  1. >”Man anon, it’s getting late…”
  2. >Dash peered out the window at the setting sun as you sip your tea.
  3. “Yeah...”
  4. >After a few nervous glances in your direction and awkward silence, Dash spoke up.
  5. >”Hey anon… Can I maybe sleep over…?” She mumbled, blushing.
  6. >Dash wants to sleep over?
  7. >It’s not really that big of a shocker, the two of you had been together for a few months after all.
  8. >And you know how much she hates being alone.
  9. >You turn to her, smiling.
  10. “Sure.”
  11. >Dash smiles and pulls you into a hug.
  12. “Don’t you think it’s a bit too soon though?”
  13. >”What do you mean…” She gasps and playfully punches your shoulder, blushing harder. “Anon!”
  14. >Chuckling, you ruffle her mane a little.
  15. “Relax Dashie, we don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”
  16. >The sun outside was now completely gone and Luna’s moon had started to ascend into the dark sky.
  17. >Looks like it’s time for bed.
  18. “I’m gonna go ahead and go to bed I guess, you coming?”
  19. >”Yeah!”
  20. >Immediately after you open the bedroom door, Dash flies past you and into the bed, diving under the covers.
  21. >Kinda cute in a way.
  22. >You stretch and yawn, then climb into the bed next to her.
  23. >Then you reach for the light…
  24. >”Anon you’re turning off the l- lights?” Her voice was shakey.
  25. >You cast her a questioning glance.
  26. “Yeah? Why?”
  27. >Her glance shifted from you and to the lamp, then back to you. “Nothing… Nevermind…”
  28. >Huh.
  29. >If you didn’t know any better, you’d assume Dash was afraid of the dark or something…
  30. >You lean over and turn the lamp off, casting the room in darkness.
  31. >Then you cover up and snuggle up next to Dash.
  32. >Dash does the same, covering her head with the sheet and burying her head in your chest, holding you tight.
  33. “Dash?”
  34. >She’s quiet for a second.
  35. >”Y- yes?”
  36. “Something wrong?”
  37. >...”No..”
  38. “Dash come on, I know when you are troubled, just tell me.”
  39. >”It’s silly…”
  40. “I bet it’s not.”
  41. >”Fine…” She grumbled. “I’m scared of…” she trails off, the sheet muffling her voice not making it easier to hear her.
  42. “What?”
  43. >Suddenly she throws the sheets off of her head. “I SAID I’M SCARED OF THE DARK!”
  44. >Rainbow Dash? Scared of the dark?
  45. “You are?”
  46. >You could make out her nodding.
  47. >This must be very hard for her.
  48. “Aw, there’s nothing to be afraid of.”
  49. >You cover her up with the sheet and pull her back down to the bed, closer to you.
  50. >Holding her there gently.
  51. “I know how you feel, believe it or not.”
  52. >”What do you mean?”
  53. “When I was a kid, I was scared of the dark to where I would just leave the lights on all night… Burned through so much light bulbs.” You chuckled at the memory.
  54. >”But I’m an adult and I’m still afraid…”
  55. “Dash, there’s nothing wrong with being afraid of something. Everypony has a fear.”
  56. >You rub her mane a little, making her calm down a bit.
  57. >”But I’m Rainbow Dash… I’m not afraid of anything…”
  58. “So? You still are Rainbow Dash, and you are the bravest pony I know… Bravery or not, we all have fears;no one is fearless.”
  59. >Dash goes silent for a moment, thinking about what you said, before turning and kissing your cheek lightly.
  60. >”I guess...”
  61. “No problem. and besides, nothing in the dark will get you while I’m here.”
  62. >She giggles. “Hey anon?”
  63. “Yeah Dashie?”
  64. >“What’s your fear?”
  65. >This caught you a bit off guard, but after Dash was so honest with her telling you her fear, it would only be fair to return the honesty.
  66. “I’m afraid of spiders.”
  67. >”Really? They’re so small, though.”
  68. >You chuckle.
  69. “Back on Earth we had huge spiders, as big as my hand, and if they bit you there was a chance you could die.”
  70. >”Sounds scary.”
  71. “Yeah…”
  72. >Now you were really tired, and you could tell she was too judging from her yawn. It was time for sleep.
  73. >”Hey anon? Thanks for listening and not laughing at me about my fear… it makes me feel alot better actually… specially’ since you’re here.”
  74. >This brings a smile to your face.
  75. “Anytime, Dash…”
  76. >Kinda think of it, talking to her about your fear made you feel a bit better too.
  77. “Thanks for listening to mine, too. I feel better as well.”
  78. >Sighing lovingly, she moves her head back onto your chest, this time much more gentle than she was before.
  79. >No longer trembling.
  80. “Night Dashie.”
  81. >”Night anon…”
