-
Rules

-
-
Preamble

-
The organization of such a tournament requires a set or rules and a lot of administrators and referees. By playing or involving in this tournament, you commit yourself to respect these rules and those who organize Assault Cube World cup.
- Since we can't predict all situations, we grant ourselves the right to modify these rules at any step of the tournament.
- Misrespecting these rules will result in sanctions, which can be extended "out of" the tournament.
-

-
-
1. The Assault Cube World Cup (2011)

-
The 2011 ACWC wishes to be a fun, and competitive AC (1.1.0.4) tournament between different countries. We have nothing to do with previous ACWC's versions.
- Everybody is free to participate to this tournament, as player, or referee, unless ACWC administrators refuse their application.
- The way the tournament will work will be decided when team registrations are closed.
-

-
-
2. Team

-
-
2.1 Team registration

-
Since this tournament is meant to be a world cup, a team should of course represent a country, or at least a specific area/region in the world.
- Note that multiple teams can represent the same country. Depending on their numbers, there should be a qualification process to know which one will participate to the following steps of the tournament.
- The players of each team should have the same timezones (more or less) and speak the same language, so we expect a good organization. Also we might deny any attempt to create a clan-like team.
- Once team registration is closed, administrators and referees will validate or deny some applications. Then teams will be "locked".
- If you wish to register a team, you'll need to respect these rules :

-

-
A player can't be involved in several teams.

-
A team consists of 4 or 5 players, not more, not less

-
A team can represent different countries, but for very good reasons. We might deny the application of this kind of teams if needed. Be very cautious about that.

-

-
-
2.2 Captains

-
Each team has a single captain who is in charged of special stuff

-

-
The captain must always be on #acwc IRC when he's online / about to play. He must provides an email address to the administrators of ACWC, just by registrating to acwc's web site or contacting them.

-
The captain should be able to provide screenshots or demos of all matches he played for the world cup if asked by an administrator

-

-
-
3. Matches

-
Matches will NOT be decided randomly. We'll organize matches between teams who have similar timezones, dates and hours of disponibility.

-
-
3.1 Before matches

-
The date of a match will be discussed by both opponents and the referee. The referee is chosen by the administrators. He should be reliable, able to stay during the whole match, and fair.
- Once a date and hour is given on the ACWC website, it can not be changed anymore. The day of the match, players has to be on at least 15 minutes before.
- If a team isn't ready for the match, it will be disqualified or the match will be registered as a won by their opponents. This decision is up to the administrators and the referees.
-

-
-
3.2 In game

-
Administrators and referees will decide, for each step of the tournaments, which maps and modes will be played. Only official maps might be played.
- If someone leaves during a game, all players have to keep playing unless the referee ask them to stop.
- There will be breaks of about 1 or 2 minutes maximum between each round. The referee will warn players before voting next game.
- In-game spectating shouldn't be allowed, but the referee might authorize a player to spectate (e.g: ACTV administrator).
- At intermission, or if a player is missing, you can ask a sub player to join.
- Players will have to respect these rules in game :

-

-
Do not use modified clients; If they're available for your operating system, use the binaries provided by sourceforge instead. If you have already replaced yours, download it there : Windows

-
Do not use a proxy.

-
Do not object to referee's decisions.

-
Do not exploit bugs of the game

-

-
-
3.3 Servers

-
ACWC will only be played on the following servers : (ports are voluntarily kept secret)

-

-
hlin.woop.us (UK)

-
Servers will be communicated by the referee a few minutes before the match. The server will be chosen from the previous list and different parameters :

-

-
Teams wishes

-
Ping equality

-

-
-
3.4 Scoring

-
The team with the greatest number of flags win. In case of tie, frags will be taken in account.
- If it's still a tie, then we'll consider that nobody has won the game.

-
-
4. Referees

-
A few referees, who aren't allowed to play the tournament, will be designated. They are in charge of making sure the game goes smoothly.
- The referees must :

-

-
Catch players before a match and bring them on the server they (i.e: the referees) picked.

-
Check that nobody is missing or impersonating

-
Vote the games one by one with short breaks at intermission

-
Get screenshots and demos1 of each game.

-
Register matches using the ACWC website.

-

-
Referees are able to take any decision they want during matches, including asking a player to leave, altough their decisions can be cancelled by the administrators.

-
1 Captains also have to get screenshots and demos
