Cyad's Emerald Nuzlocke FAQ

RULES OF THE NUZLOCKE:

1. I can catch only the first Pokemon I encounter in a new area (route/cave/town/etc). Even if I fail to catch it, I can't catch another one. If two places have the same name, I'll treat them as the same route (eg. interior and exterior of Mt Pyre, parts of Safari Zone). NO DOUBLES CLAUSE.

2. If a Pokemon faints, it gets permamently boxed and I can't use it anymore.

3. Legendaries will be fainted, but shiny Pokemon are wildcards and can be caught no matter which encounter on the route they are, because come on.

4. I'm allowed to catch additional HM Slaves, i.e. Pokemon that will have HM moves, but won't ever be allowed to fight. I also can't use their other perks (eg. If I get a Zigzagoon HM Slave, I can't take items it Pickuped).

5. The Nuzlocke ends when all of my Pokemon that can fight faint or when I beat Wallace, whichever happens first.

IS IT YOUR FIRST NUZLOCKE?
No, I had a Fire Red one (died on last rival) and a Soul Silver one (successful; no casualties until the first Elite Four, not counting a Graveler lost to That Surf Dratini). It is, however, my first stream.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING AFTER THIS NUZLOCKE?
If I find a nice webcam, I'll do some casual shiny hunting / breeding, and perhaps an Omega Ruby Badge Quest.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INTO POKEMON?
Roughly 4 years.

DO YOU PLAY XY/ORAS?
I've played through both X and OR. I was competitive for a while but once ORAS came out I fell out of the loop. I still do all my breeding/trading/shiny hunting on X.

WHAT NON-POKEMON GAMES DO YOU PLAY?
Lately it's Zeldas, Hyrule Warriors, Theatrhythm FFCC. I'm starting Osu but I'm bad at it.

WHY TREECKO?
Because from my experience Emerald is a cakewalk with Swampert and not as hard with Blaziken.

WHAT'S WITH THE SURSKIT?
It's my favourite Pokemon! And Molly is my beloved never-evolved Surskit from ORAS who Signal Beamed Steven's Mega Metagross into oblivion. She's awesome.
