  1. Accident Summary
  2. During the Disney picnic at the Seattle Convention Center (SCC), one of our employees, under the western district marketing team, accidently brought full potent pot brownies that caused quite a stir and unintentional laughter.
  3. Accident Details
  4. I’m sure you’re well aware, Disney has seen an increase in sales and revenue due to the marketing and research departments working extra hard to compete against the company’s well know rival, Six Flags. Due to all the employees extensive hard work, you have awarded all the regions in the United States to a picnic at the SCC for an exclusive faculty award ceremony and dance party. The SCC is located on an ocean front view that can’t be compared to other convention centers, and the SCC has given us a great discount due to Disney being a favorable company to the president of SCC. On the day of the main event, the event planner allowed food to be brought from employees’ homes if they were living in the immediate area, which was cheaper and more favorable to the faculty.
  5. Once the event was underway, with all employees accounted for, the project planner thought it was best for food to be welcomed before the award ceremony, after the award ceremony, and before the dance party. I agreed this would be perfectly fine because I didn’t see any problems occurring in the future, after all, it was an employee only picnic with a few of the SCC staff present to help with communications and food services. The event planner placed all the food from employees and caterers in the back of the convention center to allow easy access and less of a distraction during the award ceremony.
  6. An employee by the name of Jim Webber brought home-made brownies because he was a master chef, or so he believed, and he would have loved to share them with the rest of his coworkers. Little did he know, or anyone else for that matter, that the brownies were mixed up with his son’s brownies, in which he made for his own herbal store; therefore, the pot brownies had been placed on the table available for anyone to eat during any part of the day. Nearly the whole marketing department had a slice of Jim Webber’s delicious, creamy, chocolaty pot brownie. With knowledgeable information on the effects of pot, everyone within the compound had been feeling mellow with a dramatic change to laughter within the slightest cough or sneeze.
  7. The award ceremony was ruined because the announcer couldn’t stop laughing at the awardee’s last names and he would change his tone or speed whenever he felt it was necessary. It was a complete disaster and nobody knew how to fix the situation because they themselves were under the same drug as everyone else in the room. Sooner or later, everyone started to feel more and more drained almost as if they just gave blood to their local blood donation organization; and finally, the effects of the drug were completely gone but everyone was starting to feel hungry. With an assortment of food still out in the open, everyone rushed over to the tables and began to hog down as if there was no tomorrow or an afternoon dinner. Once the tables were cleaned off of every crumb, the rest of the picnic went according to plan, almost as if that little embarrassing moment never occurred and everyone’s memory was wiped clean of the incident.
  8. Jim Webber immediately came forward and explained that his son owns a medical pot store in Seattle and that he made the brownies at home. He continued to explain that they must have gotten mixed up and that Jim Webber took the drugged brownies instead of the clean, pure brownies that were meant for the picnic. Due to Jim Webber admitting and stating it was an accident, the recommended repercussions for Jim Webber is: a written warning, 2-day suspension with pay, and an apology letter to his coworkers and staff of SCC.
  9. Preventive Measures
  10. In order to prevent an accidental incident occurring again, the Safety Department will work with all future picnics by following these guidelines:
  11. 1. On picnic days, represent a specific catering list for the supervisor to check
  12. 2. NO outside food sources except the catering company itself
  13. 3. Be sure that the catering company employees have no ties to Disney
  14. 4. Include a list of foods allowed and not allowed for preventive measures
  15. 5. Ensure that all food is safe by hiring a food tester for the event
