The Tale of the Little Bluebird

This is the story of the little bluebird.  This story was told to me by my Zen Master who loved to teach via stories and parables, I learned from and it and hope you do too. ;=]


As the seasons changed and the air began to cool the lead bluebird of a flock gave the call to fly South to warmer air

One little bluebird doubted the older bird and said he liked the North and that he preferred to stay

And so the flock began to fly South and the little bluebird stayed behind.

Not a week went by before the air grew quite cold and the little bluebird realized the mistake he made.

He started the journey South but the cold air soon chilled his wings and he had trouble flying.

He quickly lost altitude and began to spiral towards the Earth in flurry of feathers.

The little bluebird hit ground in a cow field with not much life left in him

Along came a cow who proceeded to poop on the little bird!

Well the warm manure helped warm the little bird.

The little bluebird began to flap his wings with joy and prepared to take flight again.

However all the flapping caught the attention of the farm cat who pounced on the bird and ate him


There are two lessons to be learned from the little bluebird

1 Not everyone that shits on you is your enemy
2 Not everyone that gets you out of shit is your friend
