  11. ==Zombies Forever==
  12.
  13. They've laughed at you...
  14.
  15. They've mocked you...
  16.
  17. Spending every night camped out in this parking lot, with only your pistol and flashlight didn't seem like a great idea to everyone.
  18.
  19. But you knew they were coming...
  20.
  21. You knew the zombies were coming...
  22.
  23. And now they are here...
  24.
  25. And MAN, you just know everyone else is going to be sooooo jealous! They're probably all looking through the cracks in their boarded-up windows thinking, "Man, I wish I was out there killing zombies like that guy." Boy, you are going to enjoy rubbing it in their faces when this is over.
  26.
  27.
  28. ==What is Zombies Forever?==
  29.
  30. As you might have guessed, Zombies forever is a game about zombies. It's a top-down shooter that takes place in a small parking lot. As you last out the zombie invasion, you can purchase upgrades to your pistol with the cash that all the zombies somehow carry on them.
  31.
  32. Designed as a short, casual game, Zombies Forever will only take an hour or two from start to completion. The game features a play-> die-> upgrade-> repeat cycle. The player has several upgrades that can be purchased in the middle of a round with the cash collected from zombies. When the player dies, these are lost, but the score earned during the round can be used to purchase permanent upgrades and new weapons, allowing the player to survive longer and earn more points the next time.
  33.
  34.
  35. ==I have played a million zombie shooters, why is this different?==
  36.
  37. The main selling point for Zombies Forever, as far as originality, is the inclusion of a mechanic not often seen in a top-down shooter - namely, the lighting system. Zombies not exposed by a light source (such as the player's flashlight, a street light, or a flamethrower) are invisible to the player. This adds a new element to the gameplay, beyond simply shooting anything that moves on sight. The player must constantly watch his back and be ready to react to anything that might have caught him unawares.
  38.
  39. Additionally, the audio is quite unique, albeit a bit experimental. Every sound effect in the game, from gunshots to explosions, is voice-recorded (and adjusted with the appropriate audio editing software).
  40.
  41. Finally, Zombies Forever sports a unique visual style featuring a blend of retro and modern graphical elements.
  42.
  43.
  44. ==Why are you making this game?==
  45.
  46. The answer couldn't be simpler: I like making games. I've been developing games with flash for many years now, as a hobby, and the point has come where I'd like to make game development into a career. I decided to start small, with a casual flash game, but if Zombies Forever is successful, I plan to move onto bigger and better games.
  47.
  48.
  49. ==Why Kickstarter?==
  50.
  51. I've always been a fan of crowd-funding, or just about crowd-anything for that matter. The power of community involvement in a project is a hugely untapped resource. Many hands makes light work as they say. I believe a voluntary funding system such as here on Kickstarter is generally more positive and enjoyable then the alternative (trying to market the game to a business sponsor, usually a flash game portal).
