  2. [2013-07-17 13:17:00] <Kkat> 3Kid huffs, a feeling of dread coming in another wave, hooves getting shaky with the shock of an overactive adrenal system. "GET OUT OF THE HALLWAY!" She shouted, grabbing two bottles of radish-y death.
  3. [2013-07-17 13:17:06] <Kkat> 3Pink-E growls. "Stop being a meanie!" and fires several beams of pink light at the patroller, joining in with the rain of fire from Bookwright and Shatara.
  4. [2013-07-17 13:17:12] <Kkat> 3Bookwright 's eyes widen. He hides behind the wall.
  5. [2013-07-17 13:17:17] <Kkat> 3CopyCat tries to get back through the doorway... but she (and her shield) doesn't fit! Panicking just a little, she tries to run farther down the hallway to avoid what's coming...
  6. [2013-07-17 13:17:22] <Kkat> 3Shatara ducks back around the corner.
  7. [2013-07-17 13:17:30] <Kkat> 3The black spritebot responds to the new level of threat. A purplish shield, reminiscent of a miniture alicorn shield, flickers into being around it. At the same time, CopyCat and Bookwright hear the elevator on the floor below activate. Shatara hears this as well, and also catches the faint sound of spider bots, probably those from the research maze.

  9. [2013-07-17 13:20:42] <Kkat> 3CopyCat takes a peek at Kid's idea. "Security! Solaris agents are trying to steal Stable-Tec secrets and make an attempt on Our life!"
  10. [2013-07-17 13:20:58] <Kkat> 3Bookwright curses and reloads Pew Pew.
  11. [2013-07-17 13:21:07] <Kkat> 3Kid blinks. Really? We're going with that stupid plan? Alright!
  12. [2013-07-17 13:22:16] <Kkat> 3Pink-E manages a bleep of disbelief. "You guys know you're not Solaris, right?"
  13. [2013-07-17 13:22:26] <Kkat> 3Pink-E adds, "And that I'm not a security bot? And she isn't Luna?"
  14. [2013-07-17 13:22:35] <Kkat> 3Kid just stares at Pink-E. Oncoming fire be damned. Is she at /all/ familiar with the concept of a bluff?
  15. [2013-07-17 13:22:43] <Kkat> 3CopyCat plays the damsel in distress role like she was born to it. She holds her hoof to her forehead and swoons. "Oh no, those mean Solaris are here to carry Us away and lock us in a tower... or tie Us up in front of a train... or feed Us to a hungry dragon! Please help Us, oh big strong security bots!"

  19. [2013-07-17 13:27:37] * Mitzi frowns, she could have broken the elevator or something if she'd been a little quicker on the uptake
  20. [2013-07-17 13:35:19] * Noble_Heart steps up through the door at the top of the stairs, her shield glowing brightly to match the one around the security bot. "We have come to see the leader of this facility on behalf of Miss Applebloom. The arrival and implementation of the Paladin Maneframe to the Crystal Kingdom is of utmost importance."
  21. [2013-07-17 13:37:55] * Mitzi has no idea what the ponies are planning. She looks to the dark SPrite-bot's shield, then to her own claws, wondering if they were yet strong enough to cleave through.
  22. [2013-07-17 13:39:09] * Bookwright "I don't know about you Mitzi, but I was planning on shooting them until they stopped moving. Unless you have a better plan? Preferably that doesn't involve pretending to be a damsel in distress..."
  23. [2013-07-17 13:41:19] * Shatara fidgets nevously. His pistol seemed to be questionalbe against the robots, and the confined spaces weren't the best places to wave around a long rifle...
  24. [2013-07-17 13:43:41] * Mitzi nods, "Uh cud use Ur best skill." She smirks a bit, "Breakeen tings."
  25. [2013-07-17 13:43:42] * CopyCat hurriedly looks for any door in the hallway that was wide enough to admit her shielded form... otherwise she was trapped with the angry bubble-bot
  26. [2013-07-17 13:48:32] * Get_Lost goes into battle mode, that is find a corner and hide your head uder your hooves
  27. [2013-07-17 13:48:50] * Mitzi notes to Bookwright, "Eet has eet's uses, Uh just need tu start learneen uther tings when Uh have time."
  28. [2013-07-17 14:08:06] <Kkat> 3Since some of the party have already fired on the security patrol bot, it's not open to Noble_Heart's dialogue.
  29. [2013-07-17 14:09:56] * CopyCat didn't draw her gun before casting her shield, so she currently has the offensive capacity of a big green balloon. She tries the various hallway doors to see if any will let her in to hide from the security spritebot.
  30. [2013-07-17 14:10:47] * Kid has something strong pumping through her veins right now, holding two bottles of RADishy death kind of does that. It's a crazy kind of state of mind that thinks that a set of modified bottles of soda will kill her enemies, and she was looking plenty crazy.
  31. [2013-07-17 14:13:57] * Noble_Heart snorted in annoyance. "We do not suggest high explosives. It may damage the building." Her horn glowed brilliantly as she lowered it to the edge of her spell, a bolt of lightning crackling across to the shielded bot.
  32. [2013-07-17 14:14:07] <Kkat> 3The only door in the hallway large enough to let CopyCat through is the door on the set of double-doors on far end... past the security bot.
  33. [2013-07-17 14:16:13] * CopyCat hides behind a small (empty) plant pot in the hallway. It isn't very effective.
  34. [2013-07-17 14:21:14] * Kid talked around the bottle lid in her mouth. "I don't got much of a choice!" She was about out of ammo for her shotgun, and she had the feeling that there were going to be more enemies than ammo she had left.
  35. [2013-07-17 14:33:31] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart's lighting strike crackles across RD-E's shield, weakening it greatly. But the bot itself seems no worse for the attack.
  36. [2013-07-17 14:37:08] * Bookwright steadies his mind, his heart, his breathing, and his weapon. Pew Pew emits flashes of eye searing light. They tear at the robot down the hall.
  37. [2013-07-17 14:49:14] <Kkat> 3RD-E's shield flickers wildly under Pew Pew's light barrage... and under the third hit, collapses. The forth beam of light strikes against the armored hull, sizzling.
  38. [2013-07-17 14:58:55] * Kid sets down the grenades, pulls out her shotgun, and proceeds to give the robot in the hell a nice little mix of shock and flachette.
  39. [2013-07-17 15:09:24] <Kkat> 3Kid moves up, firing point blank into RD-E. The robot takes notable damage from the first attack, but moving that close triggers a point-defense, zapping Kid with a vicious amount of electricity.
  40. [2013-07-17 15:23:51] <Kkat> 3Even as the advanced spritebot zaps the small mare, Kid's first shot sends RD-E flying back into a framed picture of a turtle (with the caption "You can do it, kid!"), shattering the protective glass plate. Kid's second shot critically damages the robot, tearing through its armor. The third knocks it to the ground.
  41. [2013-07-17 15:24:18] <Kkat> 3A moment later, the horribly-damaged black sphere explodes.
  42. [2013-07-17 15:26:32] * Bookwright peers around the wall. "Well! Now we just have to deal with the 'real' security. That's coming up the stairs behind us."
  43. [2013-07-17 15:27:07] * Mitzi cracks her knuckles
  44. [2013-07-17 15:27:09] * Kid nods in approval of her quite thorough and efficient scrap-production. Damn right I can, poster. Damn right I can. Now, if she can get her muscles to stop seizing up, that'd be a plus.
  45. [2013-07-17 15:27:22] * CopyCat peeks out from behind her pot and cheers, "You rock, woohoo!"
  46. [2013-07-17 15:29:08] * Kid snarls. One down, several more to go.
  47. [2013-07-17 15:31:38] <Kkat> 3Whatever exited the elevator has not chosen to approach. But the group can now all hear the spider-bots drawing closer, almost at the bottom of the stairs.
  48. [2013-07-17 15:33:03] * Noble_Heart moves further into the hallway. "We recommend moving fast. We will need identification to make these robots leave Us alone."
  49. [2013-07-17 15:33:57] * Shatara nods and looks around for a helpful thing
  50. [2013-07-17 15:34:45] * Bookwright "Right, why don't we make for the security offices then?" He scuttles through the door and past the exploded robot, making best time for the door marked "Security".
  51. [2013-07-17 15:37:13] * Noble_Heart nods her head, moving quickly as she can down the hallway towards the security room as well.
  52. [2013-07-17 15:40:09] * CopyCat heads for those double-doors that were large enough for her to go through without dropping her shield, since the robot wasn't blocking her way now. Thinking of something, she calls out to Pink-E as she passes. "You don't happen to know where we can find ID badges in here, do you Pink-E?"
  53. [2013-07-17 15:42:47] <Kkat> 3The security office is locked.
  54. [2013-07-17 15:44:12] <Kkat> 3"Sure I do!" Pink-E chimes. "In the Security Office!"
  55. [2013-07-17 15:46:31] <Kkat> 3The odd pink sprite-bot adds, "Except for Overmare Innocence's. Her name tag is in her office.
  56. [2013-07-17 15:48:07] <Kkat> 3CopyCat reaches the double-doors. The nameplate next to it reads: Overmare Innocence Bright. These doors are also locked.
  57. [2013-07-17 15:48:22] * Kid spasms a little bit. Okay, that was a lot more amps than was healthy for a growing filly. She shook off the twitches, then grabbed the bottles that she set down. "Ya'll best back off from that hall. If you don't get that ID, I have an answer for them."
  58. [2013-07-17 15:48:42] * CopyCat grins, "Thank you Pink-E!" and bounces off the locked double-doors like a mare in a pinball.
  59. [2013-07-17 15:49:53] * Kid stood vigil over that stairway. If they came along... Well. There wouldn't be a lot left of them.
  60. [2013-07-17 15:56:32] * CopyCat gets back to her hooves and calls out for help. "Get_Lost, this door won't let me in. Could you lend me a hoof? Also, does this shield make my flank look big?"
  61. [2013-07-17 15:57:38] * Shatara tries not to look at CopyCat's flank.
  62. [2013-07-17 15:58:56] * Noble_Heart keeps an eye on the door into the hallway. "We recommend hurrying."
  63. [2013-07-17 16:01:16] <Kkat> 3The first spiderbot rounds the corner, floating up the stairs.
  64. [2013-07-17 16:08:53] <Kkat> 3Pink-E offers moral support for Get_Lost's impending lockpicking by making up cheers.
  65. [2013-07-17 16:09:34] * Shatara slips into SATS and fires three rounds into the robot with his battle rifle.
  66. [2013-07-17 16:10:39] * Get_Lost while covered by shatara's fire, get lost tries picking the easier lock
  67. [2013-07-17 16:11:28] <Kkat> 3"Get_Lost, Get_Lost! She's our mare!" Pink-E cheers. "There's no lock that she... can't..." The bot pauses. "um... dare?" It makes a little sound that can only be taken for a "darn".
  68. [2013-07-17 16:12:37] * Get_Lost tries picking th damn thing with a screaming bot in an ear and a shooting posse in the other
  69. [2013-07-17 16:14:00] * Get_Lost the pin breaks and the mare sighs, taking another from a pocket
  70. [2013-07-17 16:14:28] <Kkat> 3Pink-E makes a forlorn boop. Then announces, "That's it, Get_Lost! Lure that lock into a false sense of overconfidence!"
  71. [2013-07-17 16:16:38] * Get_Lost breaks the pin inside the lock "oh-oh"
  72. [2013-07-17 16:16:57] * Get_Lost "ehr... there is another way to get inside this place, right?"
  73. [2013-07-17 16:17:04] * CopyCat sits down behind Get_Lost keeping herself (and her shield) between the mare and any following robots...
  74. [2013-07-17 16:18:16] * Get_Lost "mostly because i think we willnever be able to open this thing again...."
  75. [2013-07-17 16:18:26] * Noble_Heart groans, looking for a window or something to see inside the room.
  76. [2013-07-17 16:21:52] * Get_Lost steps aside "well, if you have a firelance or something explosive, it could get handy now"
  77. [2013-07-17 16:22:34] * Kid smiles. "Back up."
  78. [2013-07-17 16:24:04] <Kkat> 3Shatara's rifle puts several holes in the approaching spiderbot's armor. There is a bot and a smell of ozone from inside. Still, it presses on. "Surrender and be subdued!" One of the mechanical limbs lifts and fires needles at Shatara.
  79. [2013-07-17 16:37:42] * Shatara acks as the darts thump into his armor, starting to feel woozy.
  80. [2013-07-17 16:39:07] * CopyCat and Get Lost head away from the door, giving Kid plenty of space.
  81. [2013-07-17 16:43:45] * Noble_Heart swallowed nervously. "Kid! Be careful not to destroy what's inside. We need the security pass." She moved to look for any signs of windows into the security room or the overmare's office. In a pinch she could do without, but she'd rather not risk appearing inside a desk or something.
  82. [2013-07-17 16:47:19] * Kid shudders a little. Yeah, thanks for the bode of confidence, big sis. "Can't really control that."
  83. [2013-07-17 16:48:56] * Bookwright holsters Pew Pew. "Right, time to put this new toy to the test!" He unlimbers the grenade launcher from earlier and aims down it as best he can. He calls out as he pulls the trigger, "Shatara, I suggest you get away from that robot!"
  84. [2013-07-17 16:49:40] * Shatara acks and woozily dives for whatever cover he can.
  85. [2013-07-17 16:53:18] * Bookwright *THUP*
  86. [2013-07-17 16:58:54] <Kkat> 3Some of the side offices have little windows on the doors. While the offices might be curiosity-provoking, none of them stand out as being likely to have the badges Noble_Heart is looking for.
  87. [2013-07-17 16:59:36] * Noble_Heart groaned a few moments, instead taking up a place in the hallway between the stairwell and her friends.
  88. [2013-07-17 17:15:15] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart takes up position a moment after Bookwright's grenade blasts the robot and sends fragmentation shrapnel at Shatara and Bookwright. The spider bot looks badly damaged but still functional... if barely.
  89. [2013-07-17 17:18:09] * Kid places the bottle next to the lock, props it up with some debris, pops the cap and runs like hell, clutching the second bottle.
  90. [2013-07-17 17:18:32] * Kid takes cover. "Fire in th' hole!"
  91. [2013-07-17 17:18:48] * CopyCat shelters behind her plant pot. Get Lost shelters behing her.
  92. [2013-07-17 17:19:18] * Shatara carefully lines up his rifle again, his eyesight beginning to blur subtly as he fires.
  93. [2013-07-17 17:22:54] <Kkat> 3Shatara's gun jams. Behind him, he can hear another explosion, a softer one. Overmare Innocence Bright's doors swing open, revealing a nice if somewhat understated office, complete with filing cabinets, lounge sofa, bookshelf, chairs, desk, terminal... and the skeleton of (based on her badge) Overmare Innocence Bright...
  94. [2013-07-17 17:24:42] <Kkat> 3There is a shotgun in her lap, twin barrels pointed upwards. And the painting behind her -- a picture of a cheerful playground filled with brightly colored colts and fillies and their every-trusty brainbot foalsitters -- is marred by a long-blackened stain.
  95. [2013-07-17 17:26:27] * Kid runs in. Okay, grab the badge and then just do...
  96. [2013-07-17 17:28:45] <Kkat> 3A section of the office ceiling slides back, a turret popping down.
  97. [2013-07-17 17:30:16] * Shatara curses, his talon slapping back the charging handle before firing a followup shot.
  98. [2013-07-17 17:32:06] <Kkat> 3Shatara's followup shot pierces into the innards of the spiderbot. It jerks and spasms, it's hoverjet flickering out, and falls in crumpling heap, clattering down the stairs.
  99. [2013-07-17 17:32:57] <Kkat> 3The other spiderbots draw closer, still out of sight.
  100. [2013-07-17 17:33:13] <Kkat> 3The turret spots Kid, swivels, and begins to fire.
  101. [2013-07-17 17:34:11] * Kid freezes up. This hit her in a wrong way. She absorbs the scene, as if stuck in a trance. Black blood on the wall. Shotgun in the mouth. One blast, two shots. Dead before he hit the ground. Dead eyes with a black depth that nopony should ever have to know. She noted the turret coming down. Move. Move, now. She lost herself in the eyesockets. Move. Now. Instinct took over conscious thought,...
  102. [2013-07-17 17:34:12] * Kid ...snapping her out of her stupor to get behind something.
  103. [2013-07-17 17:39:29] <Kkat> 3The turret sprays beams of colored energy, some striking the desk, one hitting the skeleton of Innocence Bright.... but three striking Kid.
  104. [2013-07-17 17:44:27] * Kid gets hit and goes down hard, smoking and twitching, body finally telling her that there's no more that it can offer her. And when she does, she swore she saw faces. A mare and a stallion, looking down in shame of what became of their daughter, before everything fades into a perfect blackness.
  105. [2013-07-17 17:45:01] * Kid "You done fucked up, Dream."
  106. [2013-07-17 17:47:30] * CopyCat gasps in shock at what just happened to Kid and gallopes towards the door. Subconsciously she grabs a phrase that was at the forefront of Get_Lost's mind. "This isn't what we meant!"
  107. [2013-07-17 17:48:42] <Kkat> 3The turret responds, immediately ceasing fire, locked temporarily in a hostilities re-evaluation.
  108. [2013-07-17 17:49:29] * Noble_Heart looks in the direction of the laser fire, in time to see CopyCat rush inside. As much as she wanted to join her sister inside, she doubted she could make it past the door. Instead she called out to Shatara and Bookwright. "Fall back to upstairs! We have more problems up here!" Readying herself for any sign of further arrivals.
  109. [2013-07-17 17:54:09] * CopyCat doesn't pause to see if the phrase worked on this turret like it had the other, instead she throws herself between Kid's prone form and the possible attacker. Since she isn't shot for a full five seconds, she lifts Kid gently with her magic and starts to leave the room... only to turn around and retrieve the ID card that occupied the injured filly's dreams.
  110. [2013-07-17 18:01:33] * Bookwright ducks into cover on the other side of the door, next to Shatara. "Ready to shoot many robots? 'Cause I am!"
  111. [2013-07-17 18:03:17] <Kkat> 3Two more spiderbots begin to make their way up the stairs.
  112. [2013-07-17 18:04:46] * Shatara shakes his head clear as his vision doubles a bit. "So uh...how them badges coming?"
  113. [2013-07-17 18:06:08] <Kkat> 3The first of the two moves into view.
  114. [2013-07-17 18:06:46] * Bookwright leans out and squeezes three more shots out of Pew Pew.
  115. [2013-07-17 18:09:23] * CopyCat carefully gives Kid her last healing potion, then notices Shatara and Bookwright taking cover at the doorway. She draws her revolver, but it bumps against the inside of her shield, so she has to try something else... "Kid, you don't mind if I borrow this for a while, do you?" CC pulls Kid's scoped .44 out of its holster and checks that it's loaded. "Thanks, Kid. I need to help the boys with the bots."
  116. [2013-07-17 18:10:35] <Kkat> 3Pew Pew stabs at the security bot. It appears scorched but undeterred.
  117. [2013-07-17 18:15:54] * Noble_Heart backs away from the entrance doors, closer to the overmare's office, enough so to catch sight of the turret within. She wasted little time in turning her head as another bolt of lightning streaked across the room to scramble the turret's circuits. "CopyCat! Get Lost! Get inside and take the turret out. We shall guard the door as long as We can."
  118. [2013-07-17 18:17:23] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart's blast of lightning fries the turret. It won't be doing any more shooting.
  119. [2013-07-17 18:23:10] * CopyCat turns to Noble_Heart, already heading towards Shatara and Bookwright defending the door to the stairwell. "I can help, and I have the I.D. badge. That might be enough to turn the robots away."
  120. [2013-07-17 18:24:16] <Kkat> 3Shatara's rifle tears into the spiderbot as it begins to ascend the starewell, followed closely by a second.
  121. [2013-07-17 18:29:43] <Kkat> 3The first spiderbot raises a needler gun and fires several shots at Bookwright, two of the needles sinking into his flesh to deliver their poison. The second spritebot aims an identical weapon at Shatara, but the needler gun jams.
  122. [2013-07-17 18:38:36] <Kkat> 3The spiderbots demand in chorus, "Lay down your weapons and be subdued, scum!"
  123. [2013-07-17 18:40:32] * CopyCat moves to the doorway with Bookwright and Shatara, holding Overmare Innocence's I.D. badge in front of her. She floats the badge into view of the robots. "This isn't what we meant!"
  124. [2013-07-17 18:46:53] * CopyCat continues. "Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction but uh... everything's all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?"
  125. [2013-07-17 18:47:00] <Kkat> 3The robots stop, holding position, blocking the stairs but no longer firing.
  126. [2013-07-17 18:49:11] <Kkat> 3--- End of Session ---
