In a tier where everything is sort of bad, there is room for experimentation and diversity, because things can work here that don't work well in the higher tiers; no one is ever going to seriously use Cryogonal or Monferno above RU, for instance, but in NU, things that would never see the light of day become viable. But why do that when you can abuse Feraligatr and get cheap wins because it takes Smogon 6 months to get around to testing something which obviously should've been tested/banned to BL3 immediately upon the tier's creation.
