First, we do the pronouns. They're important too and you can build more sentences if you know them.
This = これ kore
That= あれ are
It=それ sore
which= どれ　dore
there= これら korera
those= あれら arera or それら sorera

Is it this apple? // This apple?
kore wa ringo desu ka?
これはリンゴですか？
TE-FORM

The te-form is a little bit similiar to the english ing-form. Itself doesnt make anything but it depends where in the sentence you use the te-form. It opens a hall of possibillities.

With 1stuffed verbs you build the te-form if you take the "ru-ending" and replace it with "te".

食べる taberu eating
たべて tabete eating (te-form)
