ER?"

	"Don't you think I remember my own child's birthday?"

	"Marcie, you couldn't keep track of your head if it wasn't
attached to your body."
