  1. <Darkling> Thunder roils outside. Thunder? No.. not in the dome. Something else then, who knows really. Either way, it's pouring rain outside which only makes the atmosphere in the dreary dome even more depressing.
  2. <Darkling> It's the weekend after the Jotun attack. You've all had the week off school. Now however, you're stuck at home in the apartment. Lit's in his study, leaving you each to your own mechenations.
  3. Rasia takes up the entire couch, despite her stature, her eyes fixed on the rain pummeling the window. Rubber squeaks quietly as she chews on her mouthguard.
  4. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wil is hidden away quietly inside his room, tablet PC taking up his attention.
  5. Corrin just paces around the apartment, unused to the free-time. The post-mission slump's long worn off by now.
  6. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja is in a chair with her tablet on her lap. She's giving it a little looking over, apparently still quite new to the device but managing.
  7. <Darkling> *Bloop!* Your tablet seems to want your attention Lahja.
  8. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Hm?" She gives it a peculiar look at the sudden noise. After a while she slowly gets around to checking the mail on it.
  9. Corrin disappears back down the corridor to the pilot rooms.
  10. <Darkling> Wil.. yours does the same.
  11. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." How annoying, and here he was trying to break into the special net- well, you know. With a sigh he accesses his mail.
  12. Rasia wiggles an ear, jumping off the couch to see what Corrin's up to.
  13. <Lahja_Ilvainen> After looking over the message Lahja quickly begins typing. She cast a peculiar look at Corrin, should he pass by at any point.
  14. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He turns off the tablet and sets it on his desk. A stretch, and he pulls out a thin jacket that looks like white plastic. Hes pulling it on as he walks down the hallway and out into the common area.
  15. Corrin is coming back towards the living room, having reached the end of the short corridor.
  16. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Corrin and Rasia get a look, making sure they stay out of his way as he passes.
  17. <Rasia> >implying Rasia would get out of either boy's way
  18. [2011-05-29 20:23:14] <Wilhelm_Faustus> He dodges around Rasia and makes for the elevator, yanking up a hood already.
  19. Corrin glances back at him, missing Rasia's appearance.
  20. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His foot taps as he waits for the elevator, watching his reflection and that of the apartment in the elevator doors.
  21. <Darkling> That thunder sound booms again, reverberating in the apartment.
  22. <Rasia> Thunk. Rasia's mass stops Corrin, before a firm hand shoves him back. Her head snaps around so hard the bones pop, alert at the sound of thunder.
  23. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He steps in, turns around and only says, "I'm going out." as the doors close.
  24. <Darkling> The other pilots are left as the door closes and the elevator descends.
  25. Rasia snorts...then looks at Wilhelm's door. She saunters over, giving the door an idle test.
  26. Corrin stares at the apartment doors for a moment, then shakes his head. "Should've confirmed it with the Captain first." he mutters, more to himself than to Rasia.
  27. <Lahja_Ilvainen> After busily typing away on her tablet for a short while Lahja looks in Corrin's general direction. She gets off the chair, then approaches, clearing her throat.
  28. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well, it isn't locked.
  29. Rasia slithers in!
  30. Corrin jerks his head around. "Pilot Lahja?"
  31. <Wilhelm_Faustus> It's much the same it was on her last visit. The bed is made, books everywhere...
  32. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Pilot Corrin. I have been given instructions concerning you."
  33. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm frowns as he steps out into the rain, looking back over his shoulder once toward the apartment building.
  34. <Rasia> Time to change that. If he's going to leave his territory unguarded...
  35. <Darkling> Wil, it's a torrential downpour outside. Gods only know why the engineers built it like this. You would think they'd build it to be a nicer climate.
  36. Corrin nods, now much more alert. "Understood. What are they?"
  37. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Assholes, clearly. He trudges through the artificial storm toward his destination.
  38. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "By order of my colleague Ivy, I am to hug you. Your response shall be reported." She then moves in to do just that, though it's a half hearted attempt, and rather brief if it connects.
  39. <Darkling> Thunder booms again, and the street feels like it shakes a little. There's only a few people wandering outside right now, all carrying umbrellas and hurrying through the rain.
  40. <Corrin> "Wait, wha-" Corrin just stands there.
  41. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "My duty has been performed." Lahja releases Corrin, then snaps a quick salute at him. "Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, soldier!"
  42. <Wilhelm_Faustus> There's a sense of relief as he enters a new building, free of the rain pouring outside. He slowly lowers the hood and steps into yet another elevator.
  43. <Corrin> "Wait, wait, Ivy?" Corrin manages to say. "Trainee Ivy Hollander? You know Ivy?"
  44. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Yes." Lahja responds with a nod. "I met her before I came to Berlin. We got along well enough, and she recently contacted me with special instructions."
  45. <Darkling> The elevator doors open again to that familiar office Wil.
  46. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Another sigh and he approaches, knocking lightly.
  47. <Darkling> The door opens at his knocks, the doctor sitting in her normal chair.
  48. Corrin just nods, grinning. "Typical Ivy. Wait, instructions? Plural?"
  49. Corrin suddenly looks slightly wary.
  50. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Nothing terrible this time." Lahja waves dismissively. "She only wanted me to make sure nothing bad happens to you."
  51. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He steps inside, hanging up the jacket before having a seat in his usual place.
  52. Corrin nods slowly. "Sheeesh. I wasn't that far behind her in the scores..." he grumbles. "Just because that one time with the Commander's hat..."
  53. <Corrin> "Can you tell me where you met or..."
  54. <Darkling> "Hello Wil. Hope you didn't get to wet outside." Freyja smiles, her cheeks seem somewhat rosy today.
  55. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...not overly much."
  56. <Darkling> "Good. So, what shall we talk about today?"
  57. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He shrugs slightly.
  58. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "She's just concerned is all." Lahja says, not seeming to make much of the matter. "We met in the UN dome. It's much prettier there, but we don't have Jotun attacks." The latter is said as if it were a good thing.
  59. <Darkling> "Nothing on your mind?"
  60. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...I had another strange dream...a few, actually."
  61. <Darkling> "Tell me about them." She has her pen and paper at the ready.
  62. <Corrin> "Well, we have the chance to do what we were trained for here. Our duty. That's worth something, right?" Corrin replies.
  63. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...one of them was Rasia attacking me, ripping out my heart. For a moment it didn't look like a heart though, more like a red orb, like a..." He lets it hang there, he didn't need to tell her what it looked like.
  64. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "The dream may have been a long time in coming. She regularly assaults me."
  65. <Darkling> "I've heard she also protects you." Scribble scribble.
  66. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Yes." Lahja nods, her expression and tone growing serious. "It's worth everything."
  67. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "You're likely reading too much into the incident." He snorts lightly.
  68. <Darkling> "Tell me about your other dreams."
  69. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...the other one I remember...I was out in the waste. I don't know where, there were no signs of civilization. There was just a crater. It stretched out as far as I could see."
  70. <Darkling> "Mmm."
  71. Corrin nods in response, attention drifting. "The UN Dome..." Corrin repeats thoughtfully. "So that's where Ivy was assigned. No wonder, her being top of the class and all..."
  72. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "The Black Moon was closer than I'd ever seen it before. I was drawn toward the center of the crater. So I walked, sometimes sliding on an icy patch. When I finally got there, there was a tree."
  73. <Darkling> Lit suddenly walks out from his room, throwing a big raincoat on. He steps over to Corrin and Lahja. "Where are the other two?"
  74. <Corrin> "Sir!" Corrin says, snapping to attention. "Pilot Wilhelm left the building earlier, sir!"
  75. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "It was a massive tree, but it looked dead. There were no leaves, limbs stretching high into the air, thick roots running deep into the snow. And I was there. I could see myself, touching the tree and looking up at the Black Moon."
  76. Corrin is suddenly all business again. "Pilot Rasia is in Pilot Wilhelm's room, sir."
  77. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I was talking...or he was talking, the person that looked like me."
  78. <Darkling> "Ah, right. His doctor appointment." He looks at Wilhelm's door, then back to the two of you. "I've got to head to the base in a hurry. You're all going to be left here til likely after dinner."
  79. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja turns to Lit as well, offering a quick salute. Strangely, her salute to Corrin came off as more serious. "Have a safe trip, sir!"
  80. <Corrin> "Yes, sir." Corrin responds automatically. "Your orders?"
  81. <Darkling> "Try not to burn down the apartment. You can get a hold of me through your tablets if you need to. Maybe go out or something?" He shrugs, and gives a sulate to the two of them before heading to the elevator.
  82. <Darkling> "Ahh." Freyja continues to write.
  83. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "He said..." He clears his throat. "And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches toward Yggdrasil to be born? It comes. The supreme folly. This is the hour. Ragnarok."
  84. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...I woke up after that, with a nosebleed."
  85. Corrin watches the Captain leave, remaining at attention until the doors close and the elevator descends.
  86. <Darkling> "Hmm." She scribbles a few more notes down and closes her pad.
  87. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Go out..." Lahja says as if it were an alien concept, and an intimidating one at that. She relaxes once Lit is gone.
  88. Corrin exhales after a while, relaxing somewhat. "Pilot Lahja...Thank you. For passing the message on."
  89. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He falls silent, seems hes said all he plans to for now.
  90. <Darkling> "Have you ever heard anyone speak of Yggdrasil before?" She peers down at him.
  91. <Corrin> "Well, the Captain did give an order...sort of."
  92. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "The Old Men, maybe."
  93. Corrin glances towards his own room's door. Better get his tablet as ordered. He has a vague idea of how to use it by now. Somewhat.
  94. <Darkling> "They always liked to speak in riddles to others. Yggdrasil is just an old legend though."
  95. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Yes... I suppose I'll need to get to know the town better before too much longer." She says this more to herself than Corrin, but then quickly addresses the other pilot. "Would you like me to send you Ivy's address? She told me she was doing things with my mother now."
  96. <Corrin> "Yeah." Corrin says with a quick jerk of his head. "That'd be great. Thanks!"
  97. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...it's an annoying game they play."
  98. <Darkling> "I'd like to talk to you about the incident after the Jotun, with the nurse."
  99. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It will be yours later tonight. I should follow orders soon." Lahja then looks toward the elevator and stares. Seems she's having second thoughts.
  100. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...she was trying to draw blood."
  101. Corrin is much cheerier than he was five minutes ago. "Me too. We should get our tablets."
  102. Corrin is already walking towards his room.
  103. <Darkling> "True, and they should not have been treating you without me there. But I think you need to keep your cool under such situations."
  104. Corrin glances at Wilhelm's door as he steps inside.
  105. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He hangs his head a bit. "...yes, of course."
  106. <Rasia> It's been awful quiet...
  107. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja goes to collect her own tablet as well... and then goes to her room, probably wanting to change before going out.
  108. <Darkling> "I do expect more from a person of your intelligence."
  109. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...yes, of course."
  110. Corrin steps out, tablet in hand, and walks over to Wilhelm's room, slightly wary. His kidney's much better now.
  111. <Corrin> "Pilot Rasia?"
  112. <Rasia> ...Something rustles. A series of thuds. After a few moments, the door opens. Her short hair is even messier than before, clothes disheveled. She asks the obvious question with her eyes. 'Yes?'
  113. <Darkling> "Good. Continue with your journal. We'll see you again in a week Next appointment is a full physical."
  114. <Corrin> "Did you hear the Captain's instructions?" Corrin asks bluntly.
  115. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...when can we go home?" He stands and retrieves his jacket.
  116. <Rasia> A shake of the head.
  117. <Darkling> "Even I am not privy to such information."
  118. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...I see."
  119. <Corrin> "The Captain has left the building. We are not to burn it down, and if we need to contact him, we should use the tablets. He also...suggested that we should go out."
  120. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...next week then. Also...thank you again for the last book. I've almost finished it."
  121. Rasia grunts, slipping away from the door for a moment. When she exits, closing the door behind her, her pocket jingles slightly.
  122. <Corrin> "And what're you doing in there?"
  123. <Rasia> Mmmmmmnope, she doesn't look like she's going to answer.
  124. Corrin stares at the closed door for a moment, then shrugs. Pilot Rasia understands the Captain's orders, and that'll do.
  125. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He pulls the jacket on and leaves. As he steps into the elevator he mutters. "...there are too many people here."
  126. <Darkling> Looks like it is still raining out when you get downstairs Wil.
  127. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja exits her room, now dressed appropriately for the rain. Looks like she took the time to brush out her hair again as well.
  128. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Fucking fake rain. Fucking dome. He yanks his hood up, hands deep in his pockets as he scowls, making his way back to the apartment.
  129. Corrin glances out of the window, undecided, tablet in one hand.
  130. Rasia lurks by the elevator door, not even wearing day clothes.
  131. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Are we ready, fellow pilots?" She asks, trying to sound cheerful. The attempt fails miserably.
  132. <Corrin> "Ready and willing." Corrin responds distractedly as he looks outside. "Any ideas?"
  133. Wilhelm_Faustus slows and eventually stops, peering at a side alley.
  134. <Darkling> There was definitely a rustling noise down that alley Wil.
  135. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He should ignore it, obviously. He starts walking again, but actually turns around and goes back, entering the alley.
  136. Rasia signs 'food', impatiently.
  137. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Maybe there's a war movie playing somewhere? Or food..."
  138. Corrin has no idea what the feral pilot is doing.
  139. <Darkling> *Bing* The elevator door opens on it's own.
  140. Rasia jerks her head around.
  141. <Corrin> "I suppose so. Tr-"
  142. <Darkling> That garbage back just moved Wil.
  143. Corrin turns.
  144. <Darkling> The elevator is empty.
  145. Rasia scrunches her nose, stepping inside.
  146. <Corrin> "Huh?"
  147. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He approaches the garbage bag, peering around for the source of the disturbance.
  148. <Corrin> "We can decide on the way, I guess." Corrin says with a shrug as Rasia moves. "Let's go!"
  149. <Darkling> Something small is moving about under it.
  150. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja enters the elevator. She looks about inside and nods to Corrin.
  151. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "..." He looks back toward the street, then to the bag. He picks it up...
  152. <Darkling> Underneath the bag of trash is a little white ball of fluff trying to stay dry. It mews at you.
  153. Corrin presses the "close doors" button.
  154. <Darkling> The doors close and the elevator descends.
  155. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." That was all? He almost puts the bag back on top of it, then sets it aside and kneels down.
  156. <Darkling> It sits up, pawing the air before you.
  157. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He reaches out and picks it up, eyeing it as he holds it at arms length.
  158. <Darkling> It's instantly purring in your grip.
  159. <Corrin> "Pilot Rasia, do you have your tablet?"
  160. <Darkling> *Bing* The elevator reaches ground floor and opens up into the lobby.
  161. Rasia glances at Corrin, showing her open, empty hands. Unless she's hiding it in her pajama shirt...
  162. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...Hel." He stands up and pulls the cat is close, holding it tucked inside his jacket.
  163. <Corrin> "The Captain did give us specific instructions." Corrin frowns.
  164. Rasia points at the tablet he himself possesses, exiting the elevator and entering the rain without the slightest care.
  165. <Corrin> "That's not the-" Corrin starts, then shakes his head and steps out after her.
  166. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja exits the elevator after Rasia, not much bothered by the rain since she bothered to dress for the occasion.
  167. <Darkling> Once outside Rasia, you can see Wil just a block and a half down the street.
  168. Rasia points at him idly, rain turning her clothes darker.
  169. Corrin looks at where she's pointing, his own street clothes getting wet.
  170. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja walks in that direction, moving forward at a brisk pace and using the edges of buildings for cover so much as possible.
  171. <Darkling> Corrin, it must be your imagination, but your not actually getting wet.
  172. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He's got something bundled up carefully inside of his jacket. The look he gives you all is one of mild irritation.
  173. Rasia jogs after her, jingling the whole way, almost instantly sticking her nose towards the bundle.
  174. <Darkling> Oh.. Corrin, that's why you aren't getting wet. There's an umbrella over your head.
  175. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...am I the only one with a brain in the entire piloting program?" He asks the group once close enough.
  176. Corrin follows the Umbrella from the top to the handle to the person holding it.
  177. <Darkling> There's an old lady standing there, smiling at you Corrin.
  178. Rasia scrunches her nose, growling at the bundle.
  179. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "The captain suggested we go out while he tends to business." Lahja says it matter of factly, not paying much heed to the bundle yet.
  180. <Corrin> "Thank you, Ma'am." Corrin says, unsure. "I...ah...forgot..."
  181. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...only one of you is dressed for the weather while she..." He points to Rasia. "...is in her pajamas."
  182. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His arms wrap around the bundle protectively.
  183. <Darkling> The old lady smiles more. "Oh!" Her voice sounds so happy. "You remind me SO much of my grandson!" She grabs your cheek, pinching it hard.
  184. <Rasia> Which, of course, only intensifies her curiosity, but she isn't ready to hurt people over it yet.
  185. Corrin stands there, awkwardly, not sure what to do. "Um..."
  186. <Darkling> "You even look like him!" She pinches the other cheek now, wiggling it about.
  187. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...bah." He decides to ignore the lot of them and walk past, heading for the apartment.
  188. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I thought about trying to dress her. But then I thought of my kidneys."
  189. Corrin stands there, trapped. "Um...yes, ma'am?"
  190. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...if she catches pnemonia I hope the thought of your kidneys comforts her." He says over his shoulder then snorts.
  191. <Darkling> "Would you like a candy little boy? My grandson #Loved #candy!"
  192. Rasia observes the exchange passively, rain starting to soak through her clothes, attention fixing on the elderly woman.
  193. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja ponders that, and then ponders Rasia snacking on her kidneys. Comforting enough, probably.
  194. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He disappears inside the apartment building lobby.
  195. Corrin glances at Wilhelm in passing, processing the boy's comment, head jerks back as the old lady speaks. "No thank you, ma'am. Um...Pilot Wilhelm does have a point, ma'am. Thanks again, ma'am."
  196. <Darkling> She gives your cheek another pinch turning it bright red. "Oh ho ho!" She's enjoying this too much.
  197. <Rasia> Bare feet splashing in puddles, she approaches from behind Corrin, watching the pinching...
  198. <Lahja_Ilvainen> After a while she decides to cave in to peer pressure, moving back toward Corrin and the old woman.
  199. Corrin just stands there, almost at attention, a very, very strained smile on his face as his eyes dart from side to side desperately.
  200. <Darkling> She jsut pinching and smiling now.
  201. <Corrin> "I...ah...should probably be going, ma'am. Thanks again, ma'am."
  202. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Tsk, tsk Corrin!" Lahja wags her finger at Corrin, her voice playfully scolding. "I don't think I could bear to tell miss Ivy that you're cheating on her with someone who could be her grandmother!"
  203. <Darkling> "Oh of course!" One last pinch.
  204. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Back in the suite, Wilhelms unzips his jacket, careful with the fuzzy white ball inside.
  205. Corrin all but flees. Jotuun are one thing, strange non-NERV personnel with a tendency to go for the face quite another.
  206. Corrin gives Lahja a glare in passing.
  207. Rasia snorts, something that could be a laugh, if not for her jaw.
  208. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Once free of the jacket he scoops up the white ball of d'aaaw and makes for his room.
  209. <Darkling> Another loud boom, this time further away now, echos through the air.
  210. Corrin practically flops against the wall of the elevator on his way up.
  211. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja laughs mercilessly in response. She decides it's enough excitement for one day, though, and heads back inside.
  212. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He slows and stops once his hand on is the doorknob. Something doesn't feel right. Warily, he pushes the door open.
  213. Corrin staggers out of the elevator.
  214. <Rasia> ...oh god. Wilhelm. Books. On the floor. Your drawers opened. Bed tangled, topsy-turvy. And everything smells...off. Any trinkets out in the open are gone, or tossed aside.
  215. Rasia drip-dries quietly in the elevator, itching as her clothes dry unevenly.
  216. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." His eye twitches.
  217. Corrin heads towards his room to put on something rain-resistant, though he's unsure if he wants to risk another ambush...
  218. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Du hurensohn!"
  219. <Corrin> "Pilot Wilhelm?"
  220. <Corrin> "What did you say?"
  221. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Fick dich arschloch." He steps inside his room and slams the door shut behind him.
  222. Rasia scrunches her nose, leaving a trail of droplets as she searches for the source of that smell.
  223. Corrin stares for a moment, then shrugs. "Pilot Rasia was in there earlier, if that's what you're asking." Well, whatever the senior Pilot's problem is, it's his own unless he's told otherwise.
  224. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The door opens back up, an Aryan looming over you Corrin.
  225. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja stares in the direction of Corrin. She seems half amused at the situation.
  226. <Corrin> "What is it?"
  227. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A book decends, spine striking you between the eyes. "What is it about her that makes you think its okay to leave her alone in someone elses room?!" Another strike. "Why didn't you stop her? No orders?" Strike. "You useless sonofabitch!" Strike! "Horst! Depp!"
  228. Rasia growls, low and firm.
  229. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja continues to watch. She considers intervening for a time, but then she thinks about the positive aspect of letting it continue. It's almost like a new lesson in picking up new and useful German words and phrases.
  230. Corrin duck a swing and comes up with his fists raised. "What the hell are you doing?" Corrin yells. "Someone else's? Why should I care about your goddamn stuff? It's not like she was breaking into the Captain's room!"
  231. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Du arschgefickter Hurensohn!" He makes another swing.
  232. Corrin ducks.
  233. <Corrin> "Someone else's room? What does that even mean? You weren't there!"
  234. <Corrin> "What's the problem with Pilot Rasia going in there, anyway?!"
  235. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stops, and smooths down his clothing. "...clearly it was a problem. But I'm wasting my time on someone like you." He runs a hand through his hair and turns, going back to his own room.
  236. Rasia snorts, deflating as the hostility passes.
  237. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He pauses at the door. "<Stay out.>" He says in Hebrew, then slams the door behind him.
  238. <Corrin> "Oh no, you don't." Corrin snarls, stepping forwards, fists balled. "What. The. Hell. Were you thinking!"
  239. <Darkling> Lahja, your tablet *bloops* at you.
  240. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja opens the tablet afterwards. It seems like a welcome distraction, the amusement of the dispute having faded somewhat.
  241. <Corrin> "They might not have trained you, but they sure as hell had to have laid down the rules!" Corrin continues to rant at the closed door, his German wavering and warping into English. He doesn't seem to notice. "Infighting among trainees is not allowed!"
  242. <Corrin> "It was an order!"
  243. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Leck mich." A click as the door is locked, then he picks up Hel and sits in the bed.
  244. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja types out a quick response, then moves closer to Corrin.
  245. Corrin starts to aim a kick at the door, pauses, and stops, muttering under his breath. He's red-faced where the book struck, and still furious.
  246. Rasia itches herself, and wanders over to the window to watch the rain fall.
  247. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "We have orders from Lit!" she says, her tone a sharp one.
  248. <Corrin> "Goddamn undisciplined crazy bookfreak who thin-"
  249. Corrin jerks around almost instantly.
  250. <Corrin> "Let me see."
  251. <Corrin> "Pilot Lahja."
  252. Corrin adds a moment later, visibly calming.
  253. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Lit wants us to eat." She waves her tablet around a bit as she says this, eventually stopping to allow the message to be seen. "Rasia needs lots of food."
  254. <Corrin> "We should follow the Captain's order, then." Corrin says more or less automatically, face still red where book spines had hit it. "I'll go and get things set up."
  255. Rasia wiggles her nose, watching Corrin head for the kitchen.
  256. <Corrin> "Pilot Lahja, you tell the bo-Pilot Wilhelm."
  257. Corrin calls as he heads for the kitchen.
  258. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Lucky me." She mutters under her breath. She makes her way to Wilhelm's door, staring at it for a time.
  259. <Wilhelm_Faustus> As if using special Aryan magic to detect her staring the door opens, a white kitten held in one arm. "...what is it?"
  260. Corrin manages to get the plates and cutlery set up more or less from memory...
  261. <Corrin> "Hmm."
  262. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I received a message from the Captain. He wants to make sure we all eat..." She stops abruptly, her eyes going to the kitten. "A kitten!"
  263. <Corrin> "What?"
  264. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...Hel."
  265. Rasia jerks her head around.
  266. Corrin steps out from the kitchen. "Pilot Lahja, I didn't catch that. What did you say?"
  267. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Hello, Hel! It's a pleasure to meet you!" Lahja leans forward, going roughly to eye level with the feline. The kitten seems to have made her oblivious to Corrin for the moment.
  268. <Darkling> *bloop* another message.
  269. Rasia creeps closer, keeping a moderate distance, eyes peeled on the kitten.
  270. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He holds Hel out to Lahja.
  271. Corrin stares, then checks his tablet at the noise.
  272. Corrin winces.
  273. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I had one named Ragnarok when I was younger." She takes the kitten, supporting its back legs with one hand while letting the rest of it rest on her shoulder.
  274. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...Ragnarok, interesting name." His hands slip into his pockets.
  275. <Corrin> "Pilot Lahja, check your tablet."
  276. Corrin calls from the hallway, hands absently clenching again.
  277. <Corrin> "And what're you're holding?"
  278. <Darkling> "Mew"
  279. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja finally takes note of Corrin and the tablet. She moves out of the hall and takes a seat on a random chair. "A kitten. Wilhelm had it." She then checks her tablet, making a one handed response.
  280. <Rasia> Rasia follows it like she's tied to it, gaze intense.
  281. Corrin picks his way over to the kitten, curiosity temporarily overtaking his orders.
  282. <Corrin> "A cat..."
  283. [2011-05-29 23:07:06] <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm watches from the hallway, just on the verge of stepping into the commons.
  284. Corrin looks at it, not really seeing the animal but something else.
  285. <Corrin> "Haven't seen one since..."
  286. Corrin is giving it a decidedly strange look.
  287. <Corrin> "Never mind the cat." Corrin snaps suddenly, looking away. "Does the Captain know about this?"
  288. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Yes. He's been informed of a situation." Lahja says it almost defensively. "I didn't mention the details."
  289. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ."
  290. Corrin nods dubiously. "And his message?"
  291. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "He wants to know if any of us can cook."
  292. <Corrin> "Yes. Yes, he does."
  293. <Lahja_Ilvainen> And then after a brief pause. "Cook food, I mean. Not the cat."
  294. <Corrin> "Good idea." Corrin says distractedly.
  295. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He approaches finally and reaches out to retrieve Hel. "...I'll be amazed if any of you can cook."
  296. Corrin jerks. "I mean, the cooking. The wanting to know."
  297. <Corrin> "Can you, Pilot?"
  298. <Lahja_Ilvainen> She relinquishes the kitten, seeming to trust Wil with it.
  299. Corrin says, looking at him coldly.
  300. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...yes, I can." He cradles Hel carefully.
  301. <Darkling> *bloop*
  302. Corrin looks surprised for a moment, then masks it by checking his tablet.
  303. <Corrin> "Oh, blast."
  304. <Corrin> "We should have replied quicker."
  305. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sighs. "Even Hel has more common sense than you, finding makeshift shelter from the elements." With that out of the way he heads into the kitchen.
  306. <Corrin> "Why, you-"
  307. Corrin cuts himself off, hands shaking. With a visible effort, he looks away, staring straight ahead at the blank wall.
  308. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sets Hel on the floor and starts pulling food out of the fridge.
  309. <Darkling> The kitten sits and begins licking a paw.
  310. <Wilhelm_Faustus> For a moment he actually smiles, looking down at Hel. Then he seriouses the fuck up and starts cooking.
  311. Corrin drops into one of the living room seats, glaring at the damned thing as it frolics. It's remarkably plump. A twist just there, just below the ears...
  312. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja rises from her chair, alternating between observing Hel and observing Wilhelm. She does make it a point to keep her distance, though.
  313. Rasia creeps up on the kitten, bare feet and hands nearly soundless.
  314. Corrin looks away once he notices his train of thought, staring at the wall instead. It's blank. He can focus on it. No memories, nothing but ingrained training and routines to keep his thoughts occupied. Discipline. Something the bookfreak never learned.
  315. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Two cans of beer are taken from the fridge, drained into a pot, then put aside.
  316. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He dices potatoes, slices mushrooms and onions, browing some ground beef as plump bratwurst is dropped into the pot of beer.
  317. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja eventually looks to the creeping Rasia, looking on with some concern. But for the moment she just watches.
  318. <Darkling> The kitten pads it's way into the common room proper, rolling onto it's back and staring up at the ceiling.
  319. Corrin gets up, avoiding the kitten, and makes his way to his room. If he sticks around for much longer, he might lose control. He can't. He won't.
  320. Rasia nearly drags her belly on the ground, reaching a hand for its tail...
  321. <Darkling> It's paws twich upwards at something unseen.
  322. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "That's not how you do it." Lahja speaks up, deciding to give Rasia's intentions the benefit of a doubt. "They'll run away or attack you if you do it like that."
  323. Rasia twitches, glancing up at Lahja, and back to the kitten...
  324. <Darkling> It's flipped around by the time you look back Rasia, a paw swatting your fingers.
  325. Corrin is already making his way back, his stride stiff and hands at his side.
  326. Wilhelm_Faustus is still cooking, though he looks back periodically toward Hel and the others.
  327. Rasia growls, batting at the kitten in reply. Enough to knock it over, but not much harder.
  328. <Darkling> It rolls, swatting back feebly.
  329. <Corrin> "It shouldn't be here." Corrin mutters. "Not without the Captain's okay first."
  330. Corrin avoids looking at the thing and its antics.
  331. Rasia swats it from the other side, starting to curl around it.
  332. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Cute." Lahja remarks, seeming to regard their antics as some form of play.
  333. <Wilhelm_Faustus> An entire bag of shredded cheese is poured onto...something...
  334. Corrin briefly wonders where the rest of his class went, before his thoughts drift to Ivy and her role in NERV. Sounds like she's happy enough. Always was the cheery one. And joker.
  335. <Corrin> "What?"
  336. <Darkling> It rolls again, and plods towards your face Rasia.
  337. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "They're playing together."
  338. Corrin grunts, gaze skittering towards and past the scene to another blank patch of wall. Cats have too many memories attached. Or related memories.
  339. Rasia sits up straighter, putting her hands on top of it, creating a ball of fuzz with a tail sticking out.
  340. <Corrin> "Pilot Rasia." Corrin says abruptly. "Do you know how to play soccer?"
  341. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Plates and silverware hit the table, followed by plated foods. Bratwursts cooked in beer, and ground beef combines with potatoes, onion, mushrooms, spices and a lotta cheese. "...done."
  342. [2011-05-29 23:45:56] <Rasia> Rasia turns her head, freeing the kitten to shake her head at Corrin before heading for the kitchen. Those PJs are...not too flattering, after drying so wrinkled.
  343. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Not concerned about eatting right now Wil gets out a blender and more meat.
  344. <Corrin> "Thought so." Corrin mutters, getting up.
  345. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja moves to examine the food. "Thank you, Wilhelm. It looks good."
  346. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A shrug as he starts to puree the meat.
  347. <Corrin> "They evidently taught you something, Pilot Wilhelm."
  348. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He smirks. "A lot more than they seem to have taught you. The simplistic ideal of only following orders must have talen up most of the space."
  349. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Now shut up and eat."
  350. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The puree ends up in a shallow dish, which he walks to Hel personally.
  351. <Darkling> The kitten sits watching him.
  352. <Corrin> "At least I know how to follow orders." Corrin snarls, hands on the table as he leans forwards. "You seem to have missed that book."
  353. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He kneels down, putting the dish in front of Hel.
  354. Rasia chews on her food, scarcely tasting it as it all disappears into her gullet.
  355. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Let's drop it." Lahja begins to eat, sounding annoyed rather than amused.
  356. Corrin just takes his seat, not looking up.
  357. <Darkling> Hel mews a couple times before licking up the pureed meat.
  358. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stays and watches, arms wrapped around his legs as he squats there. "...is it good?"
  359. Corrin keeps eating.
  360. <Darkling> The mews it emits would suggest yes.
  361. Corrin finishes, picks up his plate, and carries it over to the kitchen, ignoring the simpering bookworm.
  362. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja keeps on eating. Seems to be enjoying herself quite a bit.
  363. <Darkling> *Bing* The elevator doors slide open, Lit walking in and shaking off some rain.
  364. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Once Hel is done we stands with the dish and walks back to the kitchen. He easily seems to ignore Lit, finally sitting down to eat his meal.
  365. Corrin notices Lit as he steps out of the kitchen.
  366. <Corrin> "Sir!"
  367. <Darkling> "Ah, I see someone does know how to cook after all." He looks a little haggard.
  368. Rasia scrunches her nose, a spicy pepper hanging off her lips without a care in the world.
  369. Corrin 's smile is suddenly very strained again.
  370. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "If waf Wihem." Lahja says this with a bit of food in her mouth. She swallows it. "Sir."
  371. <Corrin> "Yes, sir."
  372. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He eats quietly.
  373. <Darkling> "I'll have some in a bit." He smiles, then notices the kitten. "We have a guest I see."
  374. Corrin stands there, stiffly waiting.
  375. <Corrin> "Yes, sir. Pilot Wilhelm brought it back without authorization, sir."
  376. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...her name is Hel." He comments between bites.
  377. <Corrin> "It's name is Hel, sir." Corrin adds without missing a beat.
  378. <Darkling> "Hel. Ah. Well I suppose Hel can stay." He makes for his room.
  379. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...thank you."
  380. <Corrin> "Yes, sir." Corrin responds, his tone strange. There's definitely some disappointment in there, though.
  381. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Kittens are good for morale." She picks at the remaining food on her plate. Not that there's much left of it.
  382. <Darkling> He comes back out, grabs a plate and starts piling some food on. "I bet! You all seem to have had quite a day then."
  383. Rasia licks a bit of juice that escaped her wolfing appetite, otherwise quiet.
  384. <Corrin> "You could say that, sir." Corrin says dryly, trying not to look at the kitten.
  385. <Darkling> “You'll have to tell me about it later.”
  386. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Yes, sir." Lahja ponders going on about the old woman, but she decides against it. She just finishes off her meal instead.
  387. <Darkling> He starts to mow down. "This is very good Wil." He says between bites.
  388. Corrin is expressionless, but is now looking at the kitten.
  389. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...I'll be going to my room now." He stands, dishes dumped in the sink. He scoops up Hel as he passes, and disappears.
  390. Corrin looks back to Lit once Wilhelm is gone.
  391. <Darkling> Lit finishes off his plate quickly.
  392. <Darkling> "Well, you kids should get some more rest. Tomorrow we head to the base for some training, and then you're back to school.
  393. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Training!" Lahja says this happily. She rises from her chair, giving Lit a quick salute. "Good night, sir. Good night, fellow pilots."
  394. <Corrin> "Yes, sir!" Corrin says, straightening more at the words "training".
  395. <Lahja_Ilvainen> And with that she runs off to her room.
  396. <Corrin> "Thank you, sir."
  397. Rasia curls her lips back, baring her teeth at nothing. Scarcely loud enough to be heard, "Prey."
  398. <Darkling> ==================END==================
